**ON-SCENE** Henderson Old Hall Student Accommodation fire, Newcastle.

At around just after 14:00 on Thursday afternoon (08/06/23) Multiple appliances from Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service respond to a large building fire in Henderson Old Hall in Heaton, Newcastle. When the first few appliances arrived, the building was fully engulfed.
As the fire continue to spread, the area was obviously becoming unsafe due to the level amount of smoke and large pieces of area was then cordoned off. At this time, the incident was declared as ‘Major’ and the incident has been scaled up to make pumps 10.
Firefighters worked throughout the night & early morning to bring the fire under control.
Appliance attendance altogether:
- x10 pumps from various stations.
- x2 alps (1 from Gosforth and the other from Marley Park)
- Incident Command Unit (ICU)
- Senior & DCF officers.
and rest of resources from HART and Northumbria Police.
