    Thank you for recording a review of Tony's game. I hope it was very pleasant despite the mono colors :) I will add that the controls have already been rewritten to assembler, it is universal (joystick/keyboard), we have 3 levels ready, and the game itself should be out at the end of the year :) Greetings :)

    So looking forward to this game. I love platform adventure games, this one remind my Atari's favourite Montezuma's Revenge. And it's also lovely tribute to polish-argentinian traveller-journalist-cameraman Tony Halik. I loved his programmes as child, 1000% nostalgia here for me ❤❤

    Hiya Maddi ☺️ and this is a interesting demo. I like the fine detail in the level and that amazonian pan pipe music suits it very nicely.
    Couple of things l do appreciate are enemies that don’t respawn after death and also don’t return if you leave the screen and come back again, nice touch.
    Not sure if the main character is a bit on the large size for the level design which would make those jumps and fine adjustments more difficult? or whether it’s a case of just adjusting to it when playing.
    Level design is good, enemy placement is a little tricky but not overly frustrating and the animations, walk cycles and other bits look pretty decent.
    The bottom line is does it have that “l’ll just have one more go” factor that keeps you coming back, looks that way to me.
    Good stuff and l look forward to seeing more levels and any more fine tuning in the final game ☺️👍🏼

    Looks really nice! Always looking forward to new Amiga games, we're living in golden times. Especially since newer games often have good controls.
    Since I mostly play on FPGA I like it when I can use a button for jumping. That's much easier to do, especially on a gamepad.

      @TukinemAmiga Рік тому

      Yes. Here jumping is, when we put fire on joystick. In Tony You can control on keyboard too (arrows + space).

    The backing music and sound effects were good; graphics were good; control mechanisms/behavior appears to need some work. It looks like a fun game.

      Yes this is true, this is actually an early preview of the game so it's still a work in progress. It's definitely a fun game for sure.

    Reminds me a bit of Montezuma's Revenge and Rick Dangerous. Nice graphics and animations. The music fits well too. Thanks for showcasing!

    Its a neat game... game play is like "Monty on the run" with the flick screens. Are you planning to contrubute to the game by adding more ingame music tracks?

    • @MsMadLemon
      @MsMadLemon  Рік тому

      Now that you mention it, it does remind me a little of Monty on the run, I haven't played that as much as I have Rick Dangerous. Music tracks, Pawel already has someone doing the music for this game.

      @TukinemAmiga Рік тому

      At the moment we are changing the musician, but we already have a new one who is creating. Each level will be different music. Therefore, unfortunately, I have to stuff the full version so that it somehow fits on 2 floppy disks, and music takes up the most space here.

    The game looks nice, it reminds me of ZX Spectrum games.
    Ms Mad Lemon, maybe it's easier to play the game using Sega Mastersystem controller, if you have one.

    • @MsMadLemon
      @MsMadLemon  Рік тому

      Yeah it does have a strong ZX Spectrum feel to it for sure. I'm not the biggest fan of Joypads but with the button to jump, I have a feeling it's more suited to joypads, I could try a Mastersystem pad or even the old Amiga joypad I have hanging around somewhere.

      @@MsMadLemon yeah i got rick dangerous vibes with a bit of jet set willy also with the taking things from one room to another to use them also reminded me of the speccy too lol . will there be colour or is it going to be mono at final release ?. i actually prefer the a dedicated jump button which is why i like your modded joystick/controller mods you did a few years back .

    Not what I was expecting for a newly made Amiga game. 2 colours and what, 20-25fps? I have seen the C64 do much better than this. I would have expected Team 17 levels of quality and speed, as a minimum today, now that all the hardware programming secrets are out there. But this game looks looks fun in itself. But I always thought the Amiga stood well above the previous generation of home computers, and this game makes the Amiga look slow and impotent. Just my opinion, your welcome to have your own.

    • @MsMadLemon
      @MsMadLemon  Рік тому +3

      Fair enough, I can see why you feel that way towards it since Amiga can do more. However I also personally think about the style aspect to it. How much of this has to do with the style of the game? For example some people don't like Bitmap Brother's games, the general complaint is low frame rate but it seems to be a consistent style they have, along with their colour scheme. You also have modern games like limbo which are completely in black and white. I do question if a game always has to make a statement of the system it's on? This is my personal opinion on it. All in all I found myself, looking past that because the game itself pulled me in. I try to see If a game can keep me engaged like that and make me come back for more.

      Chess is only black and white too, doesn't make it a bad game.

      20-25 fps? oh... it's only animation in 25 fps, but controls in game is fully 50 FPS (in NTSC is 60 FPS and is more difficult)

    • @tonep3168
      @tonep3168 Рік тому +1

      @@MsMadLemon totally agree, and get you on that Bitmap Brothers comment. Loved many of their games, but was always disappointed in the frame rate, especially when you could be playing Project-X one minute, then the Chaos Engine the next and be like how can Team 17 do this and almost everyone else can’t even get 20fps right! I’m not sure about the statement making comment, I respect it, but I know if I had played this game on my brand new 500 Plus, I think I would have maybe rebooted and played something else. But back then, the Amiga was the most advanced home computer, and I at least had relatively high expectations of it. It may not be fair, and it is most likely not how anyone would feel today, as even the most highly optimised games are old fashioned looking already, but I know the teenage me would have probably never got past the first level before resetting. I don’t mean disrespect to the game dev either. It’s just how I feel. As when I saw the title of your video, I was very curious to see an Amiga game coded today, and what the experience would look like. But I also respect your point on just playing the thing, and seeing where it takes you, I don’t think I EVER played a single AMOS game, after trying about 10 different demos, and all of them just running like it was an overclocked ZX81! Maybe I missed out…. Thank you for taking the time to make a great video, which I watched all the way!
