Homophobia in the black community is such an issue that needs talked about more! The reason are so many men out there dating women but sneaking around with men and some men take it a step further repressing these feelings and express their fear of their true feelings or hatred of themselves onto people who trigger that within them with violence. Or like Miles said so so many people constantly consider or go through with it and commit suicide. Which is so so so sad because there are people out there who love and will embrace you if you get out of that negative bubble or headspace. I know there are areas of the country that are rural and leave people feeling isolated and alone but trust me there are people even in those areas who will love and embrace you if you let them though being safe and protecting yourself is more important so unfortunately keeping a guard up is necessary in some situations. But just know that you aren’t alone.

It hurts when your family doesn't approve or support your sexuality, because if you don't have it, it feels like they don't love you. Dang. I can't speak on the LGBTQ+ community, but as a straight ally, I fully support them and hate how some families and even some friends disown them, in a way, for this.
Homophobia in the black community is such an issue that needs talked about more! The reason are so many men out there dating women but sneaking around with men and some men take it a step further repressing these feelings and express their fear of their true feelings or hatred of themselves onto people who trigger that within them with violence. Or like Miles said so so many people constantly consider or go through with it and commit suicide. Which is so so so sad because there are people out there who love and will embrace you if you get out of that negative bubble or headspace.
I know there are areas of the country that are rural and leave people feeling isolated and alone but trust me there are people even in those areas who will love and embrace you if you let them though being safe and protecting yourself is more important so unfortunately keeping a guard up is necessary in some situations. But just know that you aren’t alone.
