Armia is the definition of inconsistent. He'll be a ghost for 3 games, then looks like the Habs best player. I think he's gone after this season though
Canadiens have after Patrik Laine joined them, stepped up and started to beliebe on themselves and play their fast skating game. Montreal' s fourth line has been great too. Jake Evans and Joel Armia especially.
@@kevinrichards7437 Yeah, but Dvorak is likely gone after this year. It's a shame, but he hasn't lived up to his potential. So the future centers of the Habs are looking like Suzuki, Dach, Beck (as early as next year) and eventually Hage, but by the time Hage is in the NHL (which I anticipate will take 3 total years in college, and at least part of a year in Laval, i.e. he joins the Habs mid-2027-28 season at the earliest), a hypothetical extension for Evans could be in its final year or two, depending on term. So I expect him to be re-signed for a minimum of 4 years. We still need him. At least I think we do.

Evans and Armia have been phenomenal tonight, really shaped up after the horrendous match against the Pens. 5 wins in their last 6 and is 3 points back of Ottawa. The team is pushing for a WC spot, seeing progress is what's important.
The Habs had great secondary scoring. Caufield & Suzuki can't score every single game. That's why players like Newhook, Evans & Armia are so important.
Evans is truly a gem on the bottom six. I hope our pseudo-connoisseurs won't want to trade him for another 2nd or 3rd round pick that probably won't see the light of day for 5 years. We are lucky to have him. Why trade him and then look for another player like him? In addition, he was “born” inside the organization.
Because if some GM wants to go full tampa bay and trade 3 1st rounder for a 28 year old UFA, we still need to listen. Of course, we're not gonna trade him for a second...

Just think if Montreal's so-called primary line (Suzuki-Caufield-Slaf) could kick it into gear. Lately, it's been mostly secondary lines that are scoring
