Doom 1 & 2, Marathon, YDKJ, Carmageddon: The Carpocalypse, Sim City (of the many different versions), Bedlam, Maelstrom and Escape Velocity are my favourites.
Civ is my favorite and I install it on every classic Mac I own
Great list! That Warcraft II sound of axes hitting the town hall is forever deeply embedded in my brain :)
This was exactly what i was looking for! Been subscribed for a while but a best of gaming on mac os9 series is just epic! Greets from a fellow content creator.. That has finally come around on setting up old macs again!
These are great! And for me perfect timing as I just got my Wallstreet G3 up and running again. It would be great if you kept these types of videos coming, perhaps a 10 best city Builder games etc.
Thanks!
So many good memories, Thanks!
Settlers II for me, followed by Civ 2 (never actually tried Civ 1), Shadow Wraith, 3 in Three, Future Cop, & Deadlock.
Enjoyed hearing about Secrets of the Luxor. I've barely played any Mystlikes as they have typically come across as a bit stuffy to me, but that one looks very quirky!
Myst is still my #1
I remember when Myst came out that there was a backlash against it by gaming "purists" for some reason. I was just a kid at the time but i bought into it and therefore never played it but after watching this vid, I'll rectify that mistake 😁
If it doesn't run DOOM its not worth owning! I used to play Unreal Tournament on OS9 too, albiet with limited framerate! Warcraft II and Starcraft were some of my favorites too!
Hi Bruce, I love your ultrasonic video series, they are so comprehensive and I learned a lot from them
Would you consider making an ultrasonic cutter video once, I wonder if it is possible to make a cake cutter or a pizza cutter with combining multiple of those 50W generic cleaner transducers. There is a lot of content online about cleaners but so little on cutters.
Awesome video, Bruce! Thanks!
Yes i like the film Doom !
Yay! I'm glad someone else does too!
I like your videos
Rand Miller talks about how the Mac version of Myst is superior to the PC version. Would be nice to do a follow up focusing on games that were better on Mac. - Can you recommend a Mac that will run Myst + Riven - the G3 tower is appealing but I want one of those SCSI drives that do CD emulation so I don’t need to swap disks.
I have two questions for you. What is recapping actually? I watch it and get an idea but don't know exactly. Second question is, what kind of a degree do you have or training? I think I can answer one of my own questions. Recapping is repairing the computer so it's in good shape and working.
This video is pretty old, but it does thoroughly explain what recapping is: ua-cam.com/video/SjgWo7mj8-w/v-deo.htmlsi=cTc2k2SogEVjzMxd

Does anybody know of a game that had different levels and you had to break some blocks with a blue and green guy and you had powers and abilities to kill enemies. At the end of every level you went though a rainbow portal. I remeber one of the powers was a ball and another maybe a hammer. Would appreciate any leads.
Try "Lost Eden" MacOS 7-7.6 or 9
The latest Apple M3 chip is very fast, very impressive.
Too bad that it is terrible for gaming. And 3D modeling too.
