As a photo enthusiast I just treat the results of the GoPro a lot better in terms of lighting and color. Resolution is not much of an issue - especially if you are uploading on social media. 4k is way enough. So to my opinion do what you done in the video - through it away ;-)
This is definitely a good comparison as far as I am concerned because I expect there is a large group of people who want something more than just capturing their travels with their smartphones. That's when you quickly look at these products and 360 cameras. I, at least, am one of those people and am lucky enough to have been able to try out a lot of these things. In doing so, I noticed that a drone really takes exponentially more time to shoot your vacation film. This is such a lot that sometimes it is really at a conflict with the vacation itself. Travel companions are usually still willing to wait, because they also want to see nice shots of themselves. But once the novelty wears off, it can sometimes be bloody irritating to have to wait at least half an hour for me to finish filming.
I really understand this very well. A drone is a complex and demanding piece of equipment. One needs the proper conditions, time and skills to operate it. Plus, a drone adds so much complexity in some countries that requires a flying permit and insurance. The 360 cameras are also nice, but they film in 1080p, so the videos will probably be obsolete in a couple of years..
@@bikeophilie8226 insta360 x4 is filming in 8k.What are you talking about. With the 3m selfie stick you can making amazing fake Drone shots.Insta 360 x4 is another level.
Suitable for some and not for others, biking with a drone works well in open space, no hikers on trails to do awesome videos. Action camera has good battery life and small fits on any mount..budget friendly, both camera system has capability to bring image quality to new heights dynamic colour
We like mountains too much, we almost never have open space while biking. I wish it could be easier to control a drone with one hand, but I guess we need to wait a few years for some AR glasses that control the drone tracking your eyeball
for me this is a no-nonsense debate, as both are pretty useful in their own unique sense and can't replace each other...better make a video between an action camera (GoPro or DJI)and dji osmo pocket...that would be some worthy comparison ...
Thanks for the comment! This is really not a debate, I completely agree that both the drone and the GoPro are good for certain applications. I compare them only in the context of bikepacking, which is a huge trend lately. And in this context, I would not mind attaching a camera on a pigeon, if that produces great results, so I am comparing the outcome, not the tools themselves.

Well, throwing it away would be a waste, it is probably doing a good job in different hands right now :)

You really need a Mini 2 with 3rd party app like Maven to follow you.
