Firing Saleh before Hackett is insane. Rodgers is running this franchise now and that seems like such a poor move. Honestly, the Jets are a rebuild waiting to happen. Aaron looked old and the offense looked poor. So they fire the guy who was trying to fix that? I keep hearing folks on the jets calling for "accountability" but there is none for Hackett or Rodgers. You know, the two in charge of the unit that is playing the worst...
Rodgers wouldn't let Hackett take the job because he saw how Hackett crumbled under the pressure in Denver. That wouldn't be a good look for Aaron's boy.
Rodgers don't like change, he's stuck in his style of play. Look back with his antics with Lafleur at Green Bay. He can push around Hackett. No new tricks for an old dog. Inevitable that Jets not going anywhere, history repeats. People have blinders on for Rodgers. Great players elevate others.
I've never liked Saleh as a coach, but firing him doesn't resolve the Jets issues, which are on offense and he wasn't in charge of it. Putting another defensive coordinator as the HC is so a Jets thing...
I think it’s worth mentioning that Tom Brady was in a similar situation to Rodgers. Sent out by their drafted franchise, then goes to a sneakily talented team. People forget the year Tampa won the Super Bowl they were not playing that great through the regular season. They really took off once they got into the playoffs and if they had made a brash move like this Saleh firing they may not have won that Super Bowl. This has Rodgers name all over it.
I believe Rodgers was 100% behind this. He probably caught wind that Saleh wanted to move on from Hackett, Rodgers guy, and his narcissism kicked in. Their offense has been horrible under Hackett.
When they replace your head coach with a completely inexperienced defensive coordinator, it's because Aaron Rodgers doesn't want anybody messing with his running the show.
Lifelong Jersey resident. Im 57, and I've seen this from the Jets over and over. From the outside, it seems the Jets make their decisions based on fan opinion polls, no matter the owner, smh. My dad tried so hard to make me a Jets fan when I was young. So glad I resisted.
Rodgers looked great in their last win. But then they look so bad. I'm not savvy and I don't study the all-22 so I don't have a clue why they are 2-3, but when a guy that is anti-vaccine and all the rest of it seems to be in charge, I gotta wonder if his decision making isn't rooted in reality. Then there's the history of disastrous personal and professional relationships. Sorry Jets fans. You gave the keys to a kook and you just have to hope he doesn't drive the team off a cliff. And what's with retaining Hackett? Denver seems to be doing pretty good now that he's gone. I never believed in that guy for one minute and the case against him gets stronger every day.
This season has been contest between Deshaun Watson and Aaron Rodgers on which QB can bring down the morale of their respective fanbase the fastest. It's a close race, but Rodgers has a slight edge with the firing of his head coach in 5 games .... still a long season left.
this comment is somehow more delusional than the rest. y'all should look yourselves in the mirror while you read your own words aloud. pot, kettle, black, etc
To be fair not much for him to ruin to begin with. Team has been a dumpster fire for basically the last decade so nothing new besides people stupidly believing that they would be good this season.
Of course he didn't look the fking same. His ancestral homeland is being bombed to shxt and he wore an arm patch commemorating. Why tf else would a coach be fired mid season by an owner that's never done that before and be escorted out by security? It was a daily Mail story. Google it
Rich didn't feel anything about this coming, was incapable of feeling the shove by a visably clearly pissed QB, a disrespectful move. Imagine a player doing that to Belichick, Tomlin, Paton.
Salah has no business being a head coach in the NFL and never going to offensive meetings! You can’t even be a college coach with a mentality like that, the only place that works is pop warner haha
I became a Jets fan after following coach Saleh who I think is a good coach. I know now why Jets fans are so disgruntled. You have an Owner who is too involved with the football operations. Many teams have Owners who hire good football people and get out of the way. I didn't like the hiring of Rodgers, a whinner nor Hackett, a uninspiring offensive coordinator and failed head couch.
I'm pretty sure at the start of the season the AFC North was talked about as a strong division and now it's a complete dumpster fire. Oh, I'm saying that cause Josh has a concussion.
I absolutely believe Aaron had nothing to do with this. Who in their right mind would want a boss fired that lets you do whatever you wanted to do? I believe Woody didn’t like the relationship that was building between Aaron and rob and wanted to assert more control over the team
Jets put the fun in dysfunctional. AR is the real HC, he was a mistake to hire in the first place, he's setting the franchise back years.. The sun rises, the sun sets and the fustercluck that is the Jets continues...
Who drafted BYU QB Zach Wilson number 2 overall at the 2021 NFL Draft ? RS. 20 wins 36 losses .357 win %. RS will be a NFL DEF coach again somewhere soon.
My speculation of this news is that after understanding the Jets owner was hanging out with his circle jerks of wealthy friends at the stadium's private box during the game, his firing of Saleh after the London series game loss to the Vikings seemed more "suspect" because of the current situation in Gaza (Saleh had his Palestinian heritage flag on his black sweatshirt sleeve in the first five games of the season) than just being a failed NFL head coach with a 20-36 record. I read an article on Microsoft news that after the firing, Saleh was escorted off the Jets facility by a full security team which seems odd being that Saleh is Arab and was treated as though he was a "terrorist threat" to One Jets Drive. As a football fan, I've never heard of any former NFL head coach leaving his former team's facility in that manner. Let's hope there was no political nor personal influence involved with Saleh's dismissal other than being an ineffective head coach by Woody Johnson. If anyone may recall that he had a Ukrainian flag waving around his Jets facility showing his support for the war in Ukraine so don't be surprised there was an ulterior motive in his decision to fire Saleh at this time when it should've been done this past offseason.
I’m sorry rich but you can’t let this dude host your show anymore, the guy just has the same bland takes I can get from ESPN. Offers nothing unique or refreshing, please come back asap
these comments come from the type of pure nut jobs that they accuse Rodgers of being. everyone so quick with their takes. wish they could see how foolish they sound so that maybe next time they consider momentarily pausing before assembling such unconsidered thoughts.
Envious? Sure he's rich and an all-time great QB but he's a garbage person. Just like the Browns with Watson, the Jets deserve all of this for hitching their hopes to Rodgers.
@@davidleary4524equating Rodgers with a serial s*xual assaulter is absolutely uncalled for. I've never seen so many people butt hurt because someone they don't know has expressed opinions they don't agree with. to call y'all childish is an insult to children everywhere.
@LateNightwithStudBuyers I wasn't equating the 2. Just saying each franchise made a huge mistake and they're both paying for it. Sorry your comprehension is so low.
Come on Rich. I’m embarrassed that someone I tune into, for a thoughtful insight, is gonna ignore the obvious, cause it’s to hard to talk about, cause it’s not kosher!

Woody Johnson got embarrassed in front of his buddies, he was the U.S. Ambassador to UK for Trump. Jets are a joke
Rodgers wouldn't let Hackett take the job because he saw how Hackett crumbled under the pressure in Denver. That wouldn't be a good look for Aaron's boy.
Apparently Saleh wanted to fire Hackett two weeks before this.
They have on a rebuild since 2012...
This is the actual truth but it will not get talked about and the damage is already done. That’s the NFL for you. Take it from a panther fan.
Jets buttfumbled the coaching situation
Zero games have been played with the new HC. Zero. Jets were not going to make the playoffs. How do uk it was a fumble?
Rodgers don't like change, he's stuck in his style of play. Look back with his antics with Lafleur at Green Bay. He can push around Hackett. No new tricks for an old dog. Inevitable that Jets not going anywhere, history repeats. People have blinders on for Rodgers. Great players elevate others.
Yeah, gosh darn hall of fame QB calling the shots over another DEI hire!!! How dare he!!!! 😂😂😂
As a Packer fan observing the drama… This is where I came in.
Oops, Woody said the quiet part loud:
"Jets owner Woody Johnson says he fired Robert Saleh 1 day after meeting with Aaron Rodgers"
Letting Aaron Rodgers run your organization is like giving a can of kerosene and a book of matches to an arsonist.
When he talks, Rodgers will probably say this was a conspiracy orchestrated by Joe Biden. LOL
Don't Blame Rodges .
Not being in Offensive Meetings...and you're the Head Coach!? Seriously!?
That sounded insane to me as well lol. How do you coach at the NFL level and have no idea what the offensive plan is.
I've never liked Saleh as a coach, but firing him doesn't resolve the Jets issues, which are on offense and he wasn't in charge of it. Putting another defensive coordinator as the HC is so a Jets thing...

Rich bud you did a good job commentating the game. Bravo
Tom does a really nice job filling in - pretty nice to have somebody that’s just a young reporter version of Rich.
Saleh is lucky to get off the Titanic.

Solid point! They should have changed OC
The New York A-Rods. 🧠 the logo on the helmet is Rodger’s brain. 🏈
Imagine Rodgers hearing your head coach is planning to fire your BFF, his OC and the next day the owner instead fires the head coach. 😅😅😅
this was the easiest thing to see coming the moment the Rodgers trade was consummated.

Teams looking at Devante, "NY NO ain't it brother."
The jets didn’t fire their head coach. If they did rogers would be out on the street.

Disgraceful from the Jets, Rodgers will ruin that place. It's begun.
he's been an uncoachable egomaniac for years.
To be fair not much for him to ruin to begin with. Team has been a dumpster fire for basically the last decade so nothing new besides people stupidly believing that they would be good this season.
The broncos made a similar move after getting waxed on Christmas Day. Owners of each team are related and the broncos owner was embarrassed.
Was this the same upload from this morning?
Id take 1 year pay and no Jets any day 😂

I have to disagree Rich. This is nothing like Raiders situation. Better D. Better QB. Better coach. It's a 1 yr thing. Not a disaster like LV
Getting a lying POS QB like aaron was THE mistake!!!!
What he lie about? Did Pfizer sponsor your comment? 🤡
get a hobby. saleh was terrible HC
Rich hasn’t just ended coaches tenures… he was on the call for Carrs last start in Vegas
Whose run ends on Rich’s watch next?
Don't tell Rich... But what if the Raiders trade for Rodgers instead of flipping 17... 😂😂😂
When you give your team/country to a malignant narcissist... FA&FO
It is the delicate immunized genius. Oh wait I forgot I am supposed to be so dumb believe words out of A A Ron’s mouth.
Saleh is lucky. The rest of the season should prove he wasn't the issue.
Aaron Rodgers: Coach killer
What odds would Vegas had given on a bet two weeks ago that Saleh would be fired before Pederson?
They clearly hated each other and with the Jets ownership being a wild card…. How can anyone be shocked this would happen at some point…
Adam’s goes to the Jets and Mushroom 🍄 retires at season’s end!!! Brilliant!!!
Ever since leaving Green Bay it’s been a nightmare for Adams!!!🏈
If their worried about wilson all they need to say is look at Holt,Bruce-Fitzgerald,Boldin-Smith, Muhammad-Moss,Carter- and the list goes on
Let's pray that Saleh gets hired by a real NFL franchise because he had to "Just Endure The Suffering" for waaay too long. He deserves better!
Fired for wearing a Lebanon flag on his shirt. Salute to Saleh ✊🏾🇵🇸🇱🇧
Yea sure. The irrelevant country vs the guy with a 20-36 record as Head Coach. Lmfao 🤣
Yep.
Mike Francesa was calling for it.
Salah has no business being a head coach in the NFL and never going to offensive meetings! You can’t even be a college coach with a mentality like that, the only place that works is pop warner haha
Adams is not going to the Ravens - no shot. They are a run first and run second offense. Adams isn't going to be content getting 40 yards per game.

Aaron Rodgers controlling your franchise makes total sense. He won a Super Bowl 14 years ago.
It's clear Aaron Rodgers runs the Jets franchise. Firing Saleh was a Rodgers move 💯.
How in the world is Nathaniel Hackett still employed. Oh yea the diva Rodgers is his homeboy
Mike Vrabal a possibility?

Love Lindor.
Looks like an admission the Rodgers acquisition was a mistake: he can now get us on the clock for the draft. Back up the U-Hauls 🚚🤷♂️
The owner is responsible
The jets are gonna jets.
Honestly go back to the niners saleh. You would turn around their season
Jets. Cannot. Afford. Davante Adams. Only a handful of teams can.
Rodgers is poison
Let TJ or Chris or somebody from the show host ❤
Belichick?
He had to go cant coach
Flag pin got him fired. Stop pretending.
Adams has had his fill of Rodgers. that ain't happenin'.

“Humble Host”, What kind of intro is that? Nice going Tom.
He's been called that forever, mainly by Deion, who used to work at NFL Network too. This is just a known nickname for Rich amongst his colleagues.
For all you saying Rodgers runs the franchise....why isnt Devonte in the building??? You cant talk out your a-- without facts...

Why are everyone blaming Rodges , you weren't in there when he got sacked , I'm sure Saleh' s would have been told why .From Malcolm Perth Australia
Easy Blame Aaron (Its My Way Or The Highway) Rodgers
Disaster season incoming
If I were TJ, I wouldn't let Rich slide with this. Rich bashed TJ and his cowboys every day.

Why am I still here?
Don't put your face on the front of the ad and expect us to watch somebody who isn't you. Rich Isaac you putz
