With the disbandment of Gfriend and the hiatus and maturing of Weeekly, CSR is now my go-to group for that youthful pop sound I love K-pop for. I wish them all the best. They deserve so much more.
csr has been one of my favourite debut groups everything about them is so refreshing and nostalgic at the same time i hope they continue with this sound that got me (and probably a lot more people) into kpop originally because i think they will find a strong fanbase who's been missing this sound
The one you said you love her is Iimura Yuna, Japanese ofc, one and only foreign member of the group also in charge of dance in their group, she dances so well and her expression is on point too! Her singing is good too, i love her vocals in pop pop bridge where she did adlibs there.

I did some digging during their debut out of curiosity, and this group’s label, Pop Music (who also houses Ailee) is a subsidiary of WYSIWYG Studio, and *they* have done VFX work for Netflix, Marvel, Warner Bros, and more. So, as to where that awesome monitor came from, I’d guess it was borrowed from the parent company lol. I wouldn’t guess that this group has a TON of money being poured into them, more that they’ve got a backing of incredibly talented people who know how to utilize and move around skill/equipment to all of their company’s interests.
Yeah they kind of don’t have that Nugu company feel. With the amount of strings their company had been able to pull (they arranged a meeting with SINB from GFriend/Viviz) and the amount of airtime they got from 1TheK I would have thought that they were affiliated. Also they were under another company as 05class during predebut - all points to them being under a larger umbrella company.
Any plans to check out LIMELIGHT? They are from 143 entertainment which is the company that manages Kep1er's Mashiro and Yeseo, so it's a good chance that they will be joining the group later. They "predebuted" about 2 months ago, however, it may as well have been a full debut with how much they invested into it with a mini album, 2 MVs, special clips, a variety series, and full music show promotions. The songs they released music videos to were Starlight and Eye to Eye, and they have special clips for rest of the b sides. I believe they will be making their debut in January with another mini album.
PD I hope you also check out fifty fifty they debuted on november 18,2022 with the mini album "fifty" they are a 4 member group under Attrakt. And I have got to say their vocals is top tier and also aran's voice is pure bliss!
I'm surprised comparisons to Weeekly (and specifically After School) weren't made in this video. That 'singing with heart' feeling is the same thing you responded to in that video, and feels like a great secondary direction (along with GFRIEND) for this group to go.
This is another song that sounds sad to me even though it isn’t sad, like Love Bomb or Love So Sweet. I personally like it more than their debut and have had it on repeat for days lol

There's a newly debuted 4-membered girl group called FIFTY FIFTY, they released an EP with the title track 'Higher', along with songs 'Lovin' Me' that also had an MV and 'Log-in', that had a Performance Video. 'Higher' is very different from the usual k-pop and the three songs with videos are wildly different from each other. Overall I think it would be an interesting group for you to check out!

The first is 백야 (Long Live The King) by KINGDOM. From your previous reactions, you seem to be consistently impressed by them, and I don't think this one will be an exception to that! I'd love to hear your thoughts on the video and VFX used in it! From what I've heard, they've already recorded new music. This is a fast moving group with a relatively strict release schedule, and they already had to postpone this comeback due to the loss of a member and addition of another. I'm expecting the next release to be relatively soon, so I hope you won't miss this one before it rolls around! And the second would by Higher by FIFTY FIFTY. This is the group's debut title and impressed me! If it really says anything, they are the first girl group I'm set on getting to know more and possibly calling myself a fan of! It'd be great if you give them a listen, too! I recommend listening to the rest of the album as well :)

The song is by MonoTree (who are classically trained) and e.one and they are absolute masters of melody so maybe that's why you're getting that vibe!
