Dude was an ultimate dedicated professional for so long (since his teens). You have to be to get to that level of musicianship. It's a shame he had trouble holding it together after a certain point. If Jazz was still "pop" music during Jaco's reign he would have been so rich it wouldn't have really mattered as much. Even when he started out, he "had" to play R&B/Funk to get a paying gig and "sneak the Jazz in on the side".
You can see everything about him from 14.00 on: he starts playing, the he gets all warmed up, then he gets more and more intense, the he keeps playing. That's all there is, basically, he spent his hours playing away. As he puts it, there's no trap: He just played and played and played.
Jaco practiced until he completely solved all the technique issues of playing the electric bass guitar, and then could do anything. Just a master musician with his instrument...
I don't know if ur a dad or whatever but my son growing in the early years was so ecstatic to try and speak amd even though we thought him like all other parents we didn't "practice" with him he had an energy to express. And I think jaco had that same energy and as a musician it does make u smile when you break through that wall and you have those " Ah! HA! DAMN IT KIRK IVE GOT IT 😂" Moments and what made him so enjoyable was he expressed even the things people would frown about. But it was his language cheers!

I had to learn this by ear, I bought the tab book but it wasn't included in it unfortunately and couldn't find tabs for it anywhere, it was definitely worth it though

I don't understand what the problem was, the man is talking and it seems okay that they threw him on the sidelines, that they didn't want to organize any concerts - gigs for him, that he ended up homeless, that such a person has no social assistance or financial support, what was happening there, to whom was bothering JACO
I don't know the answer to this one, and it is indeed a travesty. 🤷♂But clearly he pissed someone off with influence. Maybe somebody out there knows the story?
The issue with Jaco was his mental health really went misunderstood and untreated in his time. They knew what bipolar disorder was then but they didn’t understand it like they do now. It’s a tragedy that he couldn’t get the help he needed. When you throw drugs and alcohol into the mix with that kind of a mental health disorder it can be horrible.
for this interview, the crew had to keep watch on jaco for a week so he wouldn’t get blacked out drunk so he‘d be sober enough to be able to do the interview. jaco was an amazing guy and player but his usage and mental health is what led him to where he was at that time
My God what a tragic loss love you joco

Is there a book out on these exercises?
I wouldn't know what to tell you, I only had the DVD that I bought years ago and I uploaded it to share.

of playing the electric bass guitar, and then could do anything. Just

He is an icon of bass and composition

Its a jazz bass with a precision neck or a regular jazz bass?
Jazz Bass body with a fretted Precision Bass neck
Knows someone what jaco played in the last half of the video for a bass?
Maybe it is a carl thompson bass?
