Consider that Malaysia did not reach Thomas Cup semifinals for eight years, this SF was a pride regained despite this defeat to China. Initially most would predict Malaysia would lose 0-3 easily consider China strength plus playing in Chengdu, but the new generations of Malaysian players proves many doubters wrong.

Oh well, the result was as expected. Good try Malaysian team. Excellent game by goh/izzudin and aaron/soh. As for LZJ… nobody really put any hope on him besides filling the team quota.

I disagree. If it wasn't for LZJ, highly doubtful we will reach the semis 1st time in 8 years or even go past the group stage. No current Msian singles besides LZJ could win against first singles of HK and Japan.
At least the double players tried their best and gave China hard time. Eventually, Malaysia would lost 3 single matches anyways. But they should consider banning LZJ from playing the first match. It sets a very negative morale to the time losing pathetically like that...
Speaking the truth,we really need to improve our men's single power,or else we are very difficult to take back the Thomas cup! Unfortunately Ng Tze Yong was force to withdraw from the team due to injury, really hope that he will come back stronger on next Thomas cup & more powerful men's single player like Jun Hao,Justin Hoh & future star player.

Aaron and Soh were so on point with their defense vs Liang Wang. Apart from that 5-6 points in the third game, it never felt like they lost their form.

If the assessment is based on merit, Rexy is no longer qualified to coach the national squad. But the problem is that management still gives him a chance even if he can't do the job as expected. Maybe there's someone in power who wants him to stay there.
On paper initially I thought it could be a 3-2 or 2-3 since LZJ and Goh/Izzudin seem to be in pretty good form lately, plus Chia/Soh has a pretty even H2H against Liang/Wang so all these three matches could literally go either way.
Nobody expected LZJ to win here, at best he could've stretched it to 3 games if he won the 1st, and maybe he could be somewhat in the game if he just rested game 2 (although according to the haters of Antonsen and Danish players in general, that is extremely unsportsmanlike for some reason)
Dunno why you expect LZJ to score points against SYQ. He hasn't defeated him since 2018

Arguably, Shi YQ is the one player who is best placed to challenge Victor Axelsen for the 🥇 at the Olympics. Shi has good attack and defence, is able to change strategy depending on the opponent's style of play.
The only thing uncertain is Shi YQ's motivation. On occasions, he does not seem particularly motivated to win the match. 😅

Here Indonesians are supporting Malaysian people to speak one language, Malay regardless any races. LCW can speak very good Malay. The Singaporean Chinese players too. So, it is really a good advise to speak Malay so that the opponents can not understand. If you are becoming Japanese, you have to change the name and speak Japanese. If you become European/American, it is also the same. Indonesian too. So it is time for Malaysia to do the same.
