Spooky is still the leader of the gang. He took that crazy lady’s place and that’s why he is rich and has a nice house and dresses like he wants. Ceaser took over for spooky and they are about making stuff better like spooky said.
this ending is crazy bc unlike anything else in the show this is the only thing that’s realistic. All of them growing up, and the song choice is perfect.

This ending was so depressingly accurate. When I left high school ten years ago me and my friends all made the exact same promise that nothing would change and now I don't know any of them anymore. They hit that right on the head with this scene.

I mean all of them seemed happy except Cesar (Even though he did through hints that he wanted to be the gang leader) But Spooky wanted to leave and he got that.

Ceasar made his choice. As soon as everyone wasn't focusing on keeping Ceasar on the right path, he slipped into the Santos. I know he was angry and wanted payback or something to come out of having been caught up in gang politics, but he had the opportunity to get out and didn't take it.

Whenever Jamal and Ruby make eye contact 😭 but I think it’s crazy how when the group was together, Jamal was the weird one, the oddity, the misfit, now he looks like he’s a popular football jock and in with the cool crowd, and while Ruby used to be the cool, tough, he has embraced more of his true authentic self and isn’t afraid to show this, and he’s not ashamed of his relationship with Jas, which i love. It’s so sad tho...you can almost see the regret in Jamal’s eyes, and the hurt in Ruby’s.

@@divineb1986 Just before Monse left, she kept reaching out and they weren't reaching back. Most of season 3, the only thing keeping them together was a common goal (not dying). Ruby was trying to figure out who he was after trauma, Jamal was trying to figure out what he wants in life, Ceasar was becoming more drawn to the Santos, and Monse had so many opportunities to get out of Freeridge. They grew apart, which is realistic. It's going to take something really big to get the gang back together.
I understand people grow apart. But I think I would’ve been a lot happier if Ruby and Jamal would’ve smiled at each other, and maybe if monse had their picture placed in the front next to her new friends instead of shoving it in the back..

I'm glad Ruby and Jasmine got together. Ruby did change though, if you look at how he's dressed. He is dressed much darker than before. He's been struggling with PTSD and was developing a dark, existential life view that Monsae was struggling to keep him out of. Basically he gave in to the angst

THEORY: Spooky fakes his death in order to escape the gang life and finally have a normal life. Cesar takes over as leader to “honor” his brother. Ik I might be wayy off😂 but that’s what I think cause it’s like what Cesar said once you’re in the gang there is no out.
I'm guessing Spooky/Oscar left on his own after handing leadership over to someone else. It would make sense since he was the leader at the end. I would also guess he fully left town to get a fresh start

After giving 27th to the 14's, oscar probably handed ownership to that guy. The guy couldve wanted family life, too and handed the gang over to cesar.

My heart was broken when I seen Jamal staring up at Ruby with his new friends after they’ve been best friends for so long.
I'm upset they turn into there opposite self's, but I think it is kind of realistic. Cause things can change you to seeing everything you once say a completely different way.
I was wheezing at the end like wha wha and I actually shed a few tears. To see them just separate, it's like they didn't forget about each other but they don't talk anymore. It saddened me ,they were so close. They all just went their separate ways. It was a great story though. I love Netflix and I Love On My Block even more. the way jamal & ruby looked at each other were so different. ruby was kind of mad dogging jamal like he did something to wrong him while jamal had that look like of regret or guilt that it all came down to them being complete strangers. what makes it even deeper is how close jamal & abuela were & how long they prolly havent seen each other since the fallout.
also see season 4 having spooky forced to return to his roots/old gang to get cesar out of some serious trouble that he gets himself into.
monse is gonna also have to come back & clean up the mess she created just by leaving her old neighborhood
U cant blame monse really she wanted to stay but had to go and the inevitable happened like it was happening in season 3 anyway towards the end
Literally I’m so so happy for Oscar!!! It made me smile when I saw him happy with baby on the way! I’m glad he got the chance to turn his life around and took it. Honestly I rewatched this over and over again just for that
