His mind is still sharp it's just his articulation was waning. My neighbour is 92 and while she is crocked, her mind is as sharp as a pin. Young at heart!
Hes just like John Bogle the founder of Vanguard, very sharp to the end, just show you how reading and thinking can keep your mind to a really long age
I just want to point out that, while a few weeks from death, this man got up in the morning, put his suit on and went to CNBC to give an interview. I can only hope to still be doing that at 99, and up to my damn near last day. What a man.
I never met him personally, but after everything, after so many years of everything he's done for Berkshire and everything he's said during the investor conferences, it honestly feels like I've lost a friend today. He will be deeply missed. Truly one of a kind, Rest In Peace Charlie.
Rest in Peace Charlie. A true Titan in this industry. My whole investment ideology is based on Charlies evolution of Warren’s value investing strategy. You will be dearly missed OG
I am sad. I'm 48....and certainly knew Berkshire, but I only really started investing when I retired a few years ago. And I really started listening to the ethos and wit of Munger and Buffett. I truly feel tears coming on. Man....eras, are ending - -- and 'something else' is beginning. A mentor of mine from afar.....
A great service to the entire world. A day of grief for me. Much love and respect for this man who changed how I think and behave. RIP Charlie, my teacher. From Bangladesh 🇧🇩
RIP to an Era.... Thank you for your 99 years... 😥“Those who keep learning, will keep rising.” - Charlie Munger | The Graph GRT, the best is yet to come, but you have to learn...
Charlie had amazing cognitive skills right up to the end. We should all be so fortunate. I have learned so much from him and Warren, a debt I can never repay. Thank you, Charlie.
Munger and Buffett have both achieved an incredible feat with Berkshire. They've turned thousands to billions, and have made a lot of people wealthy in the process. I really saw the potential of the stock market by reading Berkshire's annual letters. I recently sold my $674k apartment in the Bel Air area and I'm hoping to throw it into the stock market. I just don't want to lose everything.
Most people either do not understand the power of compound interest, or are just impatient. For the average Joe, however, I think it is just best to invest in the S&P 500, and just wait, which is reliable, albeit extremely long-- lots of years. Or just use a professional analyst and speed up wealth creation. Most people underestimate the power of the latter.
I agree with you. I started out with investing on my own, but I lost a lot of money. I was able to pull out about $200k after the 2020 crash. I invested the money using an analyst, and in seven months, I raked in almost $673,000
@@apip6387He's 93, so he's already done that. Man up, he was 99, he wouldn't want his investors to feel like that dude! Now is a time for remembrance and celebration.
What a man Charlie was. Of the pair Warren is often sited as the teacher but Iv been picking Charlies brains for more than a decade and I am much better of because of it both educationally and financially. I will really miss his interviews. Gone but never forgotten
*Rest in peace, Charlie. You were a gift to humanity. Your wisdom, intellect, and perspective will be missed dearly. I can only imagine what Warren must be going through. You guys were together for over half-a-century. The world will miss you, Charlie. Lots of love and respect!*
It's crazy to think that Charlie was born when Soviet Union was just created and Hitler was still not thought of gaining power . Charlie was a living history along with his personal accolades.
I listen to him everyday. I lost my grandpa when I was just 10 and feels like he was my grandfather from whom I was meant to learn, learn and earn wisdom. He has guided my life and transformed me in honest, hardworking person of this society. Thank you Charlie❤️ I will keep you in my thoughts till I die.
I had hoped to attend my first Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting in 2025 and catch a glimpse of Charlie Munger in person. Sadly, that won't be possible. Rest in peace, remarkable man.
Thank you for everything you did for us small investors. You gave us hope and prosperity that it can be done. May you rest in peace. You were a good person. Thank you, thank you.
Probably the most influential piece of stock investing advice I follow came from Charlie Munger- Buy stocks of good businesses at reasonable prices! Don't sweat getting the lowest price, just get a good price, and trust the business to move the stock up over time. Sounds simple but hard to do.
Only discovered him & Warren a few years ago. Trying to learn something about investing. I learned so much from both. Charlie told great stories & said things how they are, plainly & decisive. Him & Warren were easy to listen to. Amazing history. I will miss just listening to him.
So sad to learn of Charlie Munger's passing. Condolences to his family, Warren Buffet, BH and USA. His interviews and his ideas in literature will guide us in learning from him a thing or two on business and finance.
The amount of emotion that’s been displayed by so many different people shows just how loved Charlie was. He had that anecdote about the motion picture executive who when he died everybody showed up to the funeral to make sure he was dead. Charlie was the opposite of that person. How could you ever want to say goodbye to someone like that? I think we’re always going to miss him ❤
Never thought I would tear up for a stranger but Charlie taught me how to be a man, he taught me to avoid self-pity, envy and resentment, he also taught me to stay cheerful and do what I’m supposed to do, very simple lessons that have changed my life, I love you Charlie, hopefully I can grow into half the man you were.
RIP....one of the greatest investing minds....kinda sad im only 24 and only started hard core investing earlier this year so i didnt get much time to experince him and i was really really hoping to see him at next years shareholder meeting because i was planning on going....really sad at this news, i normally dont get sad over peoples passing but this one sucks
The personal lessons Charlie taught me were as valuable as the investing lessons. Facing hardship with grace and courage. Being truthful. Being a man and having a strong moral compass. God bless you brother
A billionaire died, he took absolutely nothing with him, left all his gains to someone else. Wealth on earth means nothing when your time is up. Invest in your soul, seek peace, do what is just, forgive and let it go. Seek The LORD and love your neighbor. GOD help us all.
I loved listening to Charlie Munger speak. He knew so much and was eager to share, and of course he had a wonderful sense of humor. I think Warren Buffett had a tough time keeping up with him. It made for a great partnership. The meetings won't be the same , that's for sure.
If we say Warren is the King of Investing or the Investment King...Charlie Munger is definitely a or rather THEE King Maker of Investing ...Rest in Peace Charles Thomas Munger
Although he achieved great financial success, he suffered such terrible personal tragedies. Through it all, he remained optimistic, and kept his witty sense of humor. It's hard to imagine a BRK annual meeting without Charlie Munger. Let's all eat some See's peanut brittle and drink a Coke in his honor.😢
His wife divorced him, took his three children and house, and left him penniless. His 9-year-old son died from leukemia. He had a botched cataract surgery that required removal of one eye and left him nearly blind in the other. All of this happened when he was 40-50 years old.
One thing that made Warren and Charlie that are heads and shoulders over everyone else about making monies is their ego take a back seat! Charlie took a lot of know how and common sense with him!
. It has always made sense that him and Warren would support traditional investment companies and not venture much into AI, crypto etc investments. Dont know why people always crucified him over his views on those. He was just doing the best he could with what he knew. I reckon he would have just dwarfed todays tech investors if he was 60 yrs younger. He was THAT smart and one of a kind. RIP Charlie.
I am so sad. So devastated. I wish he crossed 100 in January. But its the life in the years that count. I wish Buffett gets to live longer than Charlie at least. Lofe isn't the same without them.
I'm concerned for Buffett. He must be heartbroken and to be that at age 91 is not good for your health. I hope Buffett can get through this. I'm sure everyone is rushing to him to give him emotional support right now. Stay strong Warren, it's what Charlie would have wanted.
I’ve been dreading this day. I know age comes for us all, but I still dreaded it. I was surrounded by people I admired just like Charlie-meaning his straight talking, sometimes can be seemingly rude, but overall very high quality people-and I responded to that kind of tough honesty. He makes a lot of sense. His sensibilities and way of looking at things is greatly admired by me. I have not met Charlie in person. But I have listened in to the BH Annual Conference. I have read a lot of articles about him. I have his Almanac. I watched a lot of Becky’s interviews with Buffett and Munger. Charlie is one of the greats to leave this world. RIP. And as for Becky, she is really one of the best interviewers. She was respectful and professional. I liked the way she handled them not fawning not rude. Just smart and respectful. When I think of Warren and Charlie interviews I think of the Annual Conference and Becky. 💕💕💕🖖
