I dream of being as resourceful, productive, and efficient as you, Mary. You are such a magnificent inspiration. Thank you for sharing this with us.
I have a juicer just like that’s. It’s so fun making juice…..nothing better than fresh Concord grape juice. I always just water bath the bottles. Delicious!!
Hi Mary! This was interesting watching the process of juicing. Thank you for sharing!
Mary, I love when you do videos like this. I always learn something new. 🌻
Good evening be safe and have a blessed day
Well I learned something new today. Unfortunately I’m Florida it’s hard to find a place that grows grapes but we do have wild grapes that grow here there’s small n my mama used to make grape jelly. Thanks Mary for sharing this great video. ♥️😊👍
That looked so easy. Thanks for sharing!!!
Honemade grape juice and popcorn, yummy
Thanks Mary. I got one of these steam juicers 2 years ago. I've discovered it makes many other juices, as well. I make cranberry juice when they are plentiful around Thanksgiving. This juicer is a great way to get juice for making jelly. Water bath is perfectly fine for high acid foods like grapes, especially since you don't add sugar. I made concord grape jelly last year. It's my husband's favorite for on his toast.
I LOVE concord grapes!!
Yumm looks good mary
In skandinavia that is the most common juicer. You can juice all sorts of berries with it (strawberry, blueberry, currants, rasberrys) and rhubarb (awesome juice). I usually let the juice drain down through a collinder with cheese cloth into a pot or bucket with sugar on the bottom, stir once in a while, let it cool, bottel up and freeze
I to have the steamer and that's how I do my grape juice as well, we have several different kinds of grapes on our property. I also make grape jelly which is good.
You have inspired me to make my own juice, and I've just ordered the steamer. Thanks so much; now I am committed. LOL! Everyone have a great, productive, blessed week.
What a beautiful color
Wow amazing juicer, yes I can drink pure homemade grape juice or apple juice 😋
Really amazing 🍇🍹
That is so cool. Something new to learn
Can't wait to get one and make my own.
Loved this & your apron Mary!! You’re so blessed!
That was great to watch, thank you Mary
Thank you for sharing this video Mary! It was very enjoyable to watch your process of making grape juice. My mom had an Arbor when I was young & she made jellies, jams & juice the way many did before there were nice steamers like yours. She would have loved this method!❤
I've never seen a juicer like that. Only the electric ones for juicing vegetables/fruit. Nice to know about them. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for the informative video Mary! I LOVE grape juice and seeing you make it fresh, really motivates me to go in on a juicer with my sister and find some tasty grapes! Have a great weekend!💕
I love having home canned juice for the winter. My method is low tech, stock pot and food mill then pressured canned.
Hi Mary , short and sweet today , enjoyed the process , looks so healthy ,
You are always so clean and tidy in whatever you do Mary .
I'm making Blueberry jam (jello) today
You're such an inspiration Mary. May God continue to bless you and your family. You have a fan all the way in Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹.
Wow now I want to do this!!!
Totally loved the short video.
Wow, that pot is a wonder. Sometimes it’s hard to beat some of the original things people used home preserving.
Yummy! Thanks 🍇
Wow that's awesome 👌
Delicious!!
I am pretty sure that the water bath canning method is the recommended method for grapes/grape juice. I put the lids on mine right out of the juicer and often don't even can at all. Just turn the filled sterilized jar upside down to seal.
Remember my mom making grape jelly. No steamer tho. Long progress but so worth it.
I’m getting a steamer now!
This would be especially great for someone who has an apple tree {I wish I had one!}. Thanks for showing how to use the juicer.
I found apples to be too slow. I was able get some juice and then make apple juice with the left overs. But the applesauce was really too thick for my taste.
I juice currants this way😊
Mary can you share any other fruits you can use with this to make other kinds of juice?
Yummmyyyyyy
I’d add it to club soda
Thanks Mary...so interesting....wish I could sample some...Blessings.......
I like it with carbonated water
Have you ever made Grape Pie?? It's delicious!
Ciao Mary dall' Italia 🇮🇹
Great video. How long can you keep the Jared grape 🍇 juice ?
I bet that is delicious!
I've made grape jelly. It was good but grapes and grape juice stain even worse than blueberries.
Do u make kombucha with the grape juice as well or did u just pour it into a bottle ?
❤👏👏👏
My mom used to make this juice, but do you add a little sugar or lemon juice or anything else to yours?
Mary, was that really you that posted investment information? It just seems out of character but it had your little photo next to it. Also you would have posted it at 4 am?
I’m wondering if you could make a custom wall rub on decal for me, and how much? The peddler said to contact you on Etsy, I can’t figure out how to do it. It’s a Jane Austen quote. I want it for over my bed. If you have a link or email, that would be awesome. Thank you.
On her shop on Etsy there is a "contact shop owner" button. Click it and then send your message :)
not really healthy but have you tried grape dumplings yum yum
Several years ago, I received a steamer like that for Christmas and never felt comfortable using it. So this video was really beneficial for me. Now, if I can just find some grapes!
Oooh! You can use it for so many things! I like to put 5# of peeled tomatoes in the top and can the juice. Then I chop the tomatoes and make salsa. My recipe says to boil the salsa for an hour, or until the juicer has cooked off and it is the consistency that I like. Well. I don't have to boil my salsa at all now. And I get tomato juice as a bonus. I love the juice in lentil soup. Such great complementing flavors!
So easy to use, my sister used to bring me concord grapes frozen, put them in, got juice froze in four cups for grape jelly, she got my steamer second hand, used it for years.
It's so interesting watching this video... here in Italy we only make wine from grapes. Love from Sardinia Mary ❤
Wine is very popular here in the USA as well, a lot of it made in California, but grape juice is very popular and also grape jelly, jam, preserves, and also eating the raw fruit itself. As a child I grew up eating these & drinking the juice. Cranberry juice is also another popular juice to drink here, cranberries grow well here.
This Kansas, nearly retired, couple enjoy juicing our homegrown apples, cherries, grapes, and tomatoes...going on 31 years now! It's work...a bit steamy...but, the results are tasty. Two large stock pots, lids, strainers, and big mixing bowls...all of stainless steel is what we've always used. 🍅🍇🍒🍎
I think I would be going back for the rest of the grapes! I made grape juice 2 times this week. Got 10 pints they will be precious.
We had a grape arbor for our Concord grapes. My mom made grape juice, grape jelly and grape butter every year. My Dad even made grape wine. Mom would have loved a juicer like yours. We cooked the grapes and put it through a cone shaped food mill (manual with a wooden paddle) to remove the seeds and the outside peel ( a lot of work). Good memories!!!
Thank you for sharing never heard of Grape Butter will have to check that out.
Just ordered the juicer steamer from your link / Amazon I had seen it at other UA-camrs - but you done such a amazing job explaining the process-- yes I can do this !!
I used to have one of those steamers when I had a jelly and pie shop, my mother in law ended up with it after I got divorced.
They are pretty efficient and easy to use !!!
Sharing equipment is the practical and affordable way too own pricy items but not many people will do that anymore 😏
I wouldn’t let those grapes go to waste either 😍
Mary, I so hope your NIECE sees my question! HOW MANY GRAPES did you use? Is it by the pound??? I'd like to put up a couple gallons of juice! Can I make OTHER juices with this contraption as well??? Apple, cherry, etc???
Mary, would you show us “townies” how to can sometime please?
I have a juicer similar to the one you have, and just ordered 5 gallons of plums to make some jelly. That juice color is beautiful.
Hi Is the jelly a jam? In the UK we say jam,I've just made some super Jam from mixed fruit I had left over and just used chia seeds to finish it off...its a great recipe only 2 ingredients needed unless you prefer a sweet jam, I prefer to taste the fruits myself so just use the fruits & chia seeds and that's it made it ten minutes..
@@janeevans4758 Jelly here in New Mexico USA is the clear/wine colored gel like, and sugar added sweet. I make jam from what is left, it means I leave the pieces of the fruit in. Here we make beautiful green chili jelly, it is what we in New Mexico really love. It is a jelly with a spicy kick in it. lol Chia seeds sound interesting.??
@@deeaguilar1997 oh yum that sounds tasty, we have nothing like that in the UK & yes chia seeds are super good for you and have a combination of uses. They are available in the dark seed or a lighter seed, I just get the dark seed and they are really affordable at only £1.17 a packet, you actually only need a very small amount to use in puddings & jams.
Can you share where you got your glass jars holding ur flour on the counter from.?
Love the apron.....I made a curtain for my kitchen out of that fabric. Love your videos!!!
Cool. Actually the USDA website says fruit products are good with hot water canning. Some items like beans need a higher temp pressure cooker method.
Growing up we had a Concord grape vine. I would help my mom make jelly out of the grapes. We cleaned, and cooked the grapes on the stove to make juice. We used cheese cloth to strain the juice out. Wasn’t a bad process. Homemade grape jelly is wonderful. I didn’t know about the juicer/strainer pot until today. Thanks for posting. Love ❤️ all your videos.
I love watching everything you do.
👆🏿👆🏿👆🏿👆🏿👆🏿
Hi Mary, thanks for showing your method of preserving grape juice. Would you let me know what gas stove you have, I am thinking of changing from electric to gas. Thank you!
Oh wow! I must have one for my sister. She get grapes and would love this. I love grape juice.
I know your kitchen smells wonderful. I like to make grape jelly.
I’ve been using a steamer/juicer for decades for grapes, berries, to cook apples for making applesauce, etc. I heat my jars in my steam canner first and fill them, then just put the lids on and turn them over for a few seconds, then upright them and done! I don’t can them at all, the juice is hot enough to kill the bacteria, they are fine. You can waterbath can them for 10 minutes if you want to, but no need to pressure can them, grapes are high in acid.
I make my juice the same way. I have never had any problems with it.
This process is new to me. Why do you need the pressure cook or water bath the jar?
@@Fiorentini333 The idea is to make sure the bacteria is killed inside the jar so it won’t spoil on the shelf.
@@cynthiafisher9907 aha! Makes sense, thank you 🌼
I use mine a lot for elderberry jelly and around here in south east Michigan we have lots of wild grapes. In fact, the local river is the River Raisin.

Thank you for making this video.🌸
Thanks for sharing your talents
Thanks for sharing!
Mary, hi. What a pleasant surprise to see you this morning. The juice looks delicious. I was wondering if you could run the used grapes through a sieve, add some water and sweetener to make grape jam. Just a thought. Thanks for all you do.
Yes. I know people who do that. Waste not want not!
I had never seen a pot like that to make juice! Many years ago (17) our neighbor had a huge Concord grape vine that hung over to our side, the smell of the grapes was wonderful! You reminded me of that memory :) I would have loved to make juice out of them If I had known about that pot of yours :)) Thank you for sharing Mary!!
You probably don't need a pressure cooker for this as the sugar content is high enough. Low acid or sugar foods need pressure canning.
I likely will never be blessed to have such beautiful grapes to do this process but I really enjoy ALL of your videos! 🌸
This is amazing. I need that pot!
Did you stack all those jars on top of each other?
I’m gonna have to look into that. I’m sick of popping off skins and deseeding
Looks delicious! Thank you!
YeeHaa I just got one of them steamers for $25 from a silent action benefit. AND have about 40 lbs of Niagara grapes that are ready to pick. I’m so excited to use it THANK YOU !!!
Hola soy de Chile, te descubrí un dia y me encantó el programa. Lo mas importante es que volvi a encantar a trabajar con herramientas. Entonces he comenzado a comprar nuevamente ya que las anteriores las perdi en un incendio. Saludos estoy feliz.😍😍😍
What else could one put in the steamer, other than grapes? Could you also FREEZE the grape juice, instead of canning? I don't can,... would love more freezing techniques of everything including homemade salsas, juice, veg/blanching, .... at the start of 'you know what' last year... there was all this info of what we could freeze....like butter! and Milk! Who knew!
Estima Amiga. En cuanto me sea posible aplicaré su receta, y juntas tomaremos un delicioso jugo en un lugarcito de su amplia pradera. Desde la ciudad de México. Reciba un cordial saludo.
We always picked grapes from my grandfather's vines. My Mom always made grape juice and jelly. Nothing like homemade!
I have a similar steamer/juicer, and use it often for making juice from our local Montana Chokecherry bushes. I then can make Chokecherry syrup and jelly. 🍒
FANTASTIC! I love love love this! I never knew this is how grape juice is made! WOW! I can't WAIT to try this!
loved this video even though I won't juice, however, I NEED to re-create that lovely orchard John's parents have! thank you always for sharing.
It turned out to be a good natural juice, without preservatives and nitrates!
Hi Mary. I always look forward to your videos
I am about ready to buy some of your candles.
Can you give me the website for your apron and tee shirt. Thank you Mary, Sharon from Northern California
Loved seeing your juicing process!! My mouth was watering imagining how it tastes! Love pure grace juice!
I like this video, thank you for showing us. I have never seen this process before. I just thought you would press the grapes to make the juice. or is that just for making wine? Is that the only way to make juice or just one of the ways you can make juice? I have the Jack LaLanne Juicer it did not do to good with the grapes my friend brought over for us to make grape juice. It was a mess and the seeds left scratches in the plastic. I will never do that again.
An Orange County, CA girl here wondering why should you pressure cook items after they are jarred??
Can anyone who uses one of these pots tell me how clear the grape juice is? Are the stems and skins completely strained out? I do grape juice the old fashioned way of picking the grapes off the stems, boiling them, and straining the grapes through a cheese cloth bag overnight. I freeze the juice for making jelly later on. This pot would be so much easier!!
The grape arbor is quite interesting! What was used to make it, if you wouldn't mind sharing? Thank you! We have a grape arbor that was 80% destroyed this year with a storm. This looks like an alternative to all the wood we used.
