What about on a real estate website when a property is sold and no longer appears on a website? I have a PHP snippet that runs when a 404 error occurs. It checks if the URL is for a property page and if so redirects it to a landing page that explains the property is no longer listed for sale. How can I have the landing page return a 404 status so the soft 404 list stops growing?
