Cant wait for Tom to watch ds9 and there to be a clip of him going " you know what? Profit and Lace - probably the best television episode of all time"
My top five list features some of the usual favorites, but a few more unconventional choices: 1. Damok - Not a technical episode, but very smart about how two cultures meet and communicate. 2. Night Terrors - Aliens sleep kidnapping crewmember mystery. 3. Relics - The Scotty Episode with the Dyson Sphere. 4. Cause and Effect - Time loop episode/Groundhog's day. 5. Genesis - Body horror episode where the crew de-evolve and turn into monsters.
The only hypocrisy I can think of is putting a ferengi in a duel against a klingon fully aware of the fact that the little guy stands no chance For the most parts they are pretty honorable as long as protecting their honour doesn't involve a massive Civil war potentially with romulan interference (like the whole plot around worf and the dumas sisters, when they threw away worf's honor because certainly an essentially exiled klingon couldn't care less)
The episodes look worse and worse as time moves on, but the concepts of the episodes were truly mindblowing. Some still are. And they're good reference points still. Darmok: Pretty cool to think of when it comes to communication. I believe there's another encounter in a Star Trek episode (might be Voyager) where they encounter a silicon based race which communicates entirely different as well. I love those episodes that makes you think outside of the box. Might be dumb to look at, but interesting stuff nonetheless. And I feel like they do this concept justice in ST: Strange New Worlds as well. Inner Light: It's a little drawn out, sure. But Picard is well known for not liking children, and in this one he gets to live a whole (albeit simulated) new life and have a kid in the span of a few hours. Imagine the possibilities if this was true. The flute thing is cute as well, and I like that it makes reappearances later on in the show. Conspiracy: I think I saw this episode at a friends place that watched everything dubbed in German (we're Danish), so that episode in particular gives me summer of 1995 vibes in particular. Also, I absolutely love practical effects and stop motion, so what a treat! Those parasites still freak me out..
I agree, Darmok and Inner Light are horrendously overrated but to each their own. Personally, Tapestry is one of my top 3 TNG episodes. I think he's gonna like it.
Tom's "Careful Ben, Packleds are listening" is just perfect 😂

I call that phaser setting "closed casket".
THERE! ARE! FOUR! GOOD EPISODES!

As someone who only watched TNG in the last couple years. The best of both worlds is still awesome. Sorry Ben, the Borg are simply epic.
Aren't the Klingons kinda supposed to be hypocrites who only apply honour when it suits them?

The one where the guy has to commit ritual suicide at 50 was pretty heartbreaking.
@@foreng3095 maybe the only good lwoxana episode
I think that there are plenty of great episodes of TNG, but this is just a really bad list.
