Aaaand he is back. Good review, I can't wait to play this shit. BTW have you considered chinese 24/7 players? They play in families, with one character only, so this is possible.
BLIZZARD... I hope we have your attention! TIME TO WHIP OUT THAT BANHAMMER. . Kripp, thanks for posting. You are doing the most to save D3, and we appreciate it.
just watched some kripp's videos from 2009 and he sounds so much better these days. I don't know if it's the vegan diet or he's got a better microphone :)
For those who don't know yet, blizzard database got hacked and some of the users' information was compromised. Go read the main article and take w/e actions you need/want to.
Blizzard said that the profiles were going to update every couple of days and they would slowly work toward having them update every time someone logs off. So let's keep checking daily to see if this bot actually got banned or not.
You have to keep in mind that Blizz owns the database. The website only shows the community whats going on. Blizz is able to extract this kind of info anytime they want. If they were interested in banning top botters, they would have awhile ago. I think this is just to bring something to the game to keep people interested while they prepare actual changes to gameplay.
common man, blizard doesnt not need diabloprogress to parse this data for them to identify the botters, they can query this directly from the database.
So in the end the feature is cool because finally a service like Diablo Progress traces bots for us. I'm kind of curious though. I rarely end up facing an elite mob more than once every 50 or more regular mobs, so how does the (obvious) bot get to kill an elite mob every ~11 regular ones?
So I'm hearing this a lot: "Why did they bother with Character Profiles? Why not just fix the game?" I need to stress this, the website team that work on this feature are seperate from the game dev team. So this feature doesn't take away from game dev time. In the long run though, as Kripp mentioned, everyone wins.
Update for the person I replied to earlier. Ali has NOT been banned. Diablo progress shows him at over 4 million lifetime kills now. There is a new champ bot on the list with over 5 million kills. Sad... They should just hire someone to continuously ban obvious bot accounts instead of just doing it in waves.
Blizzard isn't going to ban the bots. This information didn't suddenly just appear, Blizzard has had this information for some time now, and bots have still not been banned. I doubt they will do anything just because this information is now public.
Do you really think that that info on d3 progress is any news to Blizz? They were well aware of that 300k bot before and still it's still not banned. Now they also let people to see how miserably they are doing against botters.
You can calculate that. 3 Elite kills in 2 Minutes. 24 hours * 60 Minutes / 2 per run * 3 => 2160 you get from running Azmodan all the time per day. If you speed up your run to 1 Minute, we get to the 4k a day, so its clearly bots, thats out of question, and nobody will question that blizzard "could" automatically bann these accounts, but does not.
Hey Kripp, can you make a video telling us what you think about the patch 1.0.4 preview that Blizzard released today. I would love to hear your thoughts about it, thumbs up if you agree :)
The worst thing about bots is when they are banned, the botter just gets a message: you have been banned: buy the game again. And on these profiles you _dont_ see if they are banned. Blizzard should really have a big red bar across the profile with: BANNED
The people who made the profiles dont work on the actual game - why does everyone say "why did you do this instead of that?" - They have different teams for EVERYTHING!
This is like the ladder for D3. I've always said if there are GMs playing D2, all they need to do is to log on a day, check the ladder list, and ban everyone on it. Those 99s with billions experience got to be legit players amirite?
Indeed. We are able to find them out after a few days since profiles came up, and Blizz has been sitting on this data for weeks/months and did nothing about it. GG Blizzard, leaving the bot hunting to the community...
It's not the items. It's the gold. They're selling the gold for .90 or a 1$ (or whatever) per however many million. That doesn't sound like much till you realize they are doing this all day and night and selling 100s of millions every day. %300+ gold find goes A LOOOOOONG way to making you a real money income. Also to whoever says they have 300K+ elite kills legit since release date, thats ~3000+ avg elite kills per day? and ~125/hr. AVERAGE 24hrs a day everyday since release.(roughly)
By the time the bots rank up that high in the elite kills, it doesn't even matter much if they get banned. They've already made 50x the amount it costs for a new account.
Yes I'm surprised people play a game that was exploited to shit in the first week (duping, boss skipping, etc) and has an overall flawed game design (auction house). Apparently you're still playing it though despite these awful downsides. Very intelligent.
set kripp as the benchmark, give them an extra 40k elite kills just to be fair, and then ban every single other account above that. bots=history for a while
New headphones and a new shirt.... I'm impressed.
It would be interesting if you could go down the list of kills and see a significant drop off that would indicate the line between bot and player.
Aaaand he is back. Good review, I can't wait to play this shit. BTW have you considered chinese 24/7 players? They play in families, with one character only, so this is possible.
Going to the culmination point: Priceless :D
Wish I could play with this guy.. It'd be great to have a teammate and you're sure they know what they're doing for once.
Kripp's next video: Re: Important Security Update
For those who don't know yet, blizzard database got hacked and some of the users' information was compromised. Go read the main article and take w/e actions you need/want to.
Damn I miss these times. Good ol days of Inferno.
Great video, I love how you present information like this, very entertaining :D
Thanks Kripp. I was thinking of this kind of link for a while.
It's a bug that xplit has every once in a while. It also happened at 1:48 or so and krip decided to jokingly say "I am megatron".
Blizzard said that the profiles were going to update every couple of days and they would slowly work toward having them update every time someone logs off. So let's keep checking daily to see if this bot actually got banned or not.
Ali has been overtaken by nearly 100k elite kills already, what a trooper
You have to keep in mind that Blizz owns the database. The website only shows the community whats going on. Blizz is able to extract this kind of info anytime they want. If they were interested in banning top botters, they would have awhile ago.
I think this is just to bring something to the game to keep people interested while they prepare actual changes to gameplay.
I liked the way you broke that down, well done.
shit just got real, you switched your headset. how is the steelseries compared to the razer one?
a little faith is now restored in blizzard, i can't believe i didn't think of this. bravo!
common man, blizard doesnt not need diabloprogress to parse this data for them to identify the botters, they can query this directly from the database.
The top elite kill count is around 400k now. Consider that since the release of D3, only roughly 120-125k minutes have passed. Seems legit.
So in the end the feature is cool because finally a service like Diablo Progress traces bots for us. I'm kind of curious though. I rarely end up facing an elite mob more than once every 50 or more regular mobs, so how does the (obvious) bot get to kill an elite mob every ~11 regular ones?
Oh man I was rolling on the floor near the end.
He's in Toronto.
I doubt they would do anything, but I think now that the public can see it explicitly, they may be pressured into having to take action
New headset! What is it?
Can you do a video on patch 1.04?
man you're like a stormtrooper now with that head set lolol
Except they had this info before profiles came out? The profile thing just to make it public.
So Kripp... How many Friend requests did you get? :D
Didn't even realize Kripp was Canadian till he said "Diablo PRO-gress" :O
they could always upgrade their scan to time spent to gold found ratio. there is a huge abnormality between a real player and a 24/7 farming bot
Blizzard isn't going to ban the bots. This information didn't suddenly just appear, Blizzard has had this information for some time now, and bots have still not been banned. I doubt they will do anything just because this information is now public.
NEW HEADSET! what headset is it?
They HAD to know about this all along. It's outraging that there was no ban wave yet.
they had all this info internally this entire time, and deleted a post on the forums about the top elite kills profile linked in it
Tell me what amazing items are they selling, when they are botting gold in act 3 hell?
New headphones Kripp?
Do you really think that that info on d3 progress is any news to Blizz? They were well aware of that 300k bot before and still it's still not banned. Now they also let people to see how miserably they are doing against botters.
300k Elite kills. I actually thought it was possible for a split second until I used my frontal cortex.
Haven't played in a couple of weeks so I checked my profile and my only character is a level 1 barbarian, seems like I've been hacked =/
How about the fix the security errors and everyone's account first.
where da green razer headset kripp?
Hey Kripp, can you make a video telling us what you think about the patch 1.0.4 preview that Blizzard released today. I would love to hear your thoughts about it, thumbs up if you agree :)
what happened to your headset kripp?
The worst thing about bots is when they are banned, the botter just gets a message: you have been banned: buy the game again.
And on these profiles you _dont_ see if they are banned.
Blizzard should really have a big red bar across the profile with: BANNED
If he put on sharpshooter and logged off, swapped out his Nataliya's for straight dex rares, it'd show him as the number 1 dps rank.
steelseries for the win! have the exact same pair, very comfy and sound is crisp
Mine hasn't updated in days...
Kripp, if you want :) more d3 videos, I enjoy them alot
congrats krip,u found something good in d3
I dont expect any bans for that kind of accounts. Because they would be banned already.
Krip, surely you know that Blizzard had access to this data before they made public profiles right...?
The people who made the profiles dont work on the actual game - why does everyone say "why did you do this instead of that?" - They have different teams for EVERYTHING!
You're surprised a multi-billion dollar company still has people playing their game that's been out for a couple months? Very intelligent.
if you go to the website athene is number one with over 800k dps
This is like the ladder for D3.
I've always said if there are GMs playing D2, all they need to do is to log on a day, check the ladder list, and ban everyone on it. Those 99s with billions experience got to be legit players amirite?
dude kripp i couldnt stop laughing at your discovery of ali's 4 mil kills, it gets me too man.
anyone know what that headset is?
Indeed. We are able to find them out after a few days since profiles came up, and Blizz has been sitting on this data for weeks/months and did nothing about it. GG Blizzard, leaving the bot hunting to the community...
3:33 So Athene isn't #1 DPS in the World?
blizzard insta deletes any thread on their d3 forums that has a link to these elite kills or draws attention to the obvious bot numbers.
It's not the items. It's the gold. They're selling the gold for .90 or a 1$ (or whatever) per however many million. That doesn't sound like much till you realize they are doing this all day and night and selling 100s of millions every day. %300+ gold find goes A LOOOOOONG way to making you a real money income.

i like how athene is now #1 on diabloprogress just some hours after kripps video, buff abuse ftw
Well, hopefully Blizzard does something about it.
Hey Kripp, check it again, there's 2 guys who killed 400k+ elites.
Last comment 7 years ago... Oh, man
Or if you read the policy and etc you accept when installing, and creating an account. they are proberly NOT breaking any rules. :)
this profile thing is better then the game its self
how to you see your own profile?
Do you still play DIABLO 3?
If so can i add u i have been trying to do they hard core i got to 59 then i had lag so i died
By the time the bots rank up that high in the elite kills, it doesn't even matter much if they get banned. They've already made 50x the amount it costs for a new account.
How'd you know hes been banned?
actually kingkongor is, they bugged their dps, he can bug it too and be on top with 800k
You forgot to mention that he's only in Act 1 Inferno
Why dont they show game time ? >_>
1:37 Kripparrian is Batman!!! *Reaction Cat*
thumb this up if the elite kills from Ali still is at 301.529
So he isnt plaing anymore?
Yeah, I've got a 600w PSU in my rig and I leave it on 24/7 too - my electric bill is like $60/mo... Sucks to buy power where that guy lives!
Megatron FTW!
300,000 elite kills = 150 elite kills per hour, assuming the character was running non-stop for 24 hours a day since the midnight launch.
awesome information krip!!!!
All the bots have to do is cycle heroes.
Unless I understood it wrong and it parses elite kills per account.
Yes I'm surprised people play a game that was exploited to shit in the first week (duping, boss skipping, etc) and has an overall flawed game design (auction house). Apparently you're still playing it though despite these awful downsides. Very intelligent.
Its a great game :D also DH, WD and Wiz arn't meant to be able to survive 1 hit on inferno. If that's your problem, try out using a monk or barb =p
already seen your profile - why your monk is almost naked?
1:50 Krippatron rises
lol i was expecting to see kripps name as the most elites killed
We've got some serious gold find here !
where is kripp??? i think i cant see him because he got a white headset now!!! xDD
3 months and all we get is character profiles...
Kripp is Megatron at 1:50
set kripp as the benchmark, give them an extra 40k elite kills just to be fair, and then ban every single other account above that. bots=history for a while
oh snap he has a new headset
search it in google and look at krips face at that time.....
why am I explaining this?
he didnt even bother socketing the ring lol.
