Do they ever circle in a clock-wise fashion? The symbol would be different than a counter-clock-wise movement.

He said, it's heresy.. A bidaah. I think this is bidaah hasanah (a positive bidaah). Correct me if I'm wrong.

That's Sufism, a mystical branch of Islam. As monks are from christianity or buddhism, or kabbalists are from judaism.
Whirling dervishes practices Sema, a kind of dancing meditation. As they enter in a trance state they can dance for hours without falling or getting dizzy.

Just wondering if Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu 'alayhi wa Sallam) ever practised or taught this, if so can Saheeh concrete Daleel be provided, as he was the BEST of examples to emulate?

There are many proofs that this is permissible, which cannot be dicussed now. Chiefly, Sayyidina Abu Bakr (upon whom be peace and Allah'' satifaction) 's whirling in the presence of our Holy Prophet (Salallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) upon hearing the reply to the bedouin "You will be with with you love" "Al mar'atu ma'a man ahabb"
This was practiced by Mawlana Jalaluddin Rumi (May Allah bless his soul) when he became ecstatic upon hearing the 'Zikr' of the iron workers hammers. Whirling is a natural expression of love. This is something square-head Wahhabis cannot understand.

      Zayd Hussein Mia
Regardless, did Prophet Muhammad (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) practice this? The Jews love Musa ('alayhis-Salaam), does this mean all the Jews will be in Jannah with Musa ('alayhis-Salaam)? The Christians love 'Eesa ('alayhis-Salaam), does this mean they will all be in Jannah with 'Eesa ('alayhis-Salaam)? As for Rumi, he was not from the Salaf, he came a whole 600 years later. We follow Islaam the way the Salaf understood it, not the way Rumi understood it 6 centuries later. Rumi is not mentioned in the Qur'an & Sunnah, the Salaf are, and they are the BEST of generations.
