    Another EXCELLENT review of what looks like the segment leader (to me). Many thanks.

    Forgot to mention the middle seats do not stow n go because of the hybrid battery, but ARE still removable. Awesome review!

    Sold my 2014 Durango to move into this Pacifica Hybrid... A world of difference on getting kids in and out. Plus the storage availability plus convenience factor puts my Durango to shame. Hesitant initially bout the stigma driving a minivan but glad I did! Plus the 7500 tax credit and CA energy rebates made this a no brainer!

      The Pacifica is so much more useful with kids and travel. I’m sure the fuel economy is improved as well. Thanks for sharing your experiences. Drive safely!

    Great review. We own the 3.6 Gas only version of the Limited 2WD all gussied up and with the Stow and Go seating and love it. As an FYI, our first Minivan was a 1996 Grand Caravan (optioned out) that we loved thoroughly. Our first big drive with it with less than about 700 miles on it was the Blueridge Parkway from start to finish. We began in the Hampton Roads area and started at Afton Mtn driving the parkway from Afton through Boone, Ashville and ending at the terminus in the Great Smokies in TN. We then went to visit in the Nashville area before returning the VA via I40, I81 and I64 to VA. that route allowed us to drive on varied terrain and roadways and it gave us plenty of time to evaluate the cars Pros and Cons. The only real complaint I have is the transmission; the transmission is great for flats and climbs, its butter smooth but will not allow the driver to select / lock in a lower gear when you are in hilly terrain. It's not a deal breaker / huge design flaw, but please Chrysler, bring in an 8spd Auto with a Manual option and paddle shifters as an option! If you do, I'll be in line for an update! OBTW, Lauren failed to mention the fold-down roof rack. Easy enough to do as they are almost transparent until you want to use them, the design is so slick!
    Bottom Line...great design with one minor "nit" IMO. Yes, we still own this car.

    Nice review! I agree about the back wiper location. Also, I wish Chrysler would change the location of the driver door lock buttons; those buttons are now located where they are easily bumped and locked! I have hit them so many times and locked myself out that I now hide a key on the vehicle.

    Nice review of a very nice vehicle. Really like the look of this mini-van on the outside. Interior is nice as well, with great features, although I'm with you on the infotainment system functionality & the screen should be a larger than 8" IMO. Covered most of the important parts Lauren, but how many USB ports does this Pacifica have?...Really like the design approach of what FCA is offering in their other models as well. And as an owner of a foreign made SUV, I might be persuaded to buy American down the road if Chrysler, Ford, etc., continue to produce these high quality vehicles. Thanks again Lauren really enjoy your reviews & have subscribed to your channel!

    Great review. Have a 2021 PHEV Pacifica with over 20k miles now. No problems, drives well in the snow (with studded snow tires), overall the most versatile vehicle I’ve ever owned….not the “coolest”, but I’m over buying vehicles to impress other people!

    I had a conventional Pacifica. It is an excellent vehicle. Great ride and the fold down seats allowed a 4X8 sheet of plywood. Great van..great review. Glad you mentioned hybrid insurance costs. They are significantly higher than a gas engines car.

      @Zazoo Kluk the various mechanical parts of the car are crazy expensive. The generator is $10k. The converter $1500. That doesn't even add the gas side. When they crash these things are destroyed and they total the car. Even a 2 yr old car.

    I just bought a 2020 Hybrid Limited for $9,700 off MSRP. We love it. I like the quality of the Toyota Sienna, but the style, price and plug-in hybrid won me over. Plus only plug-in hybrids qualify for the $7,500 tax credit. Plus the hybrid components have a 100,000 mile warranty.

    I saw searching something else but had to come comment for the colossal issue of you saying this car has 82 MPG. It’s MPGe and those are VASTLY different things even though MPGe just is a poor metric overall.
    You can change the title.

    Why would the insurance cost consumers more for this hybrid? Is it possible that the adjusters know you’d save a bit on gasoline, so they aim their sights on the potential windfall? Hmmmm .....

    • @CarCoachReports
      @CarCoachReports  3 роки тому

      Indurance rates has nothing to do with the fuel or propulsion type. What it is with is replacement components. Hybrid components and battery packs are much more expensive than engine parts. If you have that vehicle in a bad accident it’s going to cost more to repair it and replace the components.

    "masculine minivan"? I don't think so. The headlights on the 2020 pacifica remind me of a woman's eyes, it is so feminine. The 2021 pacifica has more square looking headlights, much better.

      Buying a 2020 vehicle end of the year is not a bad choice as you get huge dealer discounts and incentives. In new 2021 model the price is about 6k-8k higher.
