@ 17:16 On interspecies cooperation, Cats, Dogs, Turkeys, Chickens, Mudskippers, Mantis shrimp, Gobies, Bettas, Humans, bacteria, Chinchillas and more. My biggest complaint right now is the neighbors chickens are chasing the cats away and stealing all the food I put out for them. As for any animal mentioned, the mantis shrimp and bacteria are the only ones I've never had for a pet. That being said, I could not live without the bacteria to help me digest what I eat. When it comes to Monkeys, I've never had one for a pet, but I do know many people do. I had a cat "StarFire" who lost a fight to another cat. I went into the neighbor's yard and picked her up. I had her in my arms when I approached my front door. She challenged the other cat to a rematch, not with her, but with me. I stopped, and stared at the other cat. He took one look at StarFire, then one look at me, then ran away. StarFire started purring, and I proceeded on into the kitchen to open up a full can of tuna fish to give to her.
@@peterwarner553if you assume that everything - up to and including wet grass - can either hurt you or conceal something that can hurt you, you'll be fine here. A good pair of sturdy boots and long pants will protect you from most stuff, just don't try to cuddle the danger noodles and stay away from the roos.
@TheMonk72 and just leave the wildlife alone. It blows my mind when I see videos of tourists handling a blue ringed octopus etc, just look don't touch.
When I worked for the Federal government, I had a friend from the area of Nairobi. He was in the military, and he told me he was sending money back home to support his 4 wives. In further talks, he told me that in his home country, a man's worth was counted, in part, by the number of wives he could support, and by the number of livestock he had. He and I were friends while we served together, still I understood that in my country, only the first wife would count. Anyhow, in his country, he was considered to be well to do. It was also clear to me, from our discussions, he loved his wives. Now, if you are going to take me to task, keep in mind, his country had very different standards than my country has. He was doing his best to support them, even though he had to be apart, and he and multiple children to support also. Even now, after we parted ways because different duties, and we have lost touch, I hope he was able to do for them. I also know, in a nearby country to where my friend lived, it is the woman who is the head of household. Not only that, but when she gets married, she also marries all of the unmarried brothers, and she is the head of the household. Clearly, we have a long way to go in our learning.
They are not showing the alien tourists the domesticated horses, the donkey's, and animal companions. The alien has discovered dogs, but now needs to see the miniature house lions (house cats.)
I like HFY stories and the "aliens are freaked out by ordinary hazards of life" subtype is amusing, but I am getting very tired of know-nothing authors moralizing over fossil fuels. Friendly reminder that every climate prediction has failed, every model has been wrong, and every attempt to extrapolate what the past climate ever looked like is based on algorithms that have failed every test to see if their results have anything, anything at all, to do with reality. Also, carbon dioxide just simply does not do what climatology says it does, and we've known that for half a century. The entire thing is bad data, built with worse math, based on fictional chemistry. Now, as for solar and wind, I cannot believe this still needs to be said, the energy that can be effectively harnessed is not physically located where it needs to be used, the machines used to harvest the energy are ecological and safety disasters when in operation, the chemicals used to build the machines are so toxic they make the worst kinds of coal look like vegan soap you can eat, the average lifetime of any given solar/wind plant is measured in years instead of decades, and the most critical, most expensive, most toxic components cannot be recycled and end up in landfills. Fossil fuels are among the cleanest energy sources that exist. Nuclear beats the pants off it, though.
Love this series Agro!
imagine if this researcher had gone to Galapagos and seen the turtles there

This is a great explanation of why humans are both top predators, but also want peace... Fight and group...
There are two places that aliens shouldn’t go on earth without plenty of humans with them, Australia and the American south, and/or maybe Russia/China
Conveniently forgetting the battleground called Africa 🗿
Australia is safe if you're sensible.
That's a strange way to spell South America
