Here is one video of the final: what an huge performance, this will stand out in the Semifinal , in The Final and as a reprise of the winner of ESC2024 ... ! ❤❤❤💥❤❤❤
I started following Eurovision after the 2021 contest and honestly if we’re just considering since then I think Lithuania might be my favourite Eurovision country. They’ve just sent banger after banger since On Fire in 2020 (they really weren’t good before that tho lmaooo) This song is REALLY strong, just as well since this is such a strong year so far. Will this be the best ever result for Lithuania? It seems very possible, top 5 could very well be on the cards for this entry
Thank you Lithuania for this entry! Good to see more songs in their own language this year! This is going to do much better than people are going to expect! Like always good analysis Tom!
Thank you for your time and effort to do this analysis. I really hope that we will break the curse of "we are the winners of Eurovision" and get place in top 5 this year.

Well done Lithuania 🇱🇹 👏👏👍 Ps. Just dropped a place in my rankings. Belgium 🇧🇪 WOW! 👌
I thought this was definitely the best from the Lithuanian final and one of the top songs so far! No real stunners so far, so it looks like it could be a really competitive year!
I hope he is the winner of 2024. I totally agree with you in your analysis. Lyrics, rhythm and Stage performance are all totally in agreement. 12 points from me!
This is instantly into my top 3. Expecting it to look amazing on the Malmo stage. Concerned it might be direct competition for Olly but I’ll never be mad at quality like this!
I just love how cool he is! The performance is so ready already that they don't have to do anything extra! Go Lithuania! I'll be voting for this in SF 1 🎉❤ from Finland
I think this is going to do very well, it’s modern, fresh and interesting. The beat is so good and impossible to get out of your head, and mixed with the staging and the choreography makes it very memorable, every time I listen to this I’m jerking my head to the side and moving my shoulders to it. With elevation of the current staging this will get a lot of support and could maybe even win in the right circumstances. I think it’s main competition will be UK, it’s a similar genre and performance style to Olly and they also look quite similar which doesn’t help in distinguishing them. I think this is darker and more mysterious that what Olly is bringing though, so we’ll have to see
Fun little Easter egg here: one of the producers of this song (Džesika Syvokaitė, better known as Jessica Shy) is currently a huge pop star in Lithuania. Last month in the MAMA awards she swept and got every big award a solo artist can get.
Here’s a nice little touch from an interview excerpt here: “Silvester has also spoken about the international reaction to the song and the effort he put into making the song an earworm for international viewers: “As cliché as it may sound, we speak the same musical language. The sound resonates with everyone. The text was created with the intention that the consonants resemble other words in other languages and be simple.’”
The diaspora (at least here in the UK) always gives the Lithuanian song high points even when the song isn't good (for context we gave "Run with the lions" 12, somehow). But this year? This year I'll be adding my own votes to that because this song NEEDS to get Lithuania their best ever result, or else. Seriously, this kind of music usually isn't my thing, but I am absolutely HOOKED on this performance! Wishing him the best of luck in May 🇱🇹💚
I'm sooo happy that he won!!! I think he will be my winner this year. The only one that I imagine who could beat him for me is Joost Klein. But ofc other countries can randomly blow all of our minds so you never now. This year is pretty strong so far, isn’t it?
I don't usually comment on eurovision stuff but this is definitely one of my favourites this year and I really want to see Silvester do as good as he can and since he's looking for tips I thought I might aswell give it a shot. I really hope he adds back the camera angle from the semi final of the very high up rotated snapshots in the chorus on the beats at least like once or twice, the camera angles felt really unique and cool to watch, the flashing lights during the dance part were a big improvement though I love that a lot, for the rest say f*ck it and go even more all out during the dance part and have some flashing lights pointed at the audience aswell Either way this is one of my favourites this year and I really hope he gets at least top 10 hopefully top 5 cause he deserves it
Wow! What an analysis! You are a professional in this! Touching so many points! Despite the fact I am lithuanian, I did not like the song at first. 😊 I am glad to hear your positive review! Thanks!
It's a really cool song and performance. I really like it, it's interesting, there's mystery and there's nothing formulaic about it. The language sounds really gorgeous. I love that Lithuania is really finding its feet in Eurovision these last couple of years. Don't know if this will be their first victory, but even with the difficult draw I think it's a shoo-in for the final.
Really good analysis Tom! I'm so glad you mentioned that it reminds you of Kylie Minogue's song "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" because when I first heard this song, that was exactly my impression! I can definitely feel that same vibe. I think they made the staging even more impressive in the finals than in the semi's so I'm getting excited thinking what they could do for Eurovision itself. Perhaps Silvester could do more dancing in the moments that he can. Maybe use a wearable mic rather than holding one. But even so I'm quite happy as it is now tbh! The strobe effect definitely helps him get away with less elaborate dancing too and it fits the song vibe so well (cluby, dark & mysterious). I don't know if it's a change but 2 minutes into the song from the Finals he is putting a slight emphasis on the bit just before the drop which looks like he is having more fun with that part of the song in general. Also, 2 minutes 30 he has made another slight change in the singing which wasn't there in the semi's and gives a bit of a switch-up so it's nice to see that. Those are the only things I noticed that were slightly different but still doesn't change the fact that this song is banger for someone like me who loves EDM 😀 It's definitely a pro move to look at online reactions as research so props to Silvester! Really glad my country picked this to send to Eurovision! Funny enough, since I'm part of that diaspora I'll be able to vote for it too 😂
Wow if this gets top 14, which i think it will, it'd get Lithuania's 5th top 14 result in 6 years. That's actually incredible for a country that has never won or come top 5
Thank you for your beautiful analysis. I too think we shouldn't aim to win but aim to break our pr "previous record" so far of what we got from song selections it's clearly my number one. If we break our pr even by one spot to get to top 5 and maybe top 3 It would be the highlight of my year!
When I first heard this I thought he was singing "....I'm in lockdown, lockdown", now I can't get that out of my head (not referring to your Kylie reference) 😁
Hello, as far as I have watched from eurovision reviewers, you are one of the favorites, I have never encountered such a thorough and detailed analysis before, I am at a very high level, I bow my young head to you, respectfully, the warmest wishes from Lithuania🇱🇹🇨🇮❤❤❤
When this first burst onto the scene I didn't think much of it tbh. When I watched the NF yesterday and saw this performance something unlocked inside me and I'm now a huge fan. It's in my top 5 and will probably at least stay in my top 10 for this year.
Many people complain about the repetitiveness and flat/monotonous feeling of the composition. But exactly that is what adds to the stylisation and confidence of the piece. Because it is indeed a stylish contemporary song, with depth and catchy rhythm. Good luck in May.
I've got this somewhere between 3rd and 5th on my personal preferences now that Belgium just released theirs. It's really been growing on me. The lyrics kind of surprised me considering the energy of the song but I like that. I'm worried about the repetitiveness but I hope this does quite well.
I'm so glad for Silvester! I thought his Finale staging was not as impactful as his semi final, the flickering lights and the wide shots were hiding the choreography and the dancers. But still such a deserving winner! Massive competition as well, what a brilliant collection of songs, well done Lithuania!
This sounds like something NEW which is a good sign. I was fascinated by the innovative (and well produced) beat. I just wished he would fill out the song to a full three minutes. It just seemed to end too abruptly and too soon IMO. This will surely do well.
This song gives me similar vibes to Filip Baloš' entry for Serbia last year Novi plan drugi san. Which I love because that was one of my favourites from last years nationals. Hoping that this song goes well at Eurovision and maybe a win for Lithuania 🤞. Also on side notes, if 2020 went ahead I'm sure The Roop would have been near the top with On Fire.
🎉🎉 finally my favourite from a national selection wins, I've been let down by all the rest liking songs that didn't win. This is easily in my top 3. Maybe my top 1 since i can't vote in esc for Zorra.
It's such a banger. That first bass drop is so incredibly good and it's so catchy, been humming it for weeks now. Hard to tell how this will do in Malmö, male-performed electro pop is a bit of undiscovered land in ESC lol. We had Luke Black last year, though Luktelk is a bit more approachable. I want this to do well, but it's the kind of song that could get drowned out due to its repetitiveness.
Hi Tom, love your channel, I really like Lithuanian entry. I just hope that this does not get trapped in the so called “Eurovision bubble echo chamber”. For those that don’t understand, during the buildup for last year’s contest in Liverpool the fandom railed behind countries like Serbia 🇷🇸, Austria 🇦🇹, Spain 🇪🇸 and Slovenia 🇸🇮 as a potential winner and it really got stuck in most peoples head that these could be potential winners or get them top 10 placements because of their popularity by the fandom, but what people need to understand at this point is that the fandom is a minority of the 350 million people that watch Eurovision and vote Eurovision. Then at the final when these countries didn’t get the public votes the fans and viewers were expecting they were disappointed and shocked. I’m praying that this does not happen to Silvester Belt because at this moment he is one of the popular ones in the fandom. 🤞🏻
Have you noticed lots of elements like staging, lights, moves and even some parts of music taken from "on fire" perforned by The Roop? Would like it if not too obvious copy..
@@ESCTom strange. Even moves with shoulder, lights, other elements… that song back then was a success and won 1 place on virtual voting on Eurovision.. well it’s normal to use different elements in own songs, hope it will bring luck this year :)
More precise translation of "luktelk" is "wait a little". Wait is like you can wait for very long, luktelk is for short period of time - like in the second line of the song - for one more minute.
Hey tom i have heard that megara from Benidorm fest 2023 sent in a song for uvpsm (una voce per San Marino) its called 11:11(yes its called that) its on UA-cam so you Can Easily find. If you Can't find its the Clock with the weird pink goo on the ground :)
Hey Silvester, if you’re reading this comment, please keep the staging intact, just adapt it for the bigger stage with a couple more closeups, this package is Eurovision ready! Hearing the song I clearly hear a Y2K trance sound but with a harder beat and more modern styling, I’ve noticed on TikTok that the whole Y2K aesthetic is becoming popular with the kids (which as an elder Millennial I find quite funny seeing todays kids try to emulate the style that was popular when I was a kid 😅) and it’s starting to be reflected in the charts, I’m hearing more trancey dance songs and UK garage throwbacks on the radio recently Throw in Finland plus Austria having a 90s rave song and Netherlands likely having a happy hardcore style banger, this might be the year of the 90s throwback
As A Lithuanian `Silvester Belt` won in the Finals. I think that is really good but Other Lithuanians Are suggesting that Lithuania reruns the finals. Because some of the votes of `The Roop` were not counted. I think `Silvester Belt` Won anyway tho. BTW great analysis, enjoyed it a lot!
Looking at the division between the first and second half of the first semifinal, I am wondering what the chances are that all seven countries in the first half qualify for the final. Probably not high, based on how the running order will affect how people rank these songs, but I would not be surprised if seven of the best ten songs in SF 1 were in the first half. So far everything from those seven countries has been really encouraging and that is much less the case in the second half. But it is probably more likely that I am not giving most of the countries in the second half enough credit and one or two of the countries in the first half flop with the public.
@@ESCTom thank you for the reply! You explained it here and in your SF allocation video a lot more succinctly and intelligently than I explained my thoughts lol. It does seem to me that this will happen but at the same time it is very hard to say with certainly with only half the songs having been chosen and announced, even if we do know the songs in the national finals for half of the remaining countries.
You seem to underestimate internet bubble. The vast majority of voting population is our parents, ages 50+, and this song is very gen-z. It's not a cookie cutter semi final as You might think. People seem to forget that Eurovision is not only for internet era people
I'm so glad this went through! I love this song - and after Germany, I couldn't have dealt with two major disappointments in one weekend. Too bad I can't vote in the first semifinal 😕
Lithuania was gonna Q regardless, very favorable set of countries voting in this seminfor them, but Luktelk has imo the highest possible highs out of what they had, might top 10. It absolutely isn't opening the semi, it's been made clear that only songs in english open the shows.
@@ESCTom but it still had english, most importantly in the chorus. It's apparent that they avoid songs fully non english as openers, for whatever reason
I can give you somewhat of my try to translate this song: Day one And again another I would say here Date/Time stopped I'm going there I'm going here And when it gets dark And so on again Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow I promise to love you tomorrow Good, good, good You will find me at (good)night Am i still alive? Do you still know me? The sun doesn't rise Tell me, will you stay around? Wait a bit, wait a bit One more minute, wait a bit Wait a bit, wait a bit One more minute, wait a bit Night alone The night is different As always I'm all over again Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow I promise to love you tomorrow am i still alive Do you still know me? The sun doesn't rise Tell me, will you stay around? Wait a bit, wait a bit One more minute, wait a bit Wait a bit, wait a bit One more minute, wait a bit We stand in the silence of the radio playing I don't want to dance anymore, I don't want to dance anymore We stand in the silence of the radio playing I don't want to dance anymore, but I need to dance Am I still alive? Do you still know me? The sun doesn't rise Tell me, will you stay around? Wait a bit, wait a bit One more minute, wait a bit Wait a bit, wait a bit One more minute, wait a bit Some notes: “luktelk” can also be translated as “hang on” In Lithuanian “good night “ translates to “labos nakties”, but in here the meaning somewhat changes due to Lithuanian language having noun structures who would be compared to German “Nominativ” , “Dominativ” noun structures, all being having more of them Some words just sound better in Lithuanian than in English like “Gulbė” - “Swan” (google pronouncition).

i was so happy when this won!! 🤩
Ačiū ❤🎉🎉🎉
Also, seeing everyone on their feet for Luktelk during the superfinal performance was so nice to see! 😍
This is great!😍 Good luck Belgium!
Great shirt!!!!
Big 👍 all round for Lithuania. Love the song, great visual representation and in native language. Great analysis as always. 😊
thank you 🙏🏻
Ačiū!
🎉🎉 finally my favourite from a national selection wins, I've been let down by all the rest liking songs that didn't win. This is easily in my top 3. Maybe my top 1 since i can't vote in esc for Zorra.
Very good 🇱🇹👍👌🎶🕺👏👏👏👏
Åhh I love it❤❤
It's such a banger.
I want this to do well, but it's the kind of song that could get drowned out due to its repetitiveness.
yea this is way way more approachable than luke was
This has to win
15:05 Forgot about Rain of Revolution 2017 I liked it alot.
Our Silvester the best 🤩🤩🤩🤩😄😄
Have you noticed lots of elements like staging, lights, moves and even some parts of music taken from "on fire" perforned by The Roop? Would like it if not too obvious copy..
honestly i didnt notice anything like that
@@ESCTom strange. Even moves with shoulder, lights, other elements… that song back then was a success and won 1 place on virtual voting on Eurovision.. well it’s normal to use different elements in own songs, hope it will bring luck this year :)
🕺👯🕺💃🕺🤸🕺👍💋💫лучший молодежный танцевальный трек всей Европы Литва заслуживает 1 место в Швеции❤❤
More precise translation of "luktelk" is "wait a little". Wait is like you can wait for very long, luktelk is for short period of time - like in the second line of the song - for one more minute.
Kylie Minogue. I can't get you out of my mind.. Is exactly what it reminds me of. Not bad.. Even if the sound is old.. It sounds fresh.
Hey tom i have heard that megara from Benidorm fest 2023 sent in a song for uvpsm (una voce per San Marino) its called 11:11(yes its called that) its on UA-cam so you Can Easily find. If you Can't find its the Clock with the weird pink goo on the ground :)
I’m going wait as I will likely do a shorter reaction vid for UVPSM and I’m expecting them to make the final 🙏🏻
They're back home so maybe they didn't pass.
Hey Silvester, if you’re reading this comment, please keep the staging intact, just adapt it for the bigger stage with a couple more closeups, this package is Eurovision ready!
Hearing the song I clearly hear a Y2K trance sound but with a harder beat and more modern styling, I’ve noticed on TikTok that the whole Y2K aesthetic is becoming popular with the kids (which as an elder Millennial I find quite funny seeing todays kids try to emulate the style that was popular when I was a kid 😅) and it’s starting to be reflected in the charts, I’m hearing more trancey dance songs and UK garage throwbacks on the radio recently
Throw in Finland plus Austria having a 90s rave song and Netherlands likely having a happy hardcore style banger, this might be the year of the 90s throwback
But it is probably more likely that I am not giving most of the countries in the second half enough credit and one or two of the countries in the first half flop with the public.
yea i definitely think this can be the first SF since 2018 that has more qualifiers in the 1st half
People seem to forget that Eurovision is not only for internet era people
The vast majority of televoters are 50+? That is who all voted for käärijä last year?
@@ESCTom😂😂😂😂
Completely disagree, a lot of young people watch Eurovision and the number keeps growing every year
I'm so glad this went through! I love this song - and after Germany, I couldn't have dealt with two major disappointments in one weekend.
Too bad I can't vote in the first semifinal 😕
18:45 The Diaspora voting really hard was seen in the German speaking Nations last year for Duje
❤🎉
It's a pity 2020 is not counted which might be very good as there were the Roops with probably they best song.
The Baltics are gonna do what the Nordics did last year!
Lithuania was gonna Q regardless, very favorable set of countries voting in this seminfor them, but Luktelk has imo the highest possible highs out of what they had, might top 10.
It absolutely isn't opening the semi, it's been made clear that only songs in english open the shows.
Sekret opened and that wasn’t fully English ?
@@ESCTom but it still had english, most importantly in the chorus. It's apparent that they avoid songs fully non english as openers, for whatever reason
Where Can i Bye your t shirt? 👍👍
Lithuania 🇱🇹 ❤ 🇺🇦
❤🇱🇹❤️🇸🇪👌
We are looking forYou ,evribody to Lithuania 2025
this is like if sweden decided to be edgy omg this is so good so slick and so eurovision this has top 10 written all over it
I can give you somewhat of my try to translate this song:
Day one
And again another
I would say here
Date/Time stopped
I'm going there
I'm going here
And when it gets dark
And so on again
Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow
I promise to love you tomorrow
Good, good, good
You will find me at (good)night
Am i still alive?
Do you still know me?
The sun doesn't rise
Tell me, will you stay around?
Wait a bit, wait a bit
One more minute, wait a bit
Wait a bit, wait a bit
One more minute, wait a bit
Night alone
The night is different
As always
I'm all over again
Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow
I promise to love you tomorrow
am i still alive
Do you still know me?
The sun doesn't rise
Tell me, will you stay around?
Wait a bit, wait a bit
One more minute, wait a bit
Wait a bit, wait a bit
One more minute, wait a bit
We stand in the silence of the radio playing
I don't want to dance anymore, I don't want to dance anymore
We stand in the silence of the radio playing
I don't want to dance anymore, but I need to dance
Am I still alive?
Do you still know me?
The sun doesn't rise
Tell me, will you stay around?
Wait a bit, wait a bit
One more minute, wait a bit
Wait a bit, wait a bit
One more minute, wait a bit
Some notes: “luktelk” can also be translated as “hang on”
In Lithuanian “good night “ translates to “labos nakties”, but in here the meaning somewhat changes due to Lithuanian language having noun structures who would be compared to German “Nominativ” , “Dominativ” noun structures, all being having more of them
Some words just sound better in Lithuanian than in English like “Gulbė” - “Swan” (google pronouncition).
Didn’t notice you talked about the lyrics.
