Duck Girl I like it too but when I thought the transition to singing was a bit clunky. But I still really enjoyed it.
Honestly saaaaame! I feel like it just makes it feel more "real" for me in lieu of a better word.

I love the emotion that Shelby Brown brings as Veronica. She's probably one of my favourite interpretations of the character. Also, Charlie Meredith - his voice is amazing. I really want to know what he sounds like when he sings Meant to be Yours. Love this so much :)
Taylor Wong Taylor Wong I agree completely! They have great chemistry. I love that you can see them smile right before they kiss at the end. I've never seen it done like this (granted, that's because in most versions I've seen you could only see their silhouettes).
I also really like that she didn't sing most of the first verse and shouted "let me in." It sounds a lot more... raw this way - not pretty, but more true.
That little riff on "with me" though!

I definitely agree; her Veronica is the best I've seen from the videos on youtube (and there are some great ones, don't get me wrong); she really plays the sarcastic and snarky, but emotional Veronica from the movie, and is probably the closest thing to Winona Ryder's Veronica. Also the best "Seventeen" rendition I've heard. It's my favorite song from the musical and both Shelby and Charlie together made me almost cry with it, great job guys! And yes, I'd also love to hear "Meant to be Yours"! :)
I can't get over how good these two are at their roles. The emotion they put in is fucking amazing

Summer Rose it's always kills me to watch Candy Store when Chandler pushes Duke because I have super weak ankles and I'd literally break myself if someone pushed me over when I had heels on.

Love the chemistry clearly shown between the two, and the small things like how JD winces every time Veronica asks him to choose her like he's having trouble deciding. Amazing!
I love this so much, but I'm scared that people will put dislike simply because it was different from the original.
And to people who do that: Not every rendition has to be the same.

I wish this was a movie it would be awesome and a bit better than the original I LOVE MUSICALS

I don't know if I'm imagining it but it kinda looks like JD inwardly winces every time veronica asks him to choose her like he's frustrated that he needs to do this to keep Veronica which I thought was really cool :)

I think he's just acting/singing passionatly. I don't see an inward cringe towards choosing Veronica
I think you're right. I didn't catch it at first, but he does it twice. He kind of scowls the first time, and then the second time looks down and subtly shakes his head in a short "no". Like he's thinking "Really?! You're *really* making me choose here?! We can't just murder the whole school *together* ?"
I adore the choices this actor made to play JD more manipulative like the movie.

I'm sure you can! With some practice and finding your vocal range you could be great! think about your voice as an instrument. You won't be absolutely perfect the first time you play it, the same with when you use your voice. It takes practice, and maybe watch a couple youtube videos, learn more about using your voice and you'll be on your way! Just be patient and practice vocal warm ups, sing some songs, and have some fun learning and chances are, youll even hear improvement the move you do it! :)

Ugh, I'm i ntwo camps about this. One, I love how this differs from the Broadway version. It's angrier, but still has some lovely vocals. But at the same time, I love how soft the Broadway version one was. It really built up to the belting at the end... Not sure which to choose...
But you don't have to choose, you can just like both ;)

This, by far, is one of the best versions of the musical I've seen. Shelby Brown, boy, she portrays Veronica's sarcastic personality alongside the emotional part of her. Charlie Meredith, wow. I am genuinely lost for words. His voice is amazing, such a great portrayal of JD. Meant to be Yours must be amazing. Not forgetting what such a great cause this is for. Just, wow. Can't wait to see what else you guys have planned!
Is it just me or are some of JD's harmonies (teen/do/right) different from the cast recording? In any case, they sound amazing!

Acting Against Cancer Kudos to your musical director (or whoever made the change)! It sounds a little "darker" to me, which really suits the song!

i instantly noticed the "right" harmony and i screamed in joy. The chemisty is SO strong, so the differences make it stronger in my opinion. Love this cast!

One of my absolute favorite interpretations of the song! I love how veronica is occasionally taking steps back waiting for JD to make moves, it really drives home that she needs him to want to be good for her. Also the chemistry with these guys, the way their voices blend, the acting altogether is just seriously so amazing. great job by these actors :)

I hear a lot of people getting angry when someone does a song differently then it’s written or different than original cast but I think it’s the best part of theatre! Seeing people put their twist on my favorite songs. It’s not always the same. And that’s what makes its fun.

Totally agree. They both have great voices, but Veronica is terribly overacting, while JD seems like an uncomfortable kid who was forced to be in a play by his teacher. Makes it hard to watch.

In the other videos on this channel I thought Veronica's acting was kinda dry and I didn't feel like she was putting her whole heart into it, but she did a lot better acting wise in this number. Her singing has always been awesome though.
