Hi, Benedict. Thanks so much for reviewing one of our kits. I appreciate all the feedback and your honest insight. I think you've done a wonderful job with all of it. I will confirm/clarify a few bits mentioned in the video, that I can recall. Presets: the role of the preset manager is mainly to allow users to save their custom drum maps, and mixes. We only supply the default one, so you can easily revert to it. Brushes: Please note the name of the kit is "Pop Brushes." You were correct to conclude that it is a modern-sounding kit, and that was the purpose. It is not a Jazz kit, but rather a kit for use in popular, acoustic, singer-songwriter situations. We'll have a dedicated Jazz brushes kit, and once we do, I'll invite you to give it a shot 😉 "Reverb": The ambiance heard in Rock Standard is not a reverb, but 100% acoustic ambiance captured along with the kit. I also want to mention that one option we will never include is the separation of close mics from OH and room mics, for better or worse. 😁 Some other kits are dry-sounding, but if you carefully listen to them, you'll hear that they still sound ambient in the dry room, not like you have your head inside a drum. They are meant to have FX's added to them. Pan: We'll likely include this in the future update, but it will be unobtrusive. Pitch: Yes, you are absolutely correct. Overall I would not recommend pitching the drums, but I understand that a half-time or a tone up or down could possibly provide a better fit with a song tuning, while still sounding ok. If we include such an option, it will also be unobtrusive. Pricing: I guess there is a misunderstanding as to what it represents. The higher prices do not indicate "regular" prices, but rather a value provided. That's the idea behind it, at least, which may not come across as such. We will add certain options and functionalities to make Handy Drums even more usable, but the simplicity will always be there. No new features will be cluttering and spoiling what is already there. We'll only add things we can do in a discrete manner. You'll always be able to just load them up, close the GUI and get on with using them to make music. Once again, thanks so much for your time, your candid review, and your feedback. It is all greatly-appreciated. 😊 Goran
Thanks so much for being engaged Goran. Respect. Yes I realized after that the Brush Kit was aimed more at Pop - the name should have given that away ;-) My bad. I will be eager to hear a real smooth Jazz Brush Kit. I figured reverb was the recording room itself. Great, that this is as it should be. I totally agree with no on-board reverb. That is my job to add with good old-fashioned hard work, skill & experience. This was the Rock Kit and they did sound nice and "live". Real value is inestimable if used lots. Putting a price is a limit that makes em less. My core synths & effects I could never put a price on for what they have given already. Just a simple price is plenty. At $35 these are great value. Oh and what about a Rockabilly Kit??? 🙂
Hey man im having trouble installing my handy drums on reason, i cant seem to find it in prefences and also the folder tab pn the left hand side, any help would be appreciated

@@higherhz Thanks, Benedict. We'll have a lot more drums and percussion kits, and perhaps there will be something that works well with Rockabilly 😉
