Vinnaithandi varuvaya is not a movie.. its an emotion.. so close to my heart.. thank u so much Gautham sir for this beautiful piece of art.. the songs, bgm, dialogues, jessie, karthik.. everything is💗💗💗
Exactly..... This is how love is. It's complications, it's pain , the growth and joy. The emotional was spot on. I loved the movie also for simbu. He was made for the character.
@@murallivengadasalamthevar1784 great point.growth of our character comes from the pain we face. We have two possiblities either withstand the pain, learn from it and change for the better or escape from the pain.
Same here
Definitely brother
This kind of conversation is wonderful to watch. Baradwaj Rangan.. Pls, continue this series "One Film one Facet" with all the iconic director's movies. Mani Ratnam's Iruvar, Karthik Subaraj's Jigarthanda, Kumararaja's Aaranya Kandam, Myskin's Onayum Aattukuttiyum and so on..
sal19 91 🤗
Superb collection. Agreed 🤝
True
Woww!! It took 8 years for someone to have this conversation to dissect this beautiful movie. I fell in love with this movie and watched it like 5 times just in theaters. Now, so excited to hear about the VTV 2 idea, that too with Maddy.. 🤞it should work! Thanks for this interview BR!
Prem Gokul we’ll join the club
This is probably one of the best interview i have seen in my life .... especially for an ardent VTV fan like me i think i managed to watch this movie some 63 odd times, this is like a great gift ... i am glad that GVM did this interview inspite of taking some 8 loooong years ...
BS interview. Towards the end of the film, there is a part of a song where Trisha and Samantha/the telugu hero can be seen in a bus. There was no way in imagination or reality, those two could have met. That is botched up editing and direction. No question about that? This whole thing came across like a director who had no clue what the climax should have been and then pieced together a tragic ending because that way more people would appreciate him as a director. So many inconsistencies.
VTV will be remembered as a timeless classic. The ultimate feel-good movie.
The score, the songs, the screenplay, the imperfect characters, the bittersweet ending... it'll hit us in our feels the same way in 2050, as it did back in 2010.
Snippet for sequel is interesting.
Although it would have been great if GVM had mentioned the voice behind jessie - Chinmayi
Her work was phenomenal in this movie
Santhosh Oh yes, Chinmayi's voice added so much depth and beauty to Jessie. In fact, Sameera's role in Vaaransm Aayiram was also voiced well by Chinmayi.
Best thing about Baradwaj Rangan's interview is that he puts ppl on a trance and like a trainer hypnotist, he makes the director to travel back and answer questions for him purely to quench his thirst of putting together the missing pieces. With that said, no wonder Gautam revealed the story of the sequel at the end.
What depth . Makes me want to watch the movie all overagain to relive the moments discussed . It’s these kind of interviews that should be made often . An interview about a movie released 8 years ago can give this kind of effect on the viewers !
Akshaya Duraiswamy The movie is a CULT classic. No matter after how long we watch we still love to hear more about it. I'm definitely rewatching this again. So many beautiful nuances played out so wonderfully throughout the movie.
GVM is one of the medicine to all my ailments in life ❤
BR being a total fan boy of VTV!!!😂😂 great conversation i'm also a vtv fan.
💯🤍
Vtv is one movie which don't need visuals jus switch off your light and jus hear the whole movie with scenes, songs and bgms it will still hit you hard and stay with you forever. Such a CULT CLASSIC movie of kollywood. Baradwaj sir I always feel like how can you ask such depth detailed questions. Your one of a kind host man seriously . There is no cliche questions, you had broken stereotypes long back. More strength to our GVM sir and Bharathwaj Sir. Just loved it . It shud 've been a 50min session . Xoxo
Wooow Finally GVM & BWR sir together . Gonna be a mind blowing session ! Perfect way to kill my travel time from Abu Dhabi to Dubai. Thanks sir.
I feel La La Land had more similarities with VTV. It improved my respect over GVM because VTV was released before La La Land. I was really surprised on how people did not realise it. Is it only me who feel this similarity? Maybe if VTV was released after LLL people would have called GVM a copycat. Very unfair!!!
Thu, there are movies that VTV's story was copied from. Annie Hall, 500 Days of Summer and other films. Educate yourself. If not, you look like a fool.
now i realize!
@@loveanimals-0197 first educate yourself.. watching a similar story u call it as copycat, how dumb you're.. talking about others, get your facts right
@@loveanimals-0197
Copied ?
You're insane😊
@@loveanimals-0197 ok ik it's been long but i can't help(you're too fucking stupid). I hope u saw asuran and avatar 2. Plot points are the same, does that mean that Cameron copied? Fucking mofo that's how the world works, art gets repeated inevitably.
In the balcony when they hug together Karthik : iniku en ithu ivalo nalla iruku ??
she says " may be kedaisi thadavaya irukkalam Pola" is that a clue that she is going to leave him ????
I certainly got the Bombay Mani sir preference the first time 😇😇 being movie buffs esp he being a filmmaker it's obvious he remembers his fav background music in THE moment of life.. it happens to most of us :-P watching this video is like opening my favorite present...
Just rewatched this movie. Your comment is gold :)
whenever gautham speaks i listen!!#poetry
This is amazing! I've only dreamed of having a one on one conversation with my favorite directors on their work. Please continue to do more of these!
Could have done this for Vettaiyadu Villayadu 🙏🔥
Mannipaaya song adds more depth about jessy's love to karthik❤️...love the way ARR addded his magic not only in music but adding the conceptual of Jessy's filling sorry for having a back n forth in her relationship......ARR💕 26:18
Bradwaj you are becoming my favourite!!! I have never seen some one who is so detailed or clear in his questions... Mind blowing details which is so good that I want to see all your interviews
Please do this for Neethane En Ponvasantham. It was so real I can't even explain. It really did feel like my love story. (The caption of the film is "This could be your love story".
One of the best BR interviews... Loved the sneak peek into VTV-2
That was the fastest 30 min of my youtube life. A landmark film, and everything that surrounds it. All my questions have been answered
Outstanding analysis. BR, you officially claimed this movie from Gautham for us to own so we can ask him 'Why did you make MY movie the way you did?' 😊 Very interesting angles and questions making it a pleasure to watch this interview as much as the movie itself.
One of the Finest Interview :) Discussing about the same film with different questions and getting answers from GVM is awesome ..
Wow thanks Bharadwaj sir for this intense and indepth talk with Gautham sir.
VTV is perfect cinema for me. I first saw this 10 years ago and I think there are a very few films that have touched my heart the same way it did. I strongly feel for Jessie. There are times when I feel like I've made the same choices as she did..it's not easy knowing that love is not just an emotion but a decisive commitment. And sometimes even the one you are in love with don't fullu comprehend your perspective of it.
Mannippaya is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.
I still can't listen to the title track without feeling my heart break a little. I actually on purpose don't listen to some songs that are exquisitely relatable and beautiful as such. The latter is one of them.
I'm so glad that Gautham sir stated himself that there shouldn't have been a Hindi remake. That version completely spoiled the effect of VTV. I too believe that perfect movies should never be remade. No matter what the outcome is, the original effect never retains.
Let me not describe all emotions running through my mind right now.. it's too much to process or articulate.
Love from Sri Lanka ❤️
I can totally relate to what you said..love and its pain is universal..
BR sir thank you so much for this deciphering and clinical dissection into GVM sirs mind... Never have I seen such an interview with complexities of the film simplified... your keen observations add to it... keep making such interviews... Thank you once again😃🙏
Superb interview. Loved it . ❤❤❤❤
Thank you for having this interview in English. Had always wanted to know what would have gone through this genius' mind while making this film. Thanks for providing a glimpse of that:)
Pleasant interviewer who speaks clearly without over-asserting oneself. Keep it up!
I'm happy to hear that you are working with #PuneethRajkumar n #Maddy in your film that'll be epic!!! Just no words....#Gautham I want you to do at least one straight film in #Kannada
One of the best conversation. very happy to see your vision on screen..

Such a wonderful interview.... Such a detailed conversation it's clear and neat... Thank you BR for making GVM to talk and taking those memories out once again
This discussion and analysis is long overdue and finally happening!! 😊

I just loved this interview. Thank you.
Have watched VTV a 10 times .. This will make it more meaningful when I watch it the next time 😍
VTV - that gate and fence always with Karthi and Jessie in the climax at park is breaking out, the whole movie keeping is fantastic GVM lots of kudos, discussing after 15yrs is amazing
We need another interview with him regarding the writing of
" Neethane en ponvasantham " movie ♥️💖
35 Worthy Minutes😊😄
Gvm !!!!! 👌👌 the only reason I still watch movies !!
Even though vtv 2 is excited to be heard still i feel tht nobody can replace simbhu’s role in the movie....without simbhu vtv is considered nothing i like madhavan too but everyone has their own role in each movie why did him overtake simbhu’s role?
Ya rightttt I mean idk only str fits in karthik role like it’s such a vibe, I mean yea I just wanna feel the vibe like yea Maddy I mean good actor but I would still prefer str for karthik, it’s such a disappointment but I really hope GVM does it with STR as str is now with nee transformation
Best conversation to watch for budding film makers :)
And story line is interesting for part 2 :)
I started watching your interviews recently and admired the way you ask questions to celebs. So started following all your previous videos and watched everything within a week time. Loved this detailed discussion with GVM. Looking forward for more discussions like this with many critics like Cartoonist Madan etc :)
Lovely interaction. can't wait for vtv2.
Thanks Film Companion South for making such video series which may not give you millions of views (which they should!) but such high quality content for your audience. This conversation has a repeat watch value. BR has questions which a viewer would have when they watch the movie a number of times and wonder the aspects behind. Such an awesome movie and equally amazing conversation.
was great conversation watched 6 times this movie VTV will be watch life longer, all the best GVM for part 2, STR is the best choice you must go with him
Finally I found this channel and subscribed!! Good to binge on celluloid infoedge from BR. Especially when this UA-cam space is so crammed with amateure critics trying to interview or review a movie.
I am definitely gonna watch VTV now again! Baradwaj Rangan, please find make more of like this !!!
Excellent stuff great going Rangan sir. Waiting for more gems like this.
All I want to say is Thank you so much Rangan Sir... And of course Gautham Sir for the film

Antony's idea for the twist!! So generous of Gautham to reveal. But only a best team player can bring the best of best in class people be works with. Hats off!
This was so insightful and nostalgic ❤️
Woow suorbb

I loved the discussion. My only regret is that this video could have been released on 26th..
Have been an avid follower of Rangan sir when he was writing movie reviews for films in the Hindu. Those were the times where I have read only his reviews even though I had no connection with the movie.
Pleased to see him interviewing another one from the movie industry whom I really admire.Would request BR sir to handle more interviews like this to dissect such classic films.
Song screenplays and gvm 😍😍
Sir unga flim vera level
