I rather see Mass Effect dead and buried than see it mutilated like Dragon Age. I will keep the Shepard Trilogy in my heart
Let's play the game first or at least rely on word of mouth etc before burying Bioware.
@@phanourios1279 In this case my optimism is infected by the Blight
best course of action is to shut down Bioware and give the next ME game to Respawn
@@phanourios1279but we are going to get the sims teams Mass Effect arent you proud so when it drops you will get more of be proud and when they bring back the original team and change them-
@@Gungrave123now then cori bush couldn't work on it and thats not approved-
When a company or studio takes their old fans for granted and starts strictly chasing the modern audience diluting what made their games special, failure is almost guaranteed.
Old fans are the one's that keep their franchises alive. I don't get the "new" players thing. Everytime there'll be new one's, no need to cater to them.
@@N7PathfinderAi I was a new fan who was attracted to game. If it weren't for Dragon Age 2 I wouldn't be part of the fandom.
@@jamesandrews5629 so am I. Do you like what they did with dragon age?
@@germanverner6501 I really like it.
Well I can say with Mass Effect I really don't think Shepard coming Back so you may as well go I'm Done.
Dragon Age Veilguard doesn't look or feel like what I expect a Dragon Age game to be. I, personally, have no interest in the game.
The import choices from mass effect on have been a staple of Bioware games. in fact in ME3 not importing a save assumes the worst possible outcomes for nearly everything implying you are doing it wrong by not importing a save. Now we have this game where it seems they deliberately hid the absence of this expected feature for 6 years of development, even trying to deceive players by saying "oh you will just pick important choices before you start" waiting for testers to reveal that there were only 3 choices from DAI that would be taken into account and none from DAO or DA2 . Then after the backlash they say we respect your choices but don't acknowledge them whatsoever...
The dlc choices exclusively-
I would prefer the people working on this game don't touch or go near mass effect. They have done enough.
They most definitely will. If EA let's them do it.
They still have the same "toxic positivity" from anthem that never stopped attacking devs remember the "devs are the problem they holding the teams back" they had meetings stopping them working on the engine while working on the devs then gutted them from their teams then held over their heads that their teams would be punished based on anthems performance and kept putting them in meetings about "how devs are the problems"-
I said that - in Andromeda I was able to make a good looking Ryder every time male or female (especially female) and it looked loads better than Veilguard
I enjoyed Andromeda too for the most part but so many unanswered questions left - such a shame it didn’t get expansions and follow ups
For Veilguard I predict it’ll be on a deep sale around Christmas so I’ll probably pick it up then
I don't see bioware making it after this.
@@Johnny22-r4j Honestly, same.

“If Veilguard doesn’t do well we’re not gonna see Mass Effect!” Girl if VG don’t do well, they failed DA fans. Simple as that. They failed ME fans EONS ago.
Maybe that’s a good thing! “Sometimes dead is better!”
I share your sentiment. I was always DA first, ME second. However, I’ve made peace with the fact that Bioware is pretty much dead.
@@RyanTattoo-fx2mb yes a smelly rotting corpse is better than a fresh vivacious franchise lol sure Ryan
Haven't they failed them since DA2? For most origins is the only good DA game.
@@N7PathfinderAi DA2 was actually good gameplay, graphics, and the choices & story were good. At least inho. The biggest problem with DA2 was the recycling of assets/environment. Almost every dungeon was the same which made the game redundant. Origins was way better though. Personally, I enjoyed DA:I’s combat and graphics but the story was unbearable for me.
Well. I'd rather These devs not touch mass effect.
Played Origins to Mass Effect trilogy, Andromeda was it's own bag of rabid cats, there's no way I'll play veilguard at any price, it doesn't even look like dragon age, there is to much too many bad things with this game, really worried about the next Mass effect as these people will be making it
Mass effect Andromeda and Anthem. Both games that as soon as the games sold bad, EA dropped all support with no interest to ever make improvements. That was a huge burn to me because even Cyberpunk got way worse backlash but they stuck with it and improved it, now look its awesome. The moment ea sees the bad sales figures you can count on this game getting sent to the landfill.
This. EA sucks.
Mass effect 1-3 will live in legend, I’m more excited about Exodus. At this point, I wouldn’t even wanna play Mass Effect games from this version of BioWare.
Exodus looks really interesting ngl.
It's the Tumblrfication of BioWare. The old guard is mostly gone and the type of people come through now think Fortnite and Steven Universe is the height of art.
I think what really caused me to worry was when all we really heard of repeated significance for a month or so was the character creator. Im all for super in depth CC, but I just wanted to hear about things like choices being accounted for, Inky's role in the game etc.
Seeing the late game combat didnt really interest me because i feel like Bioware peaked at their combat in ME3 in terms of super action heavy, and DA with a tactical edge is how i like it.
The final decider in me not buying it at launch was hearing how little choices mattered, it kind of feels like a kick in the teeth to wait 10 years for the conclusions to a bunch of important decisions (quite a few in Trespasser alone) and hearing theyre basically just ignoring them. It feels like a reboot but it doesnt have the spine to actually commit to a hard one. If it turns out to be good, i can buy it later, but nothing ive seen or heard about it has me convinced to buy before DA community reviews are out.
Yes i Agree with What you said about not Having Sheppard in the next mass effect game
Mass Effect is one of my favorite series, but I am also fine with not having another entry after the last few releases. I wanted to support this one, but I can't get behind the changes to combat along with other issues. Farewell, Bioware.
Honesty despite all the shitty graphics and and other outcry about Veilguard I was still going to purchase it and play it. Then they said only 3 choices carryover. That felt like a deliberate middle finger to the old fans/loyal base, and I lost all interest about it.
Eh imma pirate it, if the game geels good then I'll spend the money to get the legit version but I don't trust EA at all
Veilguard is the offspring of The Sims 3, and Dragon age origin. released on mobile! I am playing an early release of a mobile game, and the aesthetic and the Hair, are the same. But very limited character creation options with great options!
Don't drag Origins into this its more like DA2 if you even 'have' to compare them. Not origins.
Don’t want to sound like a doomer but I don’t think many properties or studios are going to survive much longer outside of Nintendo
@@rhouck8407 Don't forget Rockstar. But yeah, it's getting crazy lately. Nintendo also has some drama though with palworld.
Capcom is doing pretty well right now. Monster Hunter Wilds is looking, at almost half a year out, like everything fans want it to be.
It's not just cartoony, but seems rushed, unfinished and butchered in terms of gameplay, style, feel, control, UI & choice and this is where most of the critique comes from (cause I refuse to lable it as 'hate' because its not something to be woven aside dismissively, with the arrogance of calling us Tourists, Turfs or Haters.)
i dont think bioware can survive after this
I hope Archetype Entertainment and Humanoid Origins are successful with their projects. Especially if BioWare dies.
Im reserving my judgement until I play the game. The previews from journalists and content creators who played the first act was largely positive.
I have concerns but im not going bury Bioware or praise them until i see the game for myself.
While I understand you not wanting this game to fail because of Mass Effect, I also want you to understand the facts that will happen here.
If this game succeeds, all the crap all the changes all the bs they implemented all the agenda's and everything extra around it, all of that will be added to Mass Effect as well, including the art style and such. In other words, if there is plenty to dislike on this game but it somehow manages to succeed a bit, they will see it as a good thing and continue doing it in their next games.
The fact that Anthem failed and actually NEEDED to fail for them to get a wake up all is and was self explanatory, Same thing as with Anthem this game too needs to be a wake up call because biowoke, has had failure after failure after failure and they are still doubling down. Remember, The biggest reason majority of their IP's including Dragon Age and Mass Effect got massive delays was because of how badly Anthem failed and how bad Andromeda was.
They stepped away from the online crap that they was trying to shove in their games so they could sell the loot boxes and nickel and dime their fanbase.
With the wokeness added and them changing and making everything ugly and everyone a cooking utensil, all in the name of "representation", Mass Effect will suffer for it.
They need to understand and learn that they are making games for the fanbase, not self inserts.
I rather Mass Effect end and stay dead, over getting a "modern audience" version of it any day of the week/year/decade.
Also, if Bioware fails on this, it does not mean exactly no more Mass Effect per se, because another studio could buy and take over the IP and own it. at this point so long as it isn't modern day CDPR or Ubisoft at the least, there could be some hope for it yet.
A bit contrarian here, but remember in ME1 we had to make a choice in what team mate we sacrifice or save. I think it was already foreshadowed back then that an ending for the series might also require a Shepard self-sacrifice. An all happy ending doesn't really fit the tone of the series. I was also looking forward to ME Andromeda but it wasn't a very good game. The writing was always the strongest ability of Bioware but in Andromeda it wasn't there. None of the characters. The female Ryder had this 'crazy eyes' look. One team mate was the worn out trope of being the comedic relief black guy. Another talked so much about the Asari that I wished I had the option to shake her and yell that she is a human, not an Asari.
Old Bioware was really good at making compelling characters (oftentimes superficially cliché, but with enough personality to them to be more than just the stereotype). This Bioware? I don't know, from what they revealed with Veilguard, have my doubts. Also because they missed the ball so hard on the atmosphere of Dragon Age, it's like they don't understand the essence of what made DA great.
In that same line, I worry how they will 'interpret' the ME universe.. just look at how they massacred the Qunari, not just in looks, but also in behaviour and cultural difference from the norm. Then tell me you have faith they can do justice to the Krogans, Salarians, Turians etc..
Yeah, Qunari design looks horrendous.
@@N7PathfinderAi Which design? The CC design? You can make them however you want? Seeing Taash, it looks fine by me.
Not just visually, but also behaviour and socially they changed qunari.. think of how Sten was or any qunari in DA2, they were almost aliens.. since they were made playable in DAI, well.. you are not playing a qunari, but a quman. Human with horns. Its stupid.
They will yassify the krokans to look like the Kardashians 😭
From what I heard the og crew for mass effect 1-3 will be working on it.
I have absolutely no plans to support it whatsoever. I want the combat/level system that DA:O has. They just keep dumbing the game down more and more so I have no wish to even entertain the idea of playing it.
A DA:O remaster or even rereleasing it in dx11 would be better than this slop.
It will do ok. Only because it's dragon age. But at this point bioware are riding their own coat tails.
Well, at first after the trailer İ was skeptical, but after watching gameplay videos İ like it. Now İ'm waiting for the test results.
Shepard's return will not save the Mass Effect. and that would be a mistake at all, because the story of the reapers and Shepard is over, and it was epic. We need to move forward, but the problem is that we need talented developers. like the ones who worked on the original trilogy. Looking at Veilgard, it's better for Mass Effect to die than turn into a laughing stock like Star Wars.
You have people saying we have to save Veilguard for mass effect do people want this quality of product an even more watered down product because this is the same or lesser quality for Mass effect 4-
The big red flags for me are: The poeple, who made the good DA and MA games have all left Bioware long ago. Now they're virtue signaling and pandering to the imagined modern audience above all else. In short: Biowrae got woke. Nothing good comes from woke. But in defence for Bioware: The trailer turned out to to be misleading. The game doesn't look like the trailer. Not at all. It was a very bad PR choice.
The Bioware of old died a long time ago. Mass Effect 3 was their last good game.
Hopefully this failure of DAV will end Bioware so we can finally bury it and the unemployment of that confused director of this game since he has no clue to what Dragon Age is about. Bioware was my favorite game company until the Evil Empire bought it and its been on the decline since then.
if you don't like it don't play 😭
I will... When it'll come on gamepass.
@@N7PathfinderAi Will it come to Game Pass?
@@jamesandrews5629 If it does good in 1 year, if it doesn't in 6 months or earlier.
@N7PathfinderAi Or it'll be on Game Pass later regardless of how it does.
*they* say that but then get all pissy when they get no sales...
with this game and all the things put in this i haw low hopes for the next mass efect game
I’m still excited no lie
make solas less importent, dont include the choices, make it look like a mobile game, make the qunari look like blue elfes with horns, make everyone can love everyone... and you have woking age: goofyguard...
i wanted to play an qunari like the iron bull... not possible. i want to play as big boobybutt warrior chick not possible... so what does the game have for me?
Bioware in name only.
I hope it fails because if they'd make masa effect it'd be just like this.
Didn't Veilguard just reach Gold?
Yeah.
Going Gold means they just finished making the game.
Trust me, you WOULD NOT want modern day bioware to get their hands anywhere near Mass effect, especially shephards legacy. Old real bioware is dead and left the company, modern day bioware made "my face is tired Andromeda", the fake cinematic trailer for e3 anthem and touted it as in-game gameplay and dragon age veilguard, this company is on life support
High on copium comment: Give it a chance and try seeing good parts of the game, Iam looking forward to story and musíc from Hans. And about graphics... i mean yea those darkspawn look terrible but other than that its fantasy game and i expect fantasy beein more colorful or cartoonish and Mass Effect as sci-fi beeing more realistic-like looking.
I heard the theme. Didn't like it. I actually preferred the one from the gameplay countdown. Hope the rest sounds better but still, DAO has the best music. Cartoony style in a dragon age game? No. I can see that in fable for example, but definitely not here.
@@N7PathfinderAi How is Veilguard cartoony?
@@jamesandrews5629 Because it is. Smooth faces, no details at all.
@@N7PathfinderAi That is not cartoony, it's just clean. Yeah, it lacks the grit of Origins and 2 but the faces are fine just a bit shiny. Have you seen the hair, the eyes, the facial features on the previews? I mean come on, we can put scars on chests!
@@jamesandrews5629good you can play I’m out!
Normal gamers are getting just tired of these anti-woke meltdowns over this game, and others. I suspect most will ignore the artificial hate rants and will buy the game. And will see that while the game has some really silly woke stuff, just like all previous Bioware games, its still fine game.
You're not a normal gamer you're not even a gamer at all you're just an activist mad that people finally had enough of your decade long crusade.
If everyone who thought woke games were great actually supported them, this argument would have legs to stand on. Dustborn, concord, ktlj, and star wars outlaws all flopped, cater to an audience that doesn't exist, you go broke. The only fake outrage is people upset that 90% of gamers don't want modern day Commifornian sociopolitical issues stuffed into their ESCAPIST entertainment. We play games to escape real life, not get beat over the head with it. Contrarily, games like Black myth wukong and space marine 2 open and uphold resounding success simply be catering to the audience that likes to spend money, escaping reality. If people showed up like this to "woke" games, they would be successful, sadly they aren't.
@@mace7077 Games like Concord flopped because of other reasons not because it was "woke."
@@jamesandrews5629 perhaps we can explain this from the top. A woke game isn't simply woke. A woke game starts at the beginning, the hiring process. Hiring people who would otherwise not be hired because their credentials are lacking, or are not as effective as the top candidate. When a company puts dei at the forefront, the games don't just suffer, the company suffers. The company suffers because people are elevated beyond their skill level, bioware started this when they began hiring cosplayers around the time of Andromeda, to work on character design, look how that worked out. When you hire people based on variables beyond their control, rather than merit, you get developers who don't have a clue wtf they are doing. You get ugly ass characters nobody can relate to, you get clunky generic uninspired combat. You get writers who had never written before and have horrible dialogue and story that an ai could write better. You get worlds that are generic and mostly fed into ai landscape developers instead of hand crafted worlds. You get creatures that are off tone and clearly not inspired from the same franchises. You get tonal inconsistencies, lore breaking, faulty character arcs, lack of development, minimal enemy variety, difficulty becomes a modifier of max health and reduction of player damage instead of improved enemy AI. When companies don't hire on merit, aka woke agenda, they flop because like a cancer, they infect the entire project, not just the visual elements on the forefront. To be clear, this doesn't include naturally occurring and organic progression, which is a keystone to every game. But normies knoe that isn't woke, that's normal diversity, which has always been in entertainment, and always should be.
Concord failed because the characters were gross and unrelatable. The clear agenda of modern day commifornia only reaches a miniscule audience in America that never seems to show up. The matchmaking required a large audience and that audience is busy on fortnite and overwatch. The developers said if you don't like it, don't buy it we don't need you, attacking the potential fan base. Hollywood does the same thing, attack their own audience, then get surprised when they don't show up. You can't guilt trip and abuse a fan base to show up, they are all realizing this now as their franchises tumble and stocks are in free fall. Looking at you ubisoft.
BioWare is dead, even if they make another Mass Effect it will almost certainly be awful. They are now about idealism and conformity and no longer care about their fantasy realms.
its not Bioware i love, its the IPs the worlds like Mass Effect and Dragon Age. If Bioware closes, sure we ma not see them ever again, but, then again we still might. Star Wars survived Fox selling off their movie studio, and EA did bring Dead Space back after the original studio went bye bye. Anything is possible
They not in trouble at all. Lmao! Y’all just can’t be happy. Dragon Age: The Veilguard will be a success.

Make a video based on fact not rumour and gossip.
Wdym rumours? Those are facts.
@@N7PathfinderAi Low preorders are rumors not facts especially when EA said that their preorders are going as expected.
The issue is it's Dragon Age meets Mass Effect meets the Sims you hate any one of though type of Games it's A No Thanks. Though who liked Dragon Age Origins or Baldur's Gate 3 It's a Nope This is going to be selected few will like this & the rest just seeing how the story ended. Like it or not it would be worst Online.
I think it's just fearmongering, you can't legally lie in shareholding meetings. If EA says that Dragon Age is doing as expected then it's doing as expected. I just feel that it's clickbaiters trying to drum up drama.
Oh, you must have missed the part where Ubisoft told their shareholders that Star Wars Outlaws is going to sell very well. How did that work out?
@@StephenG-kw1lp There's a difference between a prediction of it's going to sell well and a projection of preorders.
@@jamesandrews5629 it was a PROJECTION of preorders.
They don't need to "lie" an expectation or a projection is whatever EA wants it to be. They can say the preorders are higher than expected if their expectation was selling 1 preorder.
It's just legal corporate wording to keep investors.
The thing of it is, you need an investigation to find wrongdoing. "They wouldn't do that, it's illegal" is idyllic, but like tax evasion,. they might not think anyone will notice. Even then, as another person already mentioned, the wording is vague enough to be hard to dispute. Maybe they expected low preorders due to a climate against preordering. Still low preorders meeting expectations.
After the disaster Veilguard will be do you really think these clowns will give us a good ME game? The best you can hope for is a trans Sheppard...At this stage it's better for Bioware to get the Ubisoft route and be bought by someone who cares...
