    Nice work as always. I really like Ortho and Pan, they have that classic 1940's look. It works well with the classic cars.
    I'm surprised at how easy it was to get an American police car into the UK.
    Although I'm sure that it's not cheap for any vehicle, by the time you add up the shipping, taxes, customs, etc.

      You don't see many American classic cars here Brine. Now and again you'll see one driving about. Most of them are tucked away waiting for the shows and then there appears to be loads!. I saw more as a kid in the 70s and 80s in London than I do now.

    Car shows are my favorite events to shoot. The people are so willing and often very happy to be included in the photos (I love the classic and antique autos as well.) A kind word to someone about their car or their style goes a very long way. On the street I'm far too uncomfortable to shoot random people but at events like car shows or historical reenactments people are there to be a part of the show and are far more willing to be engaged in conversations and photographs. We can always count on you to bring the good content to us.

    I might have said it on here before, but I didn't really "get" 28mm until I started using it to get close to stuff. For some reason I thought 28mm was for landscapes (you just end up with a picture full of sky), but getting a subject in up close, nice and big, with everything else forced "far away" into the background does help isolate the subject in a different way.

    I always like to take my pinhole cameras to car shows. The combination of a fine grain b&w film like Delta 100 with the extreme wide angle is perfect for cars. I like to get in close and exaggerate the wild chrome details on 60s cars.

    That sure looked like a lot of fun! I wanted to shoot a car show in the town about 20km away but being without a vehicle, and my ride cancelled, it dashed my hopes of getting a couple 'Roger Approved' shots. Hopefully there will be one more farmer's market day here on Saturday, and although it's only a half of a block in size it usually draws a decent small crowd. I'll bring out the M645 and a 35mm and look for compositions with the patrons milling about. Just for fun. And who knows, maybe I will get off my lazy ass this winter and get some decent snow scenes this year. (I usually do not like shooting in the cold, but this winter I'm gonna Man Up and get out there.) Give your lovely wife and daughter a big Minnesota hug for me! Once I have scanned in my negatives from shoots this year I'll email you a few for critique if you do not mind. And if you see one you really like I'll pop off a print for you! Did you use a carrier for 6x45 to get the rebate in there? Or did you just position the negative off center?

    Nice!
    I have some harsh rules I've set for myself. If I am going to take pictures of people I want it head on. There's no way I dare that, so I use a Nikon F with waist level finder, zone focus and hope for the best. I try to look at my phone while snapping.
    I don't allow design or architecture unless there is some accidental factor, but I think I might make an exception and hit a car fair with some PanF.

    Great video as always Roger. The Chinon C5 is a great value camera, and very capable. Chinon lenses are always worth a look. All those I've used have been knocking on the door of the equivalent Asahi Pentax lenses in terms of the image produced.

      I'm sure that has led to some comedy skit level of hilarity with American tourists.

    Great video, I've recently bought a Canon EF I see people using red or other colour filters on, please could you tell me why they do this?

    • @ShootFilmLikeaBoss
      @ShootFilmLikeaBoss  9 місяців тому

      My go to are Yellow, Orange and Red. Adding a colour filter to your lens on black and white will have an effect on the colours in your scene. Usually a filter will lighten its own colour such as Red on a Tomato will make the Tomato look pale grey or almost white! But anything Blue it will render dark! Such as sky. So on landscapes the filters can add more contrast and separation of clouds and sky. Some shoot with a yellow all the time for a tad bit extra contrast.

    • @ShootFilmLikeaBoss
      @ShootFilmLikeaBoss  9 місяців тому

      I add... Yellow is weakest, orange in the middle and red is strong. (For sky)
