Thanks! I didn't want to make arched trim out of veneered-ply, and this allows me to get the effect that I wanted, without so much waste (and time!).

can this trim be placed on an exterior wall?

So would you have to cut a quarter inch off the parts you don’t bend for them to be the same width as the bent pieces? Assuming you have a 1/8th inch kerf.

This was my first thought also. Pity in 2 years it's never been addressed.

Thanks, this solves a problem I had turning a closet into a recessed entertainment center. Much obliged!

Brilliant. How wide was this piece, originally? Can you provide the product number, I'd like to order this style from your website, but cannot find it.

I definitely needed this. I have several windows I want to put casing around and an arched doorway. How thin of a sliver did you remove? Looks abut the thickness of the saw blade?

@dlittleberry This molding is made from Polyurethane, which is a hard-condensed foam (not like Styrofoam). Different materials will result in varying results. You can get a sample of a polyurethane molding to find out what it is exactly. Check out the website.

Won’t the cut pieces not match up perfectly to the non cut piece bc you aren’t accounting for the blade taking 1/16-1/8” out during the cut?

A year later... Sounds like he said "out of two pieces" because you'd cut one stick to get the 2 outer sides, then move saw to cut the second piece of moulding for the middle section.

Yes, that’s why he said to use two pieces…
•You’d rip the top section and the bottom section out of one piece and the middle out of the other piece

when you run the piece through a table saw twice you lose 1/4" of width compared to a piece that is not ripped. if no rosette is used, how do you properly transition the miters of the two pieces that are now different widths and profiles?

You have to use 2 pieces of molding. If you are doing 3 parts, the center section will come from 1 piece and the top and bottom piece will come from the 2nd piece. Here is another video that explains how this is done (Go to around 3:50 in the video):
