I'm preparing to be Chrismated and to partake in the Holy Mysteries and Pater gave me Bishop Kallistos Ware's introductory book to the Orthodox faith and church to read as part of the process. I'm halfway through it, and it was a pleasure to find his video here.
Your videos helped me a lot in my conversion and now I'm revisiting the whole channel to watch everything under a different light. I'm really happy I found this video which I haven't noticed before. God knows why! I'm very grateful to you.
    God bless.

If you're interested in Greek Orthodoxy, Bishop Kalistos Ware has written an excellent introduction: ''The Orthodox Church: An Introduction to Eastern Christianity'. he gives a good historical and cultural context for the tradition, too.

I really think it's because of the word itself. A LOT of normal secular youtube channels when tackling the subject blur the word when they say it so that the youtube bots don't mark their video. Obviously in this case it's completely taken out of context. And why should there be such a censoring? people aren't mature enough to even hear the word suicide?? Its just nonsense by a world which is slowly sinking into darkness and Despair.

Thank you for sharing this video. It is always a privilege to get to hear Bishop Kallistos Ware, but it would have been interesting to hear the questions and discussion that followed, too.

I disagree somewhat with his "active participants" statement. I've attended a few Orthodox Liturgies and the peope in the parishioners seem to do very little besides make the sign of the cross and say "Amen". They do recite the Our Father (Lord's prayer) and the original Nicene Creed, but that's about it. All the activity seems to be made by the deacons or readers and the priest. No offense. At least in the Catholic Mass the people play a more active part: they sing, they make responses, they say the traditional Catholic phrases at the appropriate times and they also say amen and make the sign of the cross. I felt like an observer at the Orthodox Liturgy, whereas at the Catholic mass I feel a part of things, as though all is done with the participation, even the permission, of the Church, the body of Christ (the parishioners are the Church, not just the clergy). Also, and not the least important, I felt the Holy Spirit was present in the Catholic Mass.

That has not been my experience. And the presence of the Holy Spirit has most definitely been a part of my experience at Eastern Orthodox services. And, moreover, the congregation participates through singing many different pieces throughout. Indeed the Divine Liturgy is almost totally sung. Not at all just “amen”

I feel like the church and jurisdiction matter. I went to an OCA one and people definitely sang.

Facts don't care about your feelings, and your feelings have zilch to do with the presence or lack of Grace.

Many participate noetically and quietly in their hearts ☦️ But if everyone didn't, it's my call to humbly focus on Jesus and connecting of Heaven And earth united with Holy Angels and Saints in Power of God The Holy Spirit to glory of The Father ❤🕊

The more Americans there are in the Orthodox Church the more you should fear for its purity.

Evil words of satanic origins to try to divide Christ's Body☦️ God has united all Orthodox Christian Church members with Christ as Head, not dividing us based on nationality

Not at all. Once someone becomes a member of the Orthodox Church he ceases to be an American, an Englishman, an Indian, an Arab etc but is given a new identity in Christ and becomes a member of the Body of Christ. America is the hope of Orthodoxy.
