I do like your videos. Although I'm not in Iceland but cold rainy wet damp new England. I had been wearing military gortex for outer shell for a long time. I passed it along to someone else. I loved the jacket though. But I'm looking for something else these days. Thanks for the advice. Great video. Cheers!
Thank you so much for the info! I hadn’t really thought of the insurance detail, that’s really good advice. Definitely need to get the ducks in a row for the police there in Kangerlussuaq. Ok so merino baselayers, fleeces and E-vent jackets worked really well for you. Did you take any rain or insulated pants along on the trip? I was actually just looking at one guiding company that is doing the route in winter with cross country skis and pulks. I’ve been dreaming of one day hiking the ACT from Sisimiut to Kangerlussuaq then crossing the ice pack to Isortoq. That’d be an adventure! Anyway love your videos and thanks for the insight.
I had Sierra Designs rain shell pants, Montbell pants, and whatever synthetic long underwear I had for the cold. Most of the time I was in the Montbell pants by themselves. They're great. Montbell Pants: www.montbell.us/ I've been hoping things would smooth out for 2 years to do an icecap crossing unguided. The biggest challenge is the logistics getting ski bags, sleds, and such to the other side. If you have any ideas on leads for Greenland Icecap crossing logistics, I'd appreciate it!
@@ALinsdauwell all I know is the stuff I’ve found online looking at the few companies advertising the rare guided expedition of the route. Honestly I’d try and find out who they use. An unsupported crossing would be an incredible challenge but possible. I mean it’d be a lot less difficult than what you got up to down in Antarctica. Or even better retrace the Nansen route!
Do you have a good recommendation for a substitute fleece? I've used a few fleece items and they've caused a nagging cough from respiratory aggrivation. Wool? I love wool and use it quite a bit, looking for something lighter. Thanks for the great videos!
a few suggestions to improve channel performance: improve thumbnail by chaning and simplifying font and get rid of '4k' badge; make videos longer, at least 10 mins maybe longer, combine related topics and use 'chapters' if necessary, publish less frequently if necessary. boa sorte
