  • Jack (from Martins Hi-Fi) & Katie (from Linn) introduce the Linn Selekt DSM. This video shows you the Selekt, talks about upgrades and how it works.
    The Linn select DSM (Digital Streamer/Media) is a modular and upgradable all in one Hifi component designed to be the heart of a simplified lifestyle system. It will depict beautiful sound out of your streamed music and digital/analogue sources with a musical performance usually expected out of traditional component systems. Out of the box it will play from major streaming services such as Spotify, Tidal and Qobuz (if you have the relevant subscription) as well as your current locally stored music libraries. It is also a Roon endpoint.
    Taking aesthetic q’s from the legendary Sondek LP12 its form is meant to be seen, touched and interacted with, bringing the tactile experience of music back into the home without losing the practicality that modern music systems champion. Precision engineered and designed in Glasgow, UK.
    For further information and demonstrations please contact Martins HIFI, Norwich. Tel:01603627010 Email: Info@martinshifi.co.uk

    So we can't directly connect a usb hard drive to the usb port, only connect directly to a PC? If so, that's a shame, the Cambridge streamer can allow you to explore the contents of a usb memory device on its screen without needing a PC.

    It is supposed to be „modular“ yet the phono stage is mandatory!
    With the amp module it costs double the price of a Majik DSM offering only 10 Watts more power. DAC has also the same specs (24b/192Khz). OK it does now support DSD but still no MQA. They somehow could not transport the info why it is better beside the chubby volume knob.

    @martinshifi :
    Do you think that the Amp integrated version of the Selekt can perform well with the KEF REFERENCE 5 ?

      I will check, but I think those are the ref5 behind Katie & jack, and they sounded amazing. Plus the Selekt they are looking at it the Linn Selekt DSM with Integrated Power Amp & Katalyst.

      @@martinshifi Actually ... those are the Key Reference 3 Speakers .... they sound OK with the single Amp module but I've heard them with the bi-amp modules in the Select and they definitely sounder tighter.

    I just want to throw in a question to all of you.
    Does the lady (Katie) actually know what she's is talking about? It seems to me that the guy (Jack) was much better prepared for this kind of presentation than the Linn rep.

      That's very possible, as most people working at Hi Fi dealers are real enthusiasts and eat breath & sleep the products they sell.

      Yes, actually, she does know what she's talking about. I attended a Linn presentation and she did a very good job, both with the on-script presentation and the Q&A afterwards.
