I love the idea of having a video like this but you went so fast you missed a lot of the later picks that had 99 potential. Consider doing one where you go slower to make sure you get them all and track them year by year to see how their careers go
I'm 23 years into a Mariners franchise and in year 20 I found a 99 potential 18 year old SS with an 81 overall to start in FREE AGENCY!!!! Undrafted...
Year 8 left fielder Jamaal Root was their last pick and had 99 potential. That's two years in a row they have a really late round pick with 99 potential and he didn't notice
some stuff i’ve noticed during my rebuilds and yt ones: generational talents are almost ALWAYS C/1B/3B. they do pop up a little too often, i think it shouldn’t be that common. position player prospects really need a buff, SP are incredibly easy to draft but position players are really bad. i hope they make some tweaks but overall it’s been a really nice improvement from before
also the generational prospects all have almost identical stats it’s pretty odd, really high hitting in all categories but can’t really field. would be cool if there was a little more variation like maybe a guy with insane power and fielding but the contact has a lot to be desired
@Chandler Russell i agree but most of the generational talents have bad fielding stats so they aren’t really 5 tools lol. i just think it would make it more interesting if there was variation because most of these guys have very similar careers.
ive have seen tons who are good fielders. as a matter of fact in my current sim i have a ss/2b who is a good all around hitter and has 89 fielding, 80 arm, 74 reaction
I also don’t agree with them being 78+ overall.. maybe once in a blue moon one could be but when is a 18 year old MLB ready? Never. I think they should cap at 75-76
I have seen 2 generational prospects in 13 years of my franchises. One was a second baseman and the other was a catcher. I wish they would change it up and let us discover possible generational prospers instead of them always being at the top of the draft. Mike Trout wasn’t at the top of the draft when he was picked. There also needs to be more generational OF. Pitchers are easy to get especially if you discover them if you are drafting lower in the draft. They need to make some tweaks to the draft it needs some polishing for sure. I don’t mind there being so many generational projects 60% isn’t bad at all. Just need to be better positional players and get rid of closers being at the top of the draft.
@@TnJonUA-cam I had a draft where the best player was a 88 potential 65 😭. I have had some of the most dog crap classes lol. Most of the guys who have been good have been discovered players for me lmao. I will acknowledge I did see one draft with 2 generationals but tbh I have just had abnormally bad luck
Can you make video on how exactly you do an expansion team draft in game? Would love to make an expansion team just having trouble on how you started. Love your content!
There's no actual game mode for it. Basically just swap players in a custom roster for your team and then load that file. When I did it I just took no more than 3 players from each team and just mentally decided which 15 players from each team would be protected in real life
i can say 100 percent you are not speaking the truth, you havent simmed 50 seasons and not seen any. i have a hard time simming 3 seasons without seeing a couple at the very least
I just had a draft where two generational prospects got drafted. I drafted one at #3 who was ranked #2 was an 18 year old 3rd baseman 83 overall 99 potential. The other was a 2B who was ranked #1 but didn’t go until #7. 81 overall 99 potential. Both decent fielders and hitters. Both really well balanced actually
I have seen C, 1B, 2B, and all OF positions be generational talents. They are always 18 and always early 1st round prospects from what I’ve seen. I ended up with 4 on one team in a draft only rebuild. Glad they have them now, but their ratings are all about the same, they seem to grow into the position they play. CF gains more contact fielding and speed, 1B gains mostly hitting attributes. I don’t like the fact that they never develop traits. They are stuck with 1 or none their whole careers. The drafting/rebuilding process is better than before, but still needs work.
Yeah I wish there was more development all the way around, they chose to make drafting the key addition, I hope next year they focus more on development
I haven’t seen one in what was my only draft I did in a sim to get a hang of Scouting but it does appear that it’s a bit too often based on all the videos around UA-cam. Maybe it’s the realistic franchise player in me but I wanna see maybe 1 or 2 players in general be “Generational” in a 10 year sim. I’ll take A and B potential rated guys that are still in the 50-60’s and even a C or B that ends up in the 60-70’s but in a way we need to not use the word “Generational” to mean a great prospect and I’m speaking for myself too lol 😊
I get what u mean, I don’t mind seeing low 70s 18 or 19 year olds but I agree that having the 80 overall guys once every 4-5 seasons instead of how it is
Ok, I've done about 20 draft now, and there is not a single generational talent to be seen, is there something that I need to change for my setting, because it is getting a little bit frustrating 😕
At 8:21 Damon Moyer from the pirates second to last pick had 99 potential and was 20
10:09 Jamaal Root, Brewers last pick had 99 potential
2:20 Yankees Stewart Workman 19 y.o. CF looks awesome
Yeah. I know 98 isn't generational but it's really close and I noticed a few 99 potentials down the board this guy missed
I love the idea of having a video like this but you went so fast you missed a lot of the later picks that had 99 potential.

just had a 19 year old 99 pot 2 in a row
9:41 Pirates drafted one too
I'm 23 years into a Mariners franchise and in year 20 I found a 99 potential 18 year old SS with an 81 overall to start in FREE AGENCY!!!! Undrafted...
Man drafting that 57 Potential Guy with your first round pick was sickening to watch lollll
Did anybody else see the 99 potential the brewers drafted in the last round in year 7
8:21 the pirates drafted a 20 yo SS
10:10 was a 22 yo LF Jamaal Root
Second to last pick by the Pirates in season 7 was Damon Moyer and he had 99 potential
Year 8 left fielder Jamaal Root was their last pick and had 99 potential. That's two years in a row they have a really late round pick with 99 potential and he didn't notice

ive seen a few outfielders. some speedy contact hitters with no power, they just arent as abubdant as the 1b/c/3b. in my current sim i found a lf
ive have seen tons who are good fielders. as a matter of fact in my current sim i have a ss/2b who is a good all around hitter and has 89 fielding, 80 arm, 74 reaction

9:42 you missed 20 year old, 99 overall, Damon Moyer of the Pirates.
Definitely!
The pitcher wasn’t generational. I drafted an 18 year old 80 overall starting pitcher 8th overall
And he was 99 potential. Obviously
In the second draft he missed that there was a 98 overall potential
What makes no sense to me is how two-way players are in the game but yet aren’t in the draft nor can you even use someone as a two way in minors.
Yeah that is very strange for sure
The Giants have Reggie Crawdford. He's a relief pitcher. I use him at first base and he's pitches. He probably won't make the majors, though.

I agrée that there are not nearly enough outfielders
Bro I only see one every like 5 years lmao I have seen like 4 total in 25 years of Franchises I am hella unlucky
That seems unusually low compared to my testing
@@TnJonUA-cam I had a draft where the best player was a 88 potential 65 😭. I have had some of the most dog crap classes lol. On season three of literally passed Mariners third baseman, 99, high school 18
How do you get to that screen where it shows every team's draft picks??
Can you make video on how exactly you do an expansion team draft in game? Would love to make an expansion team just having trouble on how you started.

I keep seeing draft them all the time but I haven’t seen a single one yet and I’ve Sumer atleast 50 seasons
i can say 100 percent you are not speaking the truth, you havent simmed 50 seasons and not seen any. i have a hard time simming 3 seasons without seeing a couple at the very least
can you create custom players and stick them in the draft
I just had a draft where two generational prospects got drafted. I drafted one at #3 who was ranked #2 was an 18 year old 3rd baseman 83 overall 99 potential. WHOA
I saw in year 2 someone drafted a 98 potential in the later rounds

ive noticed those 50 overall 99 pot guys will get good half the time. they are mid to upper 20s but they do get good alot of the time
Yea but they take very long to develop, if u are playing a lot of seasons it’s worth it but not if u have no patience
Ok, I've done about 20 draft now, and there is not a single generational talent to be seen, is there something that I need to change for my setting, because it is getting a little bit frustrating 😕
None of my prospects are developing traits. Is that supposed to happen? i know last year they would. Help i need to know
57 potential hahaha
horrible game, OOTP 24 is the way to go!!!
