Ramiro Jimenez: What you said is not accurate. Jesus was not perfect in all ways, as He took upon Himself sinful flesh to identify with us. In other words, He was sinless in spirit while in sinful flesh (due to entropy), which is how we are to walk, even as He walked (1 Jn. 2:6). In His Second Advent He will appear without sin: in a glorified body (Heb. 9:28). God is: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and these Three are one.

@@Puppythuppa Rajesh Gowda. Y.R.: Jesus was made in the likeness of sinful flesh (Rom. 8:3); made in the likeness of men (Phil. 2:7). The mere fact He manifested in the flesh; that His body grew older, implies the body H e had was also sinful flesh. This does not mean He sinned, rather He walked perfectly in His inner man while in the sinful body, which is how we are to walk: (1 John 2:6) "He that saith he abides in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked." And how did Jesus walk? He walked perfectly by keeping the Ten Commandments while living in the body that is sinful due to entropy, which is how we are to walk. This is why it says, "So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation (Heb. 9:28). This implies the first time He appeared with sin, as He took on a body of sinful flesh, which makes atonement for our sins when we come to confess and repent of our sins with godly sorrow. God is Three Persons.

    • @johncollins6755

....Greg...there is not one scripture that says Christ indwelt a "sinful body, a sinful flesh". IN FACT...every verse that speaks of his human nature, declares that he was...NOT...after the flesh of man, after the flesh of Adam. There is not a single verse that "implies" Christ had a "sinful" body. The Holy Spirit came upon Mary and caused her to conceive the Son of GOD. If the flesh of Christ, were "sinful flesh", then it had to be imparted to him, through the Holy Ghost.
Let me ask, when Adam was created, was he created in sinful flesh? Adam was created in perfection. It was after the disobedience, that the "sinful" nature was imparted upon him. Where are the verses that say "we age, because, it is sin that ages us"? Where are the verses that say "we remain infants, because there is no sin in us".
This is a troubling concept that you propose. You might take some more time and do some more research on it. I am certain that you will not find anything written, by Christian men/women, regarding the "sinful flesh" that Christ dwelt in. You simply have misread what the scriptures are saying.
If Christ were in sinful flesh, he would not have been a perfect atonement for our sins. It was his flesh, that was offered up for our sins.

Concerning the purpose of the opening of graves in Mathew, Jesus Christ needed first fruit wave offering to take to the Father which was the people in Abraham's cave.
    1) Mat_27:52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
    2) Heb_11:22 By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones. (Which were taken to Abraham's cave near Jerusalem so Joseph was resurrected)
    3) Joh_20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

Nothing in Matthew 27:52,53 says anyone was resurrected. "52 And the tombs were opened, and many bodies of the holy ones who had fallen asleep were raised up 53 (and people coming out from among the tombs after his being raised up entered into the holy city), and they became visible to many people."
The Greek verb e·geiʹro, meaning "to raise up," can refer to a resurrection, but it is often used in other contexts. For example, it can mean to "lift out" of a pit or to "get up" from the ground. (Matthew 12:11; 17:7; Luke 1:69) Matthew does not say that "the holy ones" are "raised up." He says that their "bodies" are. Evidently, the earthquake was so powerful that the tombs were broken open and corpses were thrown out of them.
Lets apply a little logic and reasoning. The parallel accounts in Mark 15:38,39 and Luke 23:44-47 don't mention this at all. They mention the splitting of the curtain and the roman officer saying "Certainly this man was God's Son." (Mark 15:39)
Secondly, if true, this is the ONLY resurrection of multiple individuals recorded in the entire Bible. SURELY it would receive more than two verses. All the other solo resurrections, OT and NT, are given more space than this.

Pretty good study, thank you. I do not believe that ALL O.T. saints were raised as per the passage in Matthew. But I agree, they represented the "Firstfruits" of the resurrection. Christ rose early Sunday morning..witnessed to Mary, then ascended to heaven to offer His own blood in the true Holy of Holies. Later, as risen High Priest, he took a sample (wave sheaf) of the harvest to fulfill the O.T. type. That is who these saints were...As well, it seems to me, they would have appeared to persons who KNEW them in life, and who knew they had died. Just my thoughts. I do touch on this in my E-book.

...how did the apostles know it was Elijah and Moses on the Mount? They had never seen them, no photos. How did Peter know Jesus was the Son of GOD? Have you considered that there was silence of the word of GOD for 400 years, prior to Christ? All that speaks against them being "known" in life by those they appeared to.
You are correct of them being O. T. saints. YET...let me ask you, are you familiar with how the Jews buried their dead? After the body decayed, they would take the bones and place them in estuary boxes. THEREFORE...there were ...NO BODIES...IN THE GRAVES. Had the scriptures said, the bodies of the saints which slept...came out of their estuary boxes...THEN...the scripture would have recorded precisely where the "bodies" were at...according to your input.
I trust you realize that there is much more going on here with the verse......I Cor. 15:44; "...it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body, there is a natural body and there is a spiritual body...". Their bodies had long ago decomposed into dust, the natural grave did not hold them. Isaiah 14:5 - 17 shows the eternal resting place for the O. T. saints...until the time of Christ. Jesus also show us this with the account of Lazarus and the rich man.
Eph. 4:8 could not be more clear; of their ascension with Christ. I Cor. 15:20; ..Christ is risen from the dead....and become the first fruits of them...THAT SLEPT...O. T. Saints.
      Bless
      John

Matt Gardiner, the pastor in the video actually covered what most don’t, but didn’t expand upon it to the point that you would catch it, so I will.
Koine Greek which 1st COR 15:20-26 was written in lacks the constraints of punctuation that we now have in the English translations of the Bible. You can’t just read what is there and assume the punctuation is correct. It is kind of like the debate over the oxford comma.
When you read Leviticus 23 and the offering for the Feast of Firstfruits you notice that there is an unblemished Lamb and the Sheaf of the Wave offering as one offering. This would conclude more than just Jesus went up on that Feast of Firstfruits.
When you also understand that there are two Harvests, two Firstfruits offerings of those two Harvests, two Passovers, and so much more that helps you to understand the end time things, then you can start looking at the passage regardless of the punctuation.
Jesus was crucified and resurrected during the 2nd age, the Age of Israel. We are in the 3rd age, the Age of the Gentiles. I wouldn’t be surprised to see another Firstfruits group and another Harvest group, as Matthew 27 is talking about a Firstfruits group, and the rest of that Harvest has taken place.

Jon Wertz You mean pagans historians or Jewish historians who didn’t even knew who Jesus was ? Did you notice that nobody recognized Jesus after his resurrection ? Why? Because he appeared in glorified body. The Bible says the tombs were opened and the bodies of many holy people (the saints) were rises to life (so their bodies must have been changed to glorified bodies) and they appeared to many (in Jerusalem). It is not said that the Jews (Israelites) in Jerusalem recognized them. This is the point. What has happened to them ? Ephesians 4 tells us that after Jesus’ ascension he took captives with him. The “captive” is everyone who believes Jesus is Son of God, so the Saints who ‘came out of the graves’ were also captives. The period between Jesus’ resurrection and ascension is 40 days, so the resurrected Saints must have been seen in Jerusalem for 40 days also.

John, why is it such a stretch to think the apostle Matthew was simply prophesying about a common resurrection of the saints (in Matthew 27:52-53) which would take place in the future? How about the pre-tribulation rapture of the Church (and the old testament saints) at the same time, in our time? Two wave loaves: one barley, (old testament saints) one wheat (new testament saints), waved at the resurrection of the just... in our time (the true fulfillment/finishing of Pentecost, not the shadow). Paradise (and the old testament saints), in this scenario, were led "captive" into his presence... where they are today (paradise moved into the heavenly). The Church age saints who have died also now enter into Christ's presence... all waiting for glorified bodies (Hebrews 11 says, that "they without us could not be made complete"). In the above scenario, Christ IS the firstfruits of them that slept (him alone). As always, not dogmatic about any of this, so take with a grain of salt and prayer.

1 Peter 3: 21 "... by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:". 22: " Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; ...". AND 2 Corinthians 5:8 " We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. "
Since Jesus is in heaven with God interceding for us and we are absent from the body then we are in the presence of Jesus, we must go to heaven at death.
I think the spirits of those in Paradise were taken to heaven when Jesus ascended after His resurrection except for those raised at His crucification. I think, possibly, those raised at the crucification were the ones who were New Testament saints whom went to heaven after their time on earth.
If they were raised in anything other than a glorified body, all injuries or sicknesses would have been present and not a good representation of the resurrection. If they did have their glorified body, it can never die so returning the body to the grave would be impossible and a bad example.
People seeing deceased love ones coming out of the grave still injured and sick, walking around that way then going back to the grave to die again would go against the scriptures and might convince some people they don't want any part of it.
It would make sense to "show what a great thing the resurrection will be" by showing them in their glorified body (all sickness and injuries gone), then their ascension into heaven.
Since the Bible doesn't say much about it, I could be wrong, but if Jesus wanted to show people what will be given to them if they believe, it seems like Jesus would show His rewards the best way He could. The best would not include having to see your loved one in the same condition as when they died and when they are through visiting, you would have to rebury them and visit their Graves until you also died. Sounds like the zombie movies and not something to encourage people to believe. Its possible that they ascended just after Jesus ascended to the right side of God in heaven. Acts 1: 9-11

Ark Man...it says "and came out of the graves...AFTER...his resurrection. It does not say how long after his resurrection. YET... Eph. 4:8 does say that ..When...he ascended on High, he led captivity captive. This would be those O. T. saints who had raised (at some point) after his death, who ascended at the same time as he did.
We are told that; "...it is appointed unto man...ONCE...to die, and after this, the judgement..." The fact that they were raised out of their graves, and ascended with Christ, shows that they were...JUDGED...and had been found faithful. Otherwise, those events would not have included them. They were raised in the same kind of "status" that Christ was. BODILY...glorified, eternal, perfect.
Just as we will be when Christ returns again for those who have fallen asleep in Him. "...It does not yet appear , but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is...".

And all the promises of God especially to Abraham, was fulfilled and he saw His Seed like the stars of heaven and sand at the sea shore. There are those, who, in order to fit their narrative, their theologies, place man-made doctrine upon the scriptures. I have continually asked for the scriptural reference(s), that say; "...there must be a natural completion, a natural fullness...of every thing that is given in scripture...". After all these years, there has not been a single person, which advocates this, that has provided me with the biblical reference(s). WHY? THERE IS NONE. As stated earlier, this is a man-made concept, which flies in the face of the totality of scripture.
All scripture is GOD-breathed. All scripture emanates from GOD, who is unchanging. Does GOD relate to those who fail to continue in the spirit, who embrace the things of this natural world, this carnal life, in an attempt to draw closer to Him?
Knowing that GOD is a Spirit, and he seeks such to worship him, how is it proposed that we do so in a natural, carnal manner? We don't, and we can't. Paul writes to the Galatians and asks them this question; "...Having begun in the spirit, are you now made perfect by the flesh...?"
This is what the Word speaks to us about. Putting on the mind of Christ, walking after the Spirit. Being filled, daily, with the Holy Spirit.
These are the concepts and biblical positions that "believers" who advocate these position, abandon.
      Let's talk of these matters.

@@soteriology1012 ...taking your reference to Gen. 6:4, here are some things you might consider. "Giants in the land"...you know that we have "giants" today, don't you? Most of them play in the NBA. Compared to a person who might be 5'8", these fellas who exceed 7', just might be considered "giants".
That is just to make a "today" reference. As for the days when this was written, I do believe there were men of extraordinary height. If you look at the account of David and Goliath, you will see that most commentaries suggest that Goliath was more than 9' tall. A giant of that day.
If you go further back into the history of the bible, you will find that people lived to be almost 1000 years old. Not all of them but, many lived to be in the "hundreds and hundreds", of years old. This came about due to the freshness of Creation. Both the age of living, and the size of some of the people, were reflective of this time frame.
Now, the "giants" and the "mighty men" are mentioned separately. There were giants at the same time, when the sons of GOD went in to the daughters of men...who produced "mighty men of renown". I think that those two different "indications", are reflective of two different off-spring. Notice the difference.
Now for the part of "sons of GOD" came into the daughters of men. When Luke gives the generations of Christ in chapter 3:23 - 38, when he gets to Adam, who does he say that Adam was the "son" of? It says that Adam was the "son" of GOD. If Adam was the "son" of GOD, it made Cain the "son" of GOD, and Abel the "son" of GOD, and Seth the "son" of GOD. Simply to show you, that the "sons" of GOD spoken about in Gen. 6:4...were those of the lineage of...ADAM. EASY.
That is the easy part. Now, I will offer you some things that are not readily accepted, but makes perfect sense, to me, for the "daughters of men". You are free to not accept it, and I will completely understand.
Many say that the "daughters of men" is in reference to the children, the daughters of Cain. Due to his rebellion against GOD and being driven to the land East of Eden. The difficulty I have always had with that is: Cain was the off-spring of Adam. Adam was a son of GOD, therefore Cain had no choice, being of the same lineage to be a "son" of GOD as well. His sin did not change his origin.....So who could be the "daughters of men"?
Theologians say that Chapter 1 of Genesis, is simply restated in chapter 2, regarding Adam and Eve. I don't see it that way. When you look in chapter 1:26 - 29, it gives variance to the garden account.
To the point: GOD made them "male and female". If the lineage of Adam began the "sons" of GOD, due to that scriptural notation...THEN...the "male and female", of Gen 1, began the lineage of the: "sons and daughters" (of men and women). Which arises in Gen. 6:4 stating; ..."...the daughters of...MEN". Now, where is the only place in scripture, the only previous reference to "men" in the creation account? That would be in chapter 1:26 - 29. So, I consider it that way, it may not "work" as well for you , as it does for me, but as I say, it makes the account in Gen 6 understandable.
I CAN ASSURE YOU...that the "sons of GOD"...were not...ANGELS. Christ debunks that when he says (regarding whose wife the woman would be, who had the 7 brothers as husbands).."...you do ...GREATLY ERR...not knowing the resurrection, for they are neither...MALE NOR FEMALE...BUT ARE AS THE ANGELS...". This shows that "angels", are not like us, distinguishable as having a "sexual designation", they cannot, and do not...PRO-CREATE...Only man and woman can pro-create, even as only GOD can "Create".
So while my perspective may not be readily accepted, regarding the "male and female" being created apart from Adam and Eve...it does "work" for those events.
I thank you for you response, and I would love to continue our conversation. There are some very remarkable things to consider, that are hidden in plain sight in the scriptures. I also thank you for your consideration that, scripture is a living, breathing gift, given to us, to point us to who GOD is. To show us the path to understand Him, in his glory. Seeing him, through the Holy Spirit that indwells us, by what he offers us in the scriptures. Certainly, he is much, much larger, than we will ever understand...BUT...as we come into these moments of "discovery" of who GOD is, what his nature is like, we will find our calling, that we share with the world.
      Blessings to you,

      God is SPIRIT.
After giving us His Son to pay our sin debt, He has provided us with the Holy Spirit to help lead us in teaching us how to live "by the Spirit"; our own spirit connected to God the Father through the Holy Spirit living in us.
Clearly, He who created the material time/space "world" does not reside within it nor desire us to remain in it, but He desires us to live WITH Him, NOT in the material time/space world but in His SPIRITUAL realm. For us to grow closer to Him and understand more of who He is and how He desires us to live we must grow "in the Spirit" to understand spiritual things.

In my Greek Interlinear, it says the firstfruit Christ, singular. Not Christ, the firstfruits (plural) and afterwards those that are His AT HIS COMING. Christ IS the firstfruit, singular. Then everyone else is resurrected AT HIS COMING (2nd coming). That is what the Scriptures say. These people were RAISED from the dead, not RESURRECTED. Just as Lazarus had been. Over and over Christ says He will raise people at the LAST DAY. That is the day He comes in all His glory. There is only ONE resurrection of the saints, Old and New together. In Daniel 12 it says "there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt." This puts the resurrection of the Old Testament saints AFTER the time of the great tribulation.
It will be at the same time as the resurrection of the New Testament saints, at the seventh and last trumpet when the mystery of God (the Church) is finished (Rev. 10) and the time for the dead (if you are resurrected you are no longer dead) saints and prophets to be rewarded (Bema Seat) has come and the time for Christ's reign to begin, and God's wrath to begin and be poured out (Rev. 11:15-18) has come. This is when the rapture occurs, just as Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, prophesied when He told us it would be at the last trump. The great tribulation (thlipsis) is the great persecution by Satan, not the wrath of God (orge or thumos). God's wrath is always orge or thumos, not thlipsis. We are told over and over that we must suffer thlipsis. It is Christians suffering during the great tribulation, hence it isn't God's wrath, as we are not appointed to wrath. It is Satan's s wrath (Rev. 12). We are told in advance that we should not be surprised at the fiery trial that we must endure to partake of Christ's suffering so that we might rejoice with joy when His glory is revealed (2nd Coming). 1 Peter 4. The truth is there if you are willing to accept it.

...Wrong. First their bodies had long since decayed into dust. Dead for hundreds or thousands of years. They were not in "graves", at the most, were in estuary boxes, so the term is not meant to be what we relate to. It defines as a place of internment, which Isaiah, chapter 14 goes into great detail about. They were raised...UNLIKE LAZARUS....false dichotomy. It says they were raised...BODILY...meaning that they had...RECEIVED A BODY...other than the one they died in. There are...NO SCRIPTURES... that note these that were "raised", ever tasted of death again. UNLIKE LAZARUS.
In fact, the scriptures informs us that; "...it is appointed unto man once to die, and after, the judgement. It is obvious that these people were "judged" due to the fact that they were made alive again...IN A NEW BODY. Just as scripture informs us. Even as Christ was judged, having died only once, so too were these, that were raised after Christ arose. Romans 8:11 speaks precisely to the nature of our resurrection. It speaks that we will be raised exactly as Christ is, through the Holy Spirit. That our mortal bodies will be quickened. MADE ALIVE. What would make you think that those who arose, after his resurrection, would be any different in their resurrection, than us...OR CHRIST? How many "plans" of resurrection do you think GOD will utilize?
There is only...ONE RESURRECTION...that is...JESUS CHRIST.. Unless you wish to challenge the verse where Christ affirms;..." I AM the resurrection and the Life...".
You fail to realize that Christ spoke of a resurrection, in the terms of...NOW IS...in John, chapter 5.
Al this ties through all the books, including Revelation.
If you desire to know how all this fits together, you must understand the completed work of Christ. DEATH, BURIAL AND RESURRECTION. That is the beginning of understanding all other things.

@@johncollins6755 Where do you read that they were dead hundreds or thousands of years? That isn't in my Bible. For all you know, they were the recent dead. Why would you assume they were just dead bones in ossuary (not estuary - an estuary is the tidal mouth of a river) boxes? The Bible says the "graves". And that is exactly what the Greek word means, a place of interment such as a tomb, a grave, a sepulchre. (Definition: interment - the BURIAL of a corpse in a grave or tomb, typically with funeral rites.) Adding these assumptions to Scripture is not warranted.
And even if the people were dead for hundreds of years, exactly why could Jesus not restore their previous bodies? If He can give them a new one, He can restore the old one. You yourself said " it says they were raised.... bodily." Exactly. They were "raised bodily" not resurrected. Resurrection is not a raising of the mortal body. It is the giving of a new perfect immortal one from the seeds of the old one, as Paul tells us......
      1 Cor. 15:20-23, 35-44, 49-57
But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.....(When are the righteous dead made alive or resurrected? At HIS COMING) .But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come? Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die: And that which thou sowest, thou sowest NOT that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain: But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body. All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: It is sown a natural body; it is raised a SPIRITUAL body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.......And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, AT THE LAST TRUMP: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible (the resurrection), and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Scripture(specifically 1 Corinthians and Revelation) teaches that there are two more resurrections besides Christ's, ONE resurrection of the righteous and ONE resurrection of the damned. The first occurs at Christ's return at the last trump, and the second at the end of the millennium for the Great White Throne Judgment. The fact that the Bible teaches both resurrections have to occur AFTER Christ's return leaves only one conclusion. These people had to be raised and restored to their mortal body. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to draw that conclusion, just a careful exegesis of Scripture.
Yes, for the most part, it is appointed unto man once to die. But during the time of Christ, that ban was obviously lifted, for many people were restored to life or raised from the dead, not just Lazarus. It was part of Christ's miracles to prove who He was. We cannot judge the time of Christ and His apostles by the same standard as other times. God can do what He wants and break whatever rules He wants for His purposes. We have to look at the whole of Scripture and deduce what falls under the rules and what are the exceptions. Obviously this was an exception, as were all the people who were raised from the dead by Christ. Jesus IS the resurrection, because without Him there is no resurrection. It is because He lives that we can live. That is what He meant. Apart from accepting Him as our Savior, there will be no resurrection to life, only a resurrection to eternal death. That is why He is the resurrection. He broke the chains of death. That is exactly what those verses quoted above say. When we accept Him as our Savior, we can look forward to a resurrection (if we die before He returns, otherwise we are merely "changed" as the Scriptures above say) when He returns.
I do understand the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, and I understand the entire arc of how what began in Genesis ends in Revelation.

Fact is, the events that Christ described of the rich man and Lazarus, is the reference of the "graves" that is being given in this instance. Even as Christ spoke in Lk. 4, that he had come to "preach deliverance to the captives". The ossuary boxes, were not what is spoken of in the scriptures. None the less, that this was the manner of the Jews. YES...they could have been those who had died recently as well. In fact, actually, none were left out, in Eph 4:8. The only criteria is that they were believers in the covenant that GOD had provided for them. Their means of relationship with GOD. How did the disciples recognize Moses and Elijah on the Mount? They had been dead for hundreds of years.
You have difficulty with those being "raised" from the dead, as not being "resurrected". Yet, the scriptures informs us that GOD ...RAISED...Christ from the dead. Which according to you means that Christ was not ...RESURRECTED. Am I supposed to believe your perspective, and that GOD...DID NOT RESURRECT CHRIST...from the dead? Wouldn't you think that would be quite a bit for anyone to swallow? Well, it is.
Therefore, your perspective of a difference of being "raised vs. resurrected" appears in only a limited amount of events that are recorded. Such as the only child of the widow of Nain, or the daughter of Jairus, or Lazarus. These were not "resurrected" in the sense that Christ was. Christ having to be the first "raised" from the dead.
In fact the scriptures are replete with references of Christ being "raised". There are also many verses that speak of the "resurrection" of Christ. In fact, if you simple refer to any concordance, you will find that the definitions given to these two words, are interchangeable. You need to find a better perspective to hold to.
Anything, that any of us choose to "believe in", must...MUST...agree with...EVERY THING... that we are given in scripture. This concept of yours, lacks that criteria.
I have to say...NO...you do not understand the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. How it unfolded, the timeline that was involved and what matters he completed and ushered in. The promise that Jesus made to the thief on the cross was made REAL, according to these passages.
And it's also written in the book of Nicodemus.
This great event is where the "day of the dead" comes from.
Since not only the "saints woke up", but all people who had faith in the real Creator. (Hebrew. 11)
    So after the Resurrection?
Jesus didn't just appear to his disciples, but all the tribes of Israel around the world. So they would know that the PROMISE was accomplished, and the kingdom of heaven was at hand!!

It is there in couple books, and the fact that the Aztecs were one of the lost tribes of Israel and Jesus appeared to them after He had resurrected. (Book of mormon), and many other tribes in Central and S.America.
That's why the traditional "Day of the DEAD".. started with the Aztecs.
And if Jesus wouldn't had been crucified?
The "ufo" phenomenon wouldn't exist, because they wouldn't have never being put in prisons and this would be just a normal thing "seen the gods of every single civilization from the past among us".
But portals(the prisons) have been opened, and people are seeing these "flying saucers" all over the world, and its increasing till the portal that contains the "big gods" finally opens up, and it would be exactly like in the days of Noah.
UFOs might fool your eyes, but not technology, and little by little the truth shall be revealed. Most of these flying objects are not mechanical, but spiritual.
And "C.E.R.N." a "word" that stands up for the god "CERNUNO"(The god with horns, Apolyon, the destructor)
Soon would be around when this portal brings him back. But for now, many people would have contact with evil spirits and some of them are being possessed or being "taken"(abduction), they are doing very evil things all over and its gonna get worse.
So.. it's up to anyone to believe this or not, nothing worse than dying is going to happen, but the suffering in millions it just began, its just a matter of time for you to experience it!!
So YES..JESUS. WAS CRUCIFIED AND RESURRECTED AS IT WAS WRITTEN 5500 years, when the LIGHT was GONE from earth, and became VOID AND without FORM (Jer. 4:23; 26).
      But that LIGHT came back!(Jn. 1: 3:19; 8:12;)
It doesn't matter if you don't believe His word, because Salvation is personal.!!
      Jn. 12.
" I am come a LIGHT into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in DARKNESS.
47 And if any man hear my words, AND BELIEVE NOT, I JUDGE HIM NOT: for I came NOT TO JUDGE THE WORLD, but TO SAVE THE WORLD*."
*This place BELONGS to those "evil spirits " many times called "et's", since they were here.. way before humanity was "formed" from the ashes that were left out from the world's destruction the very first time.

I can see that this man is just using his fallen human logic and he is not speaking in the Spirit. Almost everything he says is left inconclusive and ambiguous. I am not denouncing this man. I have no problem with not knowing the specifics of what this verse implies. Plenty of people believed in Jesus and who he is before he was crucified. Some of those people died during his ministry I'm sure. It's entirely plausible that these people raised were the believers who had died during Jesus ministry. It only says that they appeared to many, it doesn't say if they spoke or what happened after. It certainly would have been more convincing to the people in the area to bear witness to this from people they knew had recently died rather than long dead people that the locals were not familiar with.

Concerning Jesus Christ being 100% man and 100% God at the same time, I Corinthians 15:44...There is (ESTI) a natural body, and there is (ESTI) a spiritual body. (right now we are spirit-men inside flesh and blood bodies).
Ecc 1:2 Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity. (This temporal material reality is a simulation from the eternal spiritual reality).
Ecc 3:21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth? (no cross over with animals contradicting Plato's Timaeus)
Ecc 12:6 Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.
Ecc 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit (SPIRIT-MAN) shall return unto God who gave it.
Psa 90:10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we (the SPIRIT MAN) fly away.
Ecc 12:8 Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity. (This temporal material reality is a simulation from the eternal spiritual reality).
Just as Jesus Christ had a special flesh and blood body he also was deity (through-ity, dia-ity) as described in Colossians 1:15-17.
Colossians 1:15 Who is the image (likeness G1504, eikon) of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
Colossians 1:16 For by (in, G1722, en) him were all things created, that are in (G1722, en) heaven, and that are in (G1722, en) earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by (through G1223 dia) him, and for (back into G1519 eis) him:
Colossians 1:17 And he is before all things, and by (in G1722 en) him all things consist.

Amanda...don't be troubled by it. The Holy Spirit opens things up for us, as we need them to be. In brief; Jesus died and went into Paradise, Abraham's Bosom. This is just like the story he told in Luke 16:19 - 31. There was a place of preservation for those who died, believing GOD, who were waiting on the promise of salvation. Just as Christ spoke to the thief on the cross..." Today, you will be with me in Paradise".
When Christ arose, he empowered those who had believed GOD, to raise from the dead also. This was done by the impartation of the Holy Spirit, which is the spirit of LIFE. Rms. 8:11, shows us that this was what GOD utilized to raise Christ from the dead...and he will utilize this same Holy Spirit to raise us from the dead.

These are more than likely the children of Israel slain for Jesus’ namesake when He was born. The first to die for His namesake.
These were possibly the ones killed by Herod’s order to have them killed during his desperate attempt to keep Jesus from becoming the King of the Jews.
I believe Ezekiel 37 dry bones is referencing 144,000 when it mentions the exceedingly large army.

It is astonishing to read, in Matthew's gospel, that Herod's sword-wielding thugs set to slaughtering male children two years and under in the hope that they might put Jesus to death. However, God sent a warning to Joseph to take Mary, his wife, and child to flee to Egypt. But what of the other children of Bethlehem? And why were they left to their fate-to be taken from the arms of their mothers to be thrust through with a sword?
Why did God not warn the other parents in Bethlehem of the terror approaching so they might too escape the clutches of Herod's troops?
Thinking only of Jesus, God criminally neglected to warn those other parents of the approaching danger. Thus God is culpable in the homicide of innocent children.

@@randysnewwalkministry3105 ...Randy, you have clear comprehension on some things. Let me help. Jesus said to the leaders of the day (Mat. 23) that; ..."... all the righteous blood that was shed would come upon (as a witness against) them...". Christ said; "... from righteous...ABEL...". There is the first that was killed, that belonged to GOD, that witnessed, by his sacrifices, the testimony of Jesus Christ. This is the beginning of the 144,000.
Rev. 6:9 - 11, shows O. T. Israel, being preserved, waiting upon all that were to be killed....which is a direct reference to Christ.
Rev. 7:4 - 8, shows these same O. T. saints who have been empowered, sealed by the Holy Spirit. Just as Rms. 8:11 informs us, we are raised by the power of the Holy Spirit, just as Christ was.
Rev. 14:1 - 5, shows these O. T. saints who have received their inheritance of Eternal Life. All the descriptions given them are found written elsewhere.
Rev. 20:4, are these the same O. T. saints. The reason all those details apply to them alone is: they are in the same eternal state as Christ is: Bodily; Glorified; Perfect; Eternal.
It all fits, and there is so much to understand, but this you can know for certain...It is all about Jesus Christ...He is All in All.
Ezekiel is speaking of the 144,000. As the verse stated..."...this is the whole house of Israel...". Once again, this is all the O. T. saints. Notice, even after they are completely formed, there is no "breath, life...SPIRIT...in them. This is Rev. 7:4 - 8.

wms72...Christ has made the same provision for his mother, and for each of us. As the believer in Christ has died, they have left their earthly, natural bodies behind, the flesh. Their eternal soul, at the moment of death, has gone into the presence of the Lord, in Heaven. The two "entities" will be reunited, at the 2nd coming of Christ. All those eternal spirits will be brought with Christ, by GOD, to receive a glorified, eternal, spiritual body, at his 2nd coming; I Thess. 4:13 / 14.
This has been the "pattern" that was implemented through Christ, after his death, burial and resurrection. We all are included in this plan of Salvation, the revealed Grace of GOD. There is no variance, or other means whereby any can be saved, other than thorough these provisions of Christ.
NOW...this plan/process was not available until the time of Christ, so there is a difference between those Pre-Christ, to those who are Post-Christ. While the body and soul separated upon death, in both scenarios, the O. T. eternal being...DID NOT...go into the presence of the Lord, as we now do. Rather, those who died as believers, their eternal man, went into a place of preservation. This is called the Bosom of Abraham in the scriptures. Death had authority over them, separating them, from being in the presence of GOD. GOD created this provision for their preservation, in response to the authority, that the Law had given to Sin.
While our eternal man goes into the presence of GOD, upon our death, the believer, Pre-Christ, went into Abraham's Bosom.
When the O. T. Saints were resurrected from their "graves", Mat. 27:52/53, they resurrected in their complete form of Salvation. Rms. 8:11, informs us that the Holy Spirit will raise us...BODILY..even as it raised Christ. This is the same provision that raised those Saints.
This is the picture of Joshua 5, of Israel...RECEIVING...the circumcision...AFTER...they had crossed Jordan, over to the side, of the Promised Land. They traveled their earthly journey, crossed over, and received the Spirit...AFTER...Christ had joined them on the other side.
      This depiction is given to us in Rev. 6: 9 - 11; 7: 3 - 8; 14: 1 - 5 and Rev. 20: 1 - 6.

believe in God as the Creator or Jesus as being divine. However, I am astonished to find so many Christians do not even know what they are talking about most of the time. Quite often I am presented with argument which has no standing in logic or common sense. I have been approached by street preachers who lay Jesus on me as the son of God, as a man of peace and love. However, when I point out the flaws in their preaching they don't like it at all.
