So, I legitimately love all of these characters, but Skid's Buggles is one of the most amazing characters I've seen in 30 years of Role Playing. This is brilliant. And Troy, if you ever want to teach a Master Class on "How to be an amazing GM," I'll sit in the front row. Wow.
I saw they used one of your shorts on MXR Plays, you guys are hitting the big time now. I hope you don't forget all the little folks when you become Podcast Gawds and you start hawking your own dropshipped coffee!
Opening with a Color of Money reference. Love that film. It's the movie I often think of when talking about a small role where an actor was absolutely brilliant. Forest Whitaker really stole the scene from Paul frigging Newman. Incredible.
KC BBQ recommendations - Joe's KC (go to the original gas station location for ultimate authenticity; it's on Anthony Bourdain's list of 10 places to eat before you die), get the burnt ends. TRUST. TRUST. They also have vegetarian options (Zman Portobello for Matthew). The Z-Man is their signature sandwich, and is rivaled by the Carolina. Joe's is known for the all-around experience. Q39 is fantastic, but it's their meats that really shine. If you like a more vinegar-kind of BBQ, Arthur Bryant's is right up your alley. LC's is also AWESOME, but it's probably farther out from where you'll be staying.
The best 'Austin' BBQ is in smaller towns outside Austin. Black's (original Kent Black pitmaster) in Lockhart (45 minutes SE) for best beef ribs & great brisket and Mueller's in Taylor (1 hour north) for the best brisket I've ever had are my favorites. Also, I think Franklin sold Franklin's? Confirmation needed from a fellow Austinite. Cooper's in Llano garners 3rd place on my list, but 2 hour drive.
Kansas City also has Arthur Bryant BBQ...most notably made famous in Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis is a KC native). We went for the first time a few months ago and it was pretty special. Janky old building, but so authentic and such a cool experience.
Best sports movie is actually a tie between Remember the Titans and Rudy. Sandlot is a close third. AIR is a pretty good unconventional pick, if it counts.
Kate is wrong about KC BBQ. It isn’t Vinegar based. Can’t wait to see you guys. My recommendations are Joe’s KC, Q39, Arthur Bryant’s, Gate’s (if you want to go in and have someone yell “Can I Help Ya?!?” when you aren’t ready), or Jackstack.
Seeing the art for Keneepo is disappointing. Classic case of the terror built up in your head being worse than the thing when you finally see it. Sure it looks creepy and gross but Troy has always described it WAY more terrifying. Wonder how much of that is his embellishments... if it is it just shows hes just that much more incredible of creator/performer. Great Ep!
I agree, I was envisioning Keneepo as more "Slenderman-creepy". Troy's build up and description of him was fantastic, it is a shame that the art doesn't do it justice (not that the art is bad, it just isn't "spooky")
Action: Aid, page 416 Player Core Remaster. "When you use your Aid reaction, attempt a skill check or attack roll of a type decided by the GM. The typical DC is 15, but the GM might adjust this DC for particularly hard or easy tasks. The GM can add any relevant traits to your preparatory action or to your Aid reaction depending on the situation, or even allow you to Aid checks other than skill checks and attack rolls." Base DC is 15 not 20.
Everyone in KC has their "go to" BBQ spot and there's a yearly "BBQ bracket" for the number 1 KC BBQ place, so theres plenty of places to try. I highly recommend KC Joes
Is there any way I can see the playlist they use? So many great tracks that I would love to use in my own games! If not, does anyone know the track at 33:55?
maybe the gang got very lucky, but it would have been interesting to see what a failure looked like in the ancestry machine, if Buggles would have just inherited a human ancestry he could have grown a few feet and maybe his damaged ears would have been replaced by human ears........not sure if a half human/goblin is a success or crit failure though tbh :D
I've been enjoying many of the GCN pods for years. But watching this on UA-cam is the best way to enjoy this content. Thanks for posting it!
Wow, thanks!
@@TheGlassCannon Q'n; How did you get the SNL band to do your intro? I've been wondering that for months!

When Joe turns to the side and lets out that scream of abject terror- funniest thing ever!
I just realized today that Sydney's voice as Asta has a musical quality that's very pleasant to hear
Troy's eyes really sold his Kaneepo. Creepy and plaintive at the same time.
IMO Troy is best at boss-villains!
hahaha OMG Skid is the best. "Twins, they share a soul. individually they're monstrous. I think is what Sydney is saying" hahaha
Outstanding role-playing this Ep - kudos to the whole party 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks!
Kate should have said Blood Sport with Jean-Claude Van Damme
As per the picture at the end of the feed, I vote that Kate and Sydney should run Mork Borg! make it so!
I've been wanting to see sydney gm for like 3 years now.
Yeah! I'd love to see it, although I liked their characters!
Because it was filmed where i live and I got to see some of the process of film making from a distance, Major League is a go to sports movie for me.
"HAAAAGS, BROTHER RAMEUS!!!!"
I saw they used one of your shorts on MXR Plays, you guys are hitting the big time now. I hope you don't forget all the little folks when you become Podcast Gawds and you start hawking your own dropshipped coffee!
For cheese's sake, these characters are absolutely astounding. Everyone does such an incredible job with bringing out interesting role play.
Matthew: "her pupil goes to a vertical slit"
Sydney: "A goat!"
Matthew: ".... It glows slightly"
Me, amusing myself: "a gloat!"
Glowiest of all time
Enjoyed the experimenting with the tree balls... and that we didn't have to see what a nat one did to anyone.
I so wanted a nat one to be rolled lol
Another thing, when you gain the changeling heritage. Your vision goes up one. Kitsune are low light, essentially she gains darkvision
You had me at Ross Bryant.
Amazing setup for the next episode and a huge battle with the horror of the lands.
A League of Their Own for sports movies. Great work on the testicles!
Some really great roleplaying, and acting, at the end of this ep! wow.
dude that promo reel for Bladerunner, your video editing (editors)are top-notch!
Thatnks! They do a great job!
Another great show. Love the monologue.
Thanks!
In the name of all Hungarians, we are proud to share a quarter ancestry with you, Skid! 😄
Great episode ! Awesome role play and foreboding ! Eeeeeeeek !
Character heavy! I loved it!
The Laundry seems cool, and Skid's love of Creed is shared here. Best boxing movie ever, especially if you've watched all the Rocky movies.
Opening with a Color of Money reference. Love that film. It's the movie I often think of when talking about a small role where an actor was absolutely brilliant. Forest Whitaker really stole the scene from Paul frigging Newman. Incredible.
NGL both of those commercials got me hype for whats to come.
Give us a natty 20, Kate!
She's due.
Does "Youngblood" qualify as a sports movie?

100% agreed with this
Awesome episode!
My favourite sports movie is the original “The Cuttiing Edge”
So good

Finally got to watch live-ish.
MONEYBALL!!! Joe always has the great opinions!
GCP cures depression.
It also impregnated my wife after years of infertility.
Sydney with the Gouge Away shirt!!
Sick Gouge Away shirt!
John Candy took a pay cut to be in Cool Runnings because he liked the script. Fact.
I’m SHOCKED no one mentioned Angels in the Outfield!
I love The Color of Money. But my Dad brought me up watching The Hustler in reruns
Necessary Roughness is an underrated gem of a sports movie!
Also: KC BBQ is known for burnt ends. Order the burnt ends, thank me later
Snapshot is definitely my favorite!
I think the correct answer to the sport's movie question is a tie between Sandlot and Lords of Dogstown
Mighty Ducks? No?
Hooked on a feeling
Great episode loved the Roleplaying.
My favourite sports Movie is The Hurricane.
My favourite Baseball Movie the Rookie.
My favorite sports movie is Dodgeball: An Underdog Story

Oh, Skid @28:30 😂😂😂

Laughing Shadow can do ranged and aoe damage pretty good and use spellstrike with it. You just need Expansive Spellstrike feat.
So, does The Sandlot count as a sports movie? Great sesh y'all.
It sure does!
Joe with the nat 20 sports movie, Moneyball. Incredible soundtrack too with This Will Destroy You
WOOO
LET'S GO GCP
42:43, you're welcome
You are a saint
I was so worried no one was going to bring up Slapshot.
Not the greatest sports movie but a dramatically underrated one: Diggstown, starring the late great Lou Gossett Jr.
A minor „we are stupid“: With Remaster, Aid is only a DC15 Skill Check. Really improves the Action a lot, especially in early game.
I know they've already been to Austin but I gotta plug Iron Works. Best BBQ I've ever had
I'd like to submit For Love Of The Game as a candidate for best sports movie.
I was really hoping for a dance sesh, but I guess I'll have to wait a whole week to see them moves 😒
Sports Movie- i'd go for a fictitious one - ''Rollerball'', the original with james caan 1975
Call of Cthulhu field of dreams would be 🔥
Oh my favourite sports movie is either D2: The mighty ducks or The Replacements! 😂
Field of Screams is the GCP version of the movie.
Eddie the Eagle is a great dark/funny sports movie.
Brother Ramius: "I...know kung fu"
Not a huge sports fan, so I'm going with Baseketball!!!!!!
Action: Aid, page 416 Player Core Remaster.
"When you use your Aid reaction, attempt a skill check
or attack roll of a type decided by the GM. The typical DC

Favorite sports movie: The Replacements
My favorite sports movie: Breaking Away
The Sandlot. Best sports movie.

I could listen to sydney doing astas voice for hours. So melodic.
You guys need to watch Moneyball! That’s a great sports movie
I don't see what's so weird about the ghosts of scandalous baseball players helping a man posthumously reconcile with his estranged father.
here i thought the answer was either Major League , Necessary Roughness, or A League of Their Own.
Sandlot? No?
Is there any way I can see the playlist they use? So many great tracks that I would love to use in my own games!
If not, does anyone know the track at 33:55?
Miracle is the best sports movie. Hands down.
Joe wins! We watch Hoosiers at least once per year.
Obscure sports(ish) movie that is excellent: Finding Forrester. Not exactly sports movie but close enough to fit imho.
Lmao you the man now dawg
KC style BBQ is absolutely not the vinegar based garbage of the Carolinas
How did no one mention the best sports move of all time: Happy Gilmore
Bloodsport is my favorite sports movie
Bad News Bears!
Breaking Away. Ciao Bella!
Aaaaaaand....Kate just showed that she knows NOTHING about BBQ
I didn't get the Fox talk joke (28:30) : anyone know the reference ?
It's the (meme) song from Ylvis called What does the Fox say. It's oddly catchy and absolutely ridiculous.
@@mariovarga2892 Thank you ! I just watched it. My personal culture is now richer :P
Major League is the best sports movie ever made. Juuust a bit outside.
maybe the gang got very lucky, but it would have been interesting to see what a failure looked like in the ancestry machine, if Buggles would have just inherited a human ancestry he could have grown a few feet and maybe his damaged ears would have been replaced by human ears........not sure if a half human/goblin is a success or crit failure though tbh :D
Is skids inspiration the dude from jakoe Chan adventures with the dragons voice In his head?
That “gouge away” shirt! go Sydney! The Pixies 🤘🏻
Aid is usually a dc 15 now I thought
Best sports movie: Rutger Hauer's The Blood of Heroes.
I’m disappointed nobody mentioned Wildcats
A league of their own is the greatest baseball movie
remember the Titans best sports movie.
