Certainly a very strange sensation. I was going to Swindon the Sunday after cracks found. Very very weird but fun. They pulled back the turbos from the south west to run from Reading to the cotswolds via Oxford and used 387s to shuttle Paddington - Reading - Didcot Parkway while one cleared 800/802 ran from Didcot Parkway to Bristol. Tidal waves of people changing at Didcot. Very very fascinating operations.
Great video - this is a really peculiar sight seeing a c2c unit still fully branded with the GWR PIS and onboard voice announcements on the this route! Hope they are being helpful with GWR though - might need them back soon as c2c passenger numbers are picking up again!
They fully installed the data onto the train with ease aye. Whereas they barely try the same thing with other TOCs when they use units on unorthodox routes. Like I don't think class 379s have the PIS for the lines going towards shenfield. I'm not entirely sure anyway
@emmanuell0010 At the time Great Western borrowed these trains from C2C for the Newbury route since they had a train shortage in 2021 with the IET’s due health and safety concerns and they had to transfer their 387’s to the Paddington routes at the time.

Great video! This is such a strange situation man… GTR (southern) interior, C2C branding and blue doors, and the GWR announcements! Wow!
@ToCaterham thank you very much glad you enjoyed the video.
@@adamrichman4765 Np and I did :)
They are now on great northern
It's just a GTR 387 with blue doors lol. 8 think they should have at least out more colour On the unit.
Lovely
@TransporterTony thanks for the comment glad you enjoyed the video
sadly c2c no longer have 387s don't get me wrong 357 EMU's are great but it was nice to have a change
they have 720s now to replace 387s and some 357s so sometimes there is a change (and more common)
I was travelling on the train and went past west ham c2c depot and saw a train that looked like this parked there. Idk if it was this train or not.
Well this train is or was a c2c unit so could be.
Nice
why is it Great Western Railway when it shows c2c

thought he would use the toilet
Is the interior identical to a normal GWR 387?
Dominic Findlay the C2C trains that GWR borrowed have the Southern interior but they do have the ironing board seats like the GWR class 387’s
