The recent inclusion of Apayao as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve testifies the province's richness of its species and ecosystem biodiversity. It is not called "The Last Frontier of Cordilleras" for nothing.
Lasam's proximity to the string of Cordillera mountains of Apayao is the reason why we are witnessing such an incredible array of wildlife in our municipality through a process called seasonal migration, a relatively long-distance movement of an individual or animal groups usually on a seasonal basis in search of food, mate or new habitat.
Protect the habitats and we attract amazing animals we haven't seen before.
