After the terrible showing against the San Francisco 49ers, Ryan Poles is so squarely on the hotseat! Three years of rebuilding, three years of a bad offensive line, three years of a mediocre defensive, and three years of not improving the Bears record. This season, the team has some toxic players in the lockeroom. All these add up to a red hot seat for the GM, you can see it on his face.
He should've been fired with Eberflus. He's done more bad than good. He has the same record as Flus but he's even more responsible, he's the GM, not the Coach. He's failed to adequately address the offensive line. He's made poor trades, he got rid of Roquan Smith and David Montgomery and replaced them with worse versions for almost the same price.
Getting us Caleb Williams is not enough to absolve him! We couldn’t do worse with Bo Nix or Jayden Daniels ffs. Waldron and Flus collectively cost us the entire season and putting our rookie quarterback under a whole new scheme for the how many times now will likely ruin him too! Not one of our previous quarterbacks didn’t have talent. Mitch took a lot of heat but he had a spectacular 2018 season and threw 6 tuddies in a game. Fumble Fields did well in Pittsburgh. Neither had a competent o line.
@@Joseph-gm3qm it’s so frustrating. We’ve been through this so many times, rinse and repeat. If Halas Hall was the White House, I’d gather a crew to January 6th them!
I wouldn't even call the Sweat trade a positive Faiz, he got hosed . Paying an early second and then a big contract for Sweat who has 4.5 sacks on the year was fn dumb looking at things now that the dust has settled. He sucks. He's got to go.
Reasons to let Poles go 1) claypoool trade 2) sticking with Eberflus 3) Caleb Williams getting killed by pourous offensive line 4) poor effort by the bears starters 5) trading Justin fields for next to nothing 6) trading Roquon Smith
Poles also had a hand in hiring Getsy who was also fired by the raiders this year. He said he’d build through the trenches and that seems like a flat out lie. We have the worst o line or one of them in the whole league. D line isn’t that great either. He focused too much of his draft capital for a secondary that can’t seemingly cover zone. Get rid of him already!
Yes please get rid of him. He got rid of good players. And now they’re doing better elsewhere. Kept Velus Jr and the old head coach longer than needed. And the offensive line is worse than it was before he took over.
Poles has replaced excellent talent with finesse FLAG footballers. Poles has turned the Bears into the softest weakest least physical team in the NFL. Poles needs to go now
So what story is it? Poles wanted to fire Flus and McKaskey said no. Or he wanted Harbaugh and Warren said no. Or he wanted Flus to come back? It can’t be all of em and I’ve heard all 3. Let Poles finish what he started..
Poles traded roquon Smith and justin Fields to the Steelers for Chase Claypool and a conditional 6th round pick. That is why Poles ass should have been FIRED last year.
Pole didn’t hire flus, the mccaskeys hired flus under Tony dungys recommendation. I remember thinking how idiotic the mccaskeys hired the coach then the gm. But these are also the same people who allowed pace and Nagy to draft fields.
Losing record will hurt his credit ability as a GM. I believe that next season organization will give GM a last shot to get it right. On the positive side, GM drafted a franchise QB can possible save his job. The top needs to be fixed first.
What doesnt help Poles is what happened in Minnesota. The coach there was hired a few weeks after Eberflus. They have a huge QB change with a suspect Sam Darnold. How did they handle that? well seems like they didnt skip a bit with the change. We are still stuck on bldg this team - offensively we should be WAY better - not called a Comback Kid type of team. I don't think it a bad idea Kevin Warren is taking over sometime you need someone that will willing going to clean up the mess and really fix the problem.
Bears should just start over at GM since they are getting a new head coach... Ryan Poles definitely doesn't deserve to keep his job. The list of mistakes Ryan Poles has made is too long to list... Ryan Poles LOVES to overpay players who don't deserve it. Poles overpaid DeAndre Swift, but Poles let David Montgomery go to Detroit... that is a great example of what I'm talking about... Tremaine Edmunds is another overpaid player that comes to mind... Nate Davis was giving 30 million dollars, 20 million guaranteed & did absolutely nothing for the Bears. Poles draft picks are not looking great either... Tyrique Stevenson is horrible!!! Tyrique Stevenson has a big mouth off the field & can't cover anyone on it... Velius Jones Jr. was another horrible draft pick... Poles giving up a high 2nd round pick for Claypool...the list of Ryan Poles mistakes is just too long to list them all.

Personally I want the OC from Detroit, Poles needs to know this is his Last Hire so he better damn well treat it that way...... the players we already have no way in hell should we have 4 wins.... No F'n way.......
I said this last season trading fields and getting Williams they will not be able to get a good o-line by trading the first round pick so this off season they need to fix the o-line exclusively in the draft andthey have 80 million in cap space in free agency. I knew this year would not be good but this team is worse than I thought .Ryan poles will have one more year to prove it or he's gone

I believe he will finally address the offensive line in the off season. Even pace got the bears to the playoffs in his short tenure, so i think he will get one more chance.
Ya'll wanted Flus fired during the season and couldn't wait till the end. Now ya'll get what you asked for. A worse coached team with a defense that instantly dropped from Top 10-15 to bottom 20's. Did you think the Bears were gonna play better AFTER Flus was fired? What were you expecting? Yeah Flus is the root of all of the Bears problems, so once we drum him out during the season the team will instantly play better. Especially after we put the passing game coordinator with 1 yr of bad OC experience in to lead the team. Now you turn your sites on Ryan Poles as the root of all the issues? I’m not ready to give up on Poles yet. I believe in his process. I know a lot of people have dogged on him for building the team backwards but I honestly think it’s a smart way to go about it. The guys in the trenches are the biggest difference makers when it comes to wins and losses but to get over the hump you have to have a good amount of talent at those skill positions. But it becomes harder to acquire those guys skill players when you’re winning 9 or 10 games in a season and picking in the middle of the rounds. You can evaluate a cornerback really well when he has to defend his guy for a bit longer because there’s no pressure on the quarterback. Same thing applies to your receivers. Can they get open quickly when their qb is getting pressured. The hardest truth pill to swallow is that we were never going to do anything this season because Caleb just was not NFL ready and needed a year of reps and seasoning. The offensive line really isn’t as bad as it seems. Caleb just holds onto the ball way too long and isn’t seeing the field very well because he’s a young rookie who’s been able to lean on his amazing talents his entire football career. Flus absolutely had to go because he was losing games that should’ve been won with boneheaded decisions and it was becoming painfully obvious that the players were going to revolt but Poles is still applying a good process that just requires patience. The only reason I'd say he shouldn't be on the hot seat is if some reports I've heard are true and that he wanted Eberflus gone before the season started and he was vetoed. If those reports are false then yes he's got to be on the hot seat.
Poles didn't "RE-UP" Eberflus. He was under contract for another 3 yrs and was only showing improvement in his first two years. At what point do you blame the players for not playing with heart?
