While I like Reiji, I don’t think she’s one of the best older sisters ever. The reason why is because she really only helped Sanji when no one was around and didn’t protect him from his brothers. What happens is that the narrative marks more the scenes that Luffy risked for his crew because they are key moments for the development of the characters (the rescue of Robin, the intervention in Sanji's family, etc).

When I feel numbness and apathy to basically everything around and nothing's new for me as a 35yo man, I come back to One Piece to find out that my emotions are still there, rumbling.
The only reason that Sanji is my favourite character instead of Zoro is because Sanji always does what is good for the crew even if it meant disobeying the Captain. We have seen this during Usopp and Luffy's fight inside the Merry when he kicks both of them when they went out of line or when Robin left the crew and he went after her without permission or when Luffy says to run in Sabaodi Archipelago, etc. Meanwhile Zoro does everything that Luffy says without question, not that I have something against him. That's why I liked this Arc when Sanji had to face the consequences of his (kindness) tendency of trying to solve everything on his own and had to put faith in Luffy
