what's wild is that somehow for me it became less close once i watched the video. i think there are 3 reasons why people say Kefton didn't want to face Evion
#1 no doubt he would loose
#2 he doesn't display the subtleties and directions Erine has in his rounds ever so it can be perceived as he isn't necessarily judging that
#3 Erine pointed at Evion right before the vote indicating that she even thought she lost
i personally still got Evion as the winner of this battle but i feel its up to interpretation at this point with understanding the final verdict. Lets not knock what Erine did during this battle at all
I heard judges at SDF only get a single tie vote each for the whole thing. If that's true then Kefton used his tie up earlier in the event. So there's a chance he also felt it was a tie but couldn't vote that way.
People do definitely get caught up in names. The Twins are the greatest example of this that no matter how severe the loss, the fans will always defend them as having won.
These are people who come for the artist not the art. They judge dancers not dance. Reputation over skill. This is quite common sadly. Soraki, Rubix and Crown have that kind of audience now too.

Well said. every video with criminalz or uber-popular dancers is completely drowned by their fans. which is to be expected but sometimes annoying
I said this on the video too but I think the judges (That is Osaam and Physs) probably penalized Evion for spending too much time on the ground in that 2nd round. I've seen Alex The Cage recently lose more often than not for throwing out rounds that focus too much on floor/ground work. People like Dedson, Orb, Rochka and Killason lose for the same reason i feel like, a good deal of the time.
Probably not just focusing on groundwork though. I don’t think Ernie won because she went to the ground less

I was fine with the decision during the live and I'm still fine with it now. Especially since it gave us the Erine vs Physs battle, which is my favorite one from the hip hop SDF this year. I'm sure the young bucks who think that one's boring will come around in a bunch of years.

After rewatching I still don't feel it's a robbery personally, but I can understand why people think Evion won. Erine got it for me but I am happy both didn't come to play around with each other - because that's what makes a good battle. Big shout of to Evion and Erine.

Evion took that smoothly. I don't favor any of the two but Erine looks like she is still feeling out the movement and direction. Risk has a placement in the moment and music. Evion displayed that greatly. Look at it this way. Someone that is Going hard in the paint and someone that is playing it safe. That's the best analogy I can put it.

This was a solid exchange although I think Evion had more substance in his delivery slightly but Erin did great as well.

For me, being there in the moment it felt like a tie or maybe Evion just edged it. And I was upset not because Erine wasn't valid but more so that I felt like Evion still had so much more to give.
It was more like a damnnnn.. what could have been. How many rounds did we just potentially miss out on, and just on one vote too (Kefton man).

I still think evion won but erine did good too.. that's the problem with people.. just because they think a dancer won that automatically means the other dancer did nothing for them and this sht annoys me tbh.. llike can you appreciate what both did regardless
Erine is definitely valid. For me 1st round was a tie. The second round Evion took it. But I can see if peeps want to give the first round to Erine
I watched Erine the whole comp and I just don’t understand her movements. I must not know hip hop. Her energy and movements feel flat to me. She moves her legs and her arms but not any other part of her body. She does not move her head, neck, hands, feet, etc. There is nothing interesting about her movements. Evion def won both rounds for me. You can even hear the gasp of the audience when they declared the win. Evion def should have been in the final.
This comment will be lost in the shuffle. Life in dance is wayyyy too far into crowd pleasing. A fake vibe or a dynamic that the average person could do or even the double stomp has severely been overused. It’s like come and show out for the organization and not about the dance or legacy of u. U come 3rd to the comp and it’s getting so much worse. Some ppl have so much vocabulary and dance skill to offer and dancing and knowing what u r going to do next should be recognized
This one was tough. I would say I want another round but I don't think it would help me in deciding who won. First round was a tie for me and the second I gave to Erine.
I chose Erine for the win specifically because of the ending of Evion's second round. The crowd was feeling him and he got amped up for it but it didn't result in anything meaningful being added to his dance. His reaction was lost on me. On the other hand when Erine got the crowd up she was still delivering throughout her round.
Another example of this was Max Loove vs Kuty from a couple years ago. Last round Kuty was doing too much but the dance and in turn offered nothing to Max's round. So he lost.
That's how I see that.
