One presumes that Ukraine will take these bridges out too.

The fact that these areas were held by low training & morale formations was well known, and limited raids by the "free Russian" brigades over a year ago prooved that. Ukraine hadn't done this before only because of limits inflicted by Washington. Limits lrobally lifted now due to the internal (electoral) affairs of the US ("Primat der innerpolitique" etc.).

One guy suggested to evacuate the whole border region for six months. One guy said "we were supposed to be entering the Donbas to protect Russian speaking people, and we can't even protect the Russians in our country". Another stated the Ukraine was brilliant to take the area were the gas reserves are as the Russians have to destroy it to push the Ukrainians out. This reminds me of the untrained troops in the Ardennes during the Battle of the Bulge getting steamrolled on Dec 16th, 1944. I don't expect Ukraine to hold this area, but this has changed the dynamic of the war in a huge way.
@@RAMelloh-ij5sl I actually assumed it wasn't. Their only restraining barrier was the dictations from Washington. As I wrote in my previous comment: those are now clearly loosened. Either because the current administration needs a visually clear Ukrainian achievement for it's internal purposes, or (definitely a possibility) that US gov. is in am middle of a semi shutdown without someone managing affairs. So a more aggressive wing of the administration uses the political void to "allow" the Ukrainians to launch an offensive into Russia. Possibly even actively assisting with Intel.
I want to know how the Ukrainians are being supplied with all their needs of food, ammunition and fuel. The other question is, why doesn’t Russia use air power to stop the Ukrainian advance.

This is nuts. I bet the Ukrainians didn't expect this kind of success. I figure they thought, "hey let's roll across the border, make a statement, and in a couple of days we beat feet back to Ukraine".
The fact that these areas were held by low training & morale formations was well known, and limited raids by the "free Russian" brigades over a year ago prooved that. Ukraine hadn't done this before only because of limits inflicted by Washington. Limits lrobally lifted now due to the internal (electoral) affairs of the US ("Primat der innerpolitique" etc.).

@@galshaine2018 And how they kept it a secret is amazing. Watch Russian state tv clips and there is genuine panic in their voices. One guy suggested to evacuate the whole border region for six months. One guy said "we were supposed to be entering the Donbas to protect Russian speaking people, and we can't even protect the Russians in our country". Another stated the Ukraine was brilliant to take the area were the gas reserves are as the Russians have to destroy it to push the Ukrainians out. This reminds me of the untrained troops in the Ardennes during the Battle of the Bulge getting steamrolled on Dec 16th, 1944. I don't expect Ukraine to hold this area, but this has changed the dynamic of the war in a huge way.
@@RAMelloh-ij5sl I actually assumed it wasn't. Their only restraining barrier was the dictations from Washington. As I wrote in my previous comment: those are now clearly loosened. Either because the current administration needs a visually clear Ukrainian achievement for it's internal purposes, or (definitely a possibility) that US gov. is in am middle of a semi shutdown without someone managing affairs. So a more aggressive wing of the administration uses the political void to "allow" the Ukrainians to launch an offensive into Russia. Possibly even actively assisting with Intel.

I want to know how the Ukrainians are being supplied with all their needs of food, ammunition and fuel. The other question is, why doesn’t Russia use air power to stop the Ukrainian advance.

Clever move from Ukraine,as its pretty obvious that Putin who idolize Stalin & Hitlers horrors under WW2... simply don't care about human life.. its all about ego and ideology, and that aspect certainly taken a toe with Ukraines move.
At the end of the day.. Putin could end this at every turn, by stopping his invasion...
Its a shame.. to see Russia in this awful state.. they need to stand up and clean house... a well balanced russia with an aspect of democracy., would be a powernation, as the talent is there, and not undermined by extreme religion etc.
