This music with the degraded moves being displayed makes me feel kinda melancholy. What happened to make him like this? Such a charismatic guy struck down to be a silent guy incapable of communication and poor body control. But he fights anyways. If it really does turn out that Q has been damaged and yet continues fighting, it just makes the character that much more awesome.
But the thing with Q is that, despite pushing on to keep fighting, he called himsel an abomination and wanted to die hence the kamikaze Super where he literally explodes after a certain amount of time. G says fighting can bring everyone together, so if Q pushes on only remembering that state of mind, he could be fighting in a chance to find help or even an ally to help fix him somehow. I dont even recall if Elena even encountered him, and shes friends with EVERYONE
I think G is really the avatar of Gaia. Maybe, in some point of his history, he will be captured by Iluminatti or S.I.N who will make some experiences with him, removing the gold from his body and his connection with the power of the Earth. Being an amargured and sollitaire man, trying to make some justice and to reconnect with the Earth.
A really interesting note is that G's b.HK is a brazillian kick, one of the hardest and riskiest moves to pull off in martial arts. The low into a high sweep is meant to disorient your opponent into blocking low while getting clocked along their shoulder and jaw. G pulls it off flawlessly, but Q always puts too much energy into the raise and gets swept. The fact that Q even remembers how to do this might be an indication as to how much of G remains behind his iron mask.
Honestly I prefer Q. I like that he has extreme heft to pretty much all of his moves even if they're executed clumsily. He might not have technique, style or body control that G seems to possess but makes up with it in sheer force, it's an interesting alteration to the usual martial artists.
It feels really depressing knowing G eventually MIGHT turn into this, even if he(idk for sure)might be on the evil side. That degraded kick at the beginning where Q falls over just makes me want to give him a hug
Honestly it kind of annoys me that some people act like G and Q being the same person is 1000% confirmed even though there’s no concrete evidence to prove it. However, they are definitely linked somehow.
@@maaax5092 Because there are a number of different ways to interpret their similarities. One thing for sure is G is related to Q, but so far; 99% of people in these comments don't even consider the fact that Q is literally seen in multiple countries at the same time in numerous photos that was being investigated by the CIA (which is a highlighted part of Q's story), and that Q has no face at all underneath that mask (and a bunch of other differences, like Q being black), both of which supporting the idea that G is not Q and at most; Q is either a follower or a creation/replication of G. Besides; it'd be really lame if G is actually just Q cuz it's so painfully obvious and pretty much takes away what's most interesting about Q.
itsacharcoalice he seems like a 3rd brother to gill and urien , he uses the skin transformation stuff the same way gill and urien did in sf3 , where certain attacks coat him in gold the way urien was coated in steel and gill was coated in fire and ice
Also note in the trailer they specifically used Banana hammock urien, the way he appeared in SF3 you could tie him in with Urien even without that, but it's a possible hint to G relating to SF3, and thereby Q.
A Real History same thing happened to Holdor in Game of Thrones. It went from "Haha Holdor! 😃" to "Hold the door...😢". Why do these writers gotta do the cool and/or fun characters like that man! I can't enjoy these characters when I know that they will get fucked later on in the story or when It's revealed that they were fucked to begin with 🙁. Seeing how fucking awesome G is, a character with more hype and swag in his pinky toe than the entire SF cast, then knowing that he'll become lesser than a shadow of himself tears me up inside.
The costume also does a great job at linking G/Q to the guy on the boat in Ken's stage. Also thought it was just coincidence, but this with the color scheme really hammers it in.
@@snaek2594 I think He's (Facetank) trying to refer to the Man wearing a trench coat and hat that can be seen in the Background of Ken's stage in the Street Fighter II games.
He might mean the murdered and ressurected treatment. Charlie came back but didnt function completely how he used to, thanks to the modifications Urien had made to his body. If this is the case with G as well, he might;ve gotten it even worse, as Q cant even access Gs abilities from the earth.
So many people acting like G and Q are confirmed and canonically the same guy when there’s no real evidence to prove it. Kind of annoys me, but they clearly do have some kind of connection.
if you compare G's fire like abilities to Q's DANGER super in 3S it makes it even more interesting that Q is just a very unstable shell of his former self which was G
@@Motolmang yeh they definitely are connected in some way, my guess is either that G wants to turn everyone into brainwashed drones and Q was his first victim, which is what he means when he says he wants to unite the whole world as one. Either that or G and Q work for someone else with the same goal, the possible main villain of 6.
My personal theory is that G somehow did become, “President of the World” in the end, but at a cost. In Third Strike Q is seen all over the world in a short amount of time with no explanation as to how he can be in so many places at once. So maybe G got the power of the Earth or of the People idk but it fragmented him, which causes him to be much less controlled and more reckless. He still aims for his ultimate goal, being “President of Everything” which is why he still remains a Street Fighter, and why in some of his battle intros people are seen running from him, because he is trying to use them to attain this title.
ISO64 that rings up the issue of human skin being seen under his mask and the skeleton that can be seen when he gets shocked. Unless he’s got a metal skeleton as a robot for some reason that shouldn’t be there.
My theory is that G and Q are not the same person, but they work for the same person. There goal is, as G often says, is for everyone to be one, and the World to be united. By united they mean brainwashed husks of people, such as Q.
I felt confident that G was Q after playing him. Watching Q trying to replicate his former G moves is breaking my heart. That said - I'm glad Q is getting his time in the sun as a strong character.
I’m under the firm belief that G and Q are not the same person, but they are linked somehow. Honestly it kind of annoys me that people act like it’s confirmed canon.
@@FakeDavyCrockett I know this is a year old, but shut the fuck up dude we get it, you replied this in almost every comment. You have your own theory and other people have theirs, you don't have to shove it in everyone's faces.
One idea I don't see much is that instead of them being the same person or a clone, Q is being sort of _puppeted_ BY G, or by another party utilizing G's powers. After all, G does go on about unity and having everyone follow him. The golden/yellow glow to Q's eyes could conceivably be an indication that G's abilities are being used somehow. There's so little to go off of that it's not much more out there than other theories.
Its been pointed out before, but Q doesnt show a skeleton when he is electrocuted, so maybe he's made of solid gold, it would explain why he's so durable.
Not shown here due to age, but G's V-Skill 2, G Protection, gives G a defense buff each time he uses it, persisting till a KD like his Presidentiality Gauge(and taking the hit instead of it), Lv2's animation for it additionally is clearly the Q Taunt
I love how Capcom is playing the mystery of this character, I think G and Q are probably the most interesting characters in Street Fighter history because they never reveal their full hand. If G does end up being Q in some major accident, it’s gonna be super depressing seeing this very charismatic character turn into a broken walking husk of the man he used to be, but all the more awesome!
A qoute from Q: "I am......an abomination" Im sticking to my guns and saying something happens to G and ruins him, considering 5 predated 3rd Strike. Heck, even G is a secret boss character just as Q was. Unless of course the letters are in terms of experiments of a naming system, much like 11 and 12 or how all the Dolls were named after the months in the year.
This is an EXCELLENT video! Great job! I'm a bit of a Q fanatic and have been digging G, so seeing these connections is great. I've been having a field day with juggling my own theories and looking at what others have to say. Keep up the good work, and thanks again for a great analysis!
I noticed that G's win pose (not the low health win pose) has him make a similar pose to Q except that he faces towards the camera instead of away from it.
Also another thing. It is slight but you can actually see on Q's spirite if you look close when he is on th eground you can see he is blonde and has pale skin just like G.
The fact capcom went through the trouble of giving G Q’s moves. Painstakingly recreating them. I didn’t think G was Q now I’m starting to doubt. Their skin tone is different on their necks when Q falls over.
The only piece of evidence, I can think of, that might disprove this theory is the fact that Q shows up in Ken's stage in SF2 which is referenced in Q's third strike ending. Since SFV takes place after SF2, how could Q exist before G? It's a small detail, so it could easily be red conned, because the theory that G becomes a tortured experiment of the illuminatti is pretty reasonable since they've tested on other humans before like Necro. But, a small part of me still hopes that G and Q are different people, and that they are apart of something more. EDIT: the Third Strike ending, I realize now, was a different boat than the one from SF2. So, no SF2 Ken stage reference in his ending.
zanpakuto man Well G is clearly delusional in SFV, so maybe there was some point in his life where he was actively a secret agent or something and wore that suit, explaining his appearance in SF2. He then became insane and later on something tragic happened to him and he became Q.
at 0:32 of that video it shows an image of Q on a boat, so I assumed that was the same boat he was on in Ken's stage. I realize now, it's just the dock stage from third strike. Thanks. My bad.
If G truly is Q then I’m sure some fucked up stuff happened for him to become such a depressing almost zombie like guy. I’m sure gill probably kicked G’s ass and then put on a mask to keep him from talking so much, which probably made him into an almost unrecognizable version of who he once was.
I’m thinking that for one reason or another G loses his connection to the earth, embarrassed and ashamed of this fact he decided to hide his face and identity while on a search to regain his connection to said earth. During this time he adopts the moniker of Q
Here's another slight thing many will overlook, is that you can kind of hear Q saying something when he wins sometimes, he says something like "Huh... I don't believe it", he says it when he is about to do the win when he steps on someone but stops. He has a southern-like accent when he says it, and G obviously has a southern-like accent, too. Go to this video ua-cam.com/video/JKVerv1k_P8/v-deo.html and skip to 920, you can clearly hear he sounds southern-like in almost every grunt and word too.
I can only imagine G saw a Deadly Attack (Maybe a Terrorist Bombing) and it made him sad and depressed with the humanity he once saw as pure, And he became Obsessed with seeing the worst in humanity (Explaining why he shows up at crime scenes a lot) and eventually, lost his own humanity, ultamitely becoming Q. That, or maybe he tried to Fight Gill between The events of 5 and 3, And lost horribly, Traumatizing him as Gill scarred his face.
Well one theory about Q is that there is more than one, so Q has been thought to be clones. Maybe the Q's are clones of G. Now the next questions would be who made these clones and why?
Oh gosh, I advocate for the return of sprites too. Sonic Mania and Octopath Traveler show that this style of game is a unique look connected with the gaming world and can still be popular. We can see 3d animations in movies, and in tv but pixelated sprites, that is our world.
Lovemachine preference and tbh it depends the 3D is not that bad and when you have 2D you have a bit more room unless you are doing like Anime Games or the Art direction is based on more extreme movement
The only model bad in SFV honestly is Kens face and his banana hair. in some images, it looks fine but the actual model is far from it. Id say both are perfectly fine for their respect games. Now if we wanted to compare 3D sprites to 2D ones...look no further than KOF14. While functioning great mechanically, the character models vs character portraits vs opening/story cinematics are what scramble my brain. That and wondering why Kyo looks tired, all the time
I like that G is bracing himself for impact/keeping his balance during his attacks while Q is throwing his everything into every motion, even taking over at times
Great video! I hand't noticed how similar Q's taunt and G's v-skill are until now. This is some really entertainment goin' on here, good job keep it up!
There are old docs from Capcom back in the third strike days that show Q as just a big British dude with his mask off, which is why if you select Q vs Q you play on Dudley's stage with the Q theme playing. Now that I think about it, I think that G is to Q what Gill is to Urien. Remains to be seen if they'll ever rectify the transplantation of all his moves though.
Its interesting to note that while SF6 is canonically set after third strike there are still posters of G around... Makes me wonder if they are indeed the same person or shares a co-existance somehow...
I like to imagine that Q arrived on Earth from somewhere else, and was completely confused on how to act or be around people. He then started to learn, and he learned what people like, and he started to form his own thoughts, and just totally rose the ranks of the world to become president. Good for him, I say.
Given this information, as well as other things apparent about G, here is my theory. G's powers are a reference to Asura's Wrath. At the end of that game, there's an epilogue portion where it shows the characters reincarnated into the modern world. In Asura's Wrath, the main enemies are demons that come from the Earth itself and use magma powers, called the Gohma. Their "leader", so to speak, is known as Gohma Vlitra, and is known as "The Will of Gaea". G constantly talks about having the power of Gaea and the Earth. It's possible he may be a reincarnation of the Gohma in some way, or perhaps even Chakravartin, the true mastermind who created the Seven Deities, Mantra energy, and the Gohma. Naturally, his powers could draw the attention of people interested in utilizing them for their own purposes. People such as the Secret Society/Illuminati. Gaea represents the powers of Earth and Wind. Gill has the powers of Fire and Ice (Water). Urien has the powers of Metal and Lightning. These are considered the six natural elemental forces, a belief especially prevalent in Asia. It's possible that the Secret Society may end up kidnapping G, and either killing him or brainwashing him. We've already seen what their resurrection technique entails as shown by Nash. It's possible that Q is a resurrected and/or brainwashed G. Resurrected is more likely, however, because Q animates like a zombie, or even a robot, and his skeleton as shown in 3rd Strike is actually robotic in nature. G may have suffered extensive damage, and the resurrection process damages him even more, leaving him in a severely crippled, but alive state where he has little to no motion control and is on life support through his cybernetic enhancements.
I would say Q is a sort of counterpart to G. Maybe a failed clone or something. My guess is that the Illuminati tried to clone him in order to obtain a soldier with G's geokinetic abilities but failed and ended up with a husk of a person who went out of control, kind of like when, in Young Justice, Cadmus tried to clone Superman and ended up with Match, an insane and uncontrolable husk who can only think about fighting
I’m actually blown away that I never realized ANY OF THIS until now. I guess I didn’t pay attention enough. I hope we get Q/G in SF6, maybe then we can have Q getting back to his former self(?)
Capcom did something similar to this with Seth's moveset in 4. One of Seth's up heavy punches are oddly similar to Urien's and Gill's, if I remember correctly.
The thing is, Seth is a Copy fighter He has supers and normals from many characters (His Focus Attack is basically Urien's Shoulder Charge), but in this case is different, since G has almost every move that Q has.
On their appearance, G and Q both have blonde hair, G's energy attacks are golden, Q has golden light emanating from his eyes, and though unclear maybe the golden tattoo G has used actual gold and might explain why Q's electrocution X-ray is blocked at his skin level. That last one is a bit of a reach, but no-one else mentioned it.
You forgot about how the phase 2 of G's v skill 2 is literally one on one a replica of Q's taunt and it also functions like Q's taunt by increasing defense
My take on this is that, in Q’s ending in 3.3, they suggest there might be multiple person in trench coats all around the world. It’s not impossible given what we know that Q are henchmen of G, hence the similar moveset, and their presence all around the globe (as G calls himself President of The World). I surely hope they never touch on this again though, I wouldn’t want Capcom to mess with these characters to much, I like them because of this lack of information.
In SF3, Q’s ending, Q was considered a prime suspect of 12 murders all across the world in 10 days. The things could help prove or disprove some “G = Q” theories is: the people that were killed, the connections (if any) they’ve had to one another, if Q actually killed them, and if there is more than one Q. These are things that I don’t see a lot of people taking account for.
The fact that the shadaloo cri description for G’s trench coat costume mentions how color 15 looks like Q implies that the two exist at the same time, which would discredit the theory that G is Q. I believe that Q is a follower of G, which would explain the similarity of their moves. Q is trying to mimic his master, but lacks G’s expertise, similar to how the shadaloo soldiers try and fail to do M.Bison’s psycho crusher.
This comparison was even more on the nose when V skill 2 came out, which has a near identical effect to Q's taunt and one of the stages of which has the same animation as Q's taunt.
Man, I love how SF3 animations are so smooth and bouncy, they don't make animations like these anymore. I also wonder what happened to him, he lost all his powers apparently
I love Q’s elasticity and the kinetic motion in his animation movement. I love how his body and clothes really show the strength and effort he puts into his attacks. Unlike 5 where clothes and hair have spazz attacks and clip through the character models.
It hurts that Capcom may never explain how G and Q connect, but if they do, it may become the most interesting piece of lore in the entirety of the Street Fighter series
This should have been obvious BEFORE G was even Released. The pun on G and Q: GQ? From that alone, I knew that G and Q were the same person. I figured that out last year when his name was announced.
I’ve thought about this video every now and then for literally years, and I just thought of something that I’d never considered before! Most of the fan theories here are that Q is G’s body (and what’s left of G’s mind), or a clone of G’s body, or whatever. What if Q is actually an android created to carry out or carry on G’s will? What if that’s not a mask at all? What if it’s just his bare metal robot face?
I wonder if the mystery behind Q will be solved in SF6. Will they reintroduce Q, G or a new character to do so, or will they leave Q's existence a mystery forever? We'll just have to wait and see.
I did see someone with a hat and trench coat in one of the trailers that slips out of sight in the open world Maybe Q will return as a hidden boss like he was in third strike and they’ll add him later
David Curry crouching heavy kick, around 0:28. Slow mo it Edit actually around 30 but you can see blonde hair in the neck in a lot of animations if you watch closely. If it was just shading, it wouldn't use a light yellow having browns in the pallet (like the ones they use for the rest of the neck)
What I found interesting about Q's shock animation on 3rd strike is that if you look on the top of his head you can see something that looks like a bullet hole. If it is maybe that's the cause of his clumsy movements.
With SfV's Gill story now out. A good guess would be that G could've been used as a basis for Twelve clones to be made mimicking G's moves, explaining their clumsy execution
It actually makes me sad...he keeps falling down trying to do his old moves. His mind is so broken that he can't recall how to attack correctly.

The way Q keeps tripping is kind of adorable in a very weird way
thank you
He is a very strangely adorable character
He was fighting Urien in the trailer. Maybe in canon he loses and gets experimented on by Gill's org?
itsacharcoalice or cloned
itsacharcoalice he seems like a 3rd brother to gill and urien , he uses the skin transformation stuff the same way gill and urien did in sf3 , where certain attacks coat him in gold the way urien was coated in steel and gill was coated in fire and ice
His gold coating isn't complete. There's purple on areas that were gold in his normal form. He might be from a project that was before urien and gill.
Also note in the trailer they specifically used Banana hammock urien, the way he appeared in SF3
you could tie him in with Urien even without that, but it's a possible hint to G relating to SF3, and thereby Q.
Van Dagylon clone could've been the most likely possibility. Maybe G was as well and so might explain the single letter naming.
This has very interesting implications...
Oh God all these theories in the comment section are amazing. Q is such an enigmatic character.
yes i am
Lmao. Imagine needing a theory for a character that was a half-assed addition from what he originally was
@@crussteasock4047 its fun to read what people think about the character. In the end is just a game lmao
Hes like pyro
I believe that G is Q
That Gill broke G and he degraded into A a husk of who he once was and trying to remember himself but failing ultimately
Seeing q fall on the ground after a heavy is depressing as hell now. If it does turn out g is q then something happened and he was crippled for life
A Real History i agree
that saddens me as well.
A Real History Nailed it.
A Real History I knew I always heard him say "abomination"
The costume also does a great job at linking G/Q to the guy on the boat in Ken's stage. Also thought it was just coincidence, but this with the color scheme really hammers it in.
Wait what guy. Ken's stage on SF3 or 5?
@@snaek2594 I think He's (Facetank) trying to refer to the Man wearing a trench coat and hat that can be seen in the Background of Ken's stage in the Street Fighter II games.
Looks like G was givin the Charlie Nash treatment
Is charlie that bad?
Or shall i say nash at this point.. regardless bad or what?
He might mean the murdered and ressurected treatment. Charlie came back but didnt function completely how he used to, thanks to the modifications Urien had made to his body. If this is the case with G as well, he might;ve gotten it even worse, as Q cant even access Gs abilities from the earth.
Regner Ramos Yes what [Spawn] said, Charlie having much sluggish movement compared to his alpha days
charles chase *given
So clearly something happened to G and someone turned him into what is now Q. Very interesting
Could be a clone of G. Same organization but Q is one of many similar lackeys of G, not unlike Cammy and the Shadaloo Dolls.
omg. Q is G... G was a president from the past who died and l8r reconstructed or experimented on while alive
Abel Cardenas Exactly like Walt Disney and Hitler XD
That something is lazily putting him into the game without any of his charm
So many people acting like G and Q are confirmed and canonically the same guy when there’s no real evidence to prove it. Kind of annoys me, but they clearly do have some kind of connection.
if you compare G's fire like abilities to Q's DANGER super in 3S it makes it even more interesting that Q is just a very unstable shell of his former self which was G
There is zero confirmation that they’re the same person
@@FakeDavyCrockett
Heavily implied for there to be a connection but no full confirmation, yes. Just hoping 6 links their connection.
Mem Man Really interesting theory
Maybe hes a robot and there's more than one of his design? That could explain being at so many places at once. Just a guess.
@@ap-ix6yd I mean, its Capcom, robo-skeletons aren't unusual for them
but what about G's V-Trigger II, Dangerous President?
its almost literally Q's Total Destruction.
HackerHaunter Yeah, I was waiting for that one
Exactly! This is a very simmilar move
Nice catch. Maybe Total Destruction is G/Q's last link to the Earth being used up?
PRESIDENT
POWER
Man, third strike had so much personality.
GQ = Gentleman's Quarterly.
G is the gentleman
Q is but one quarter of the gentleman...
Or GQ = 地球(ちきゅう / chikyuu) = Earth
I forgot how cool Q’s song was!!
Another reminder of how gorgeous SF3's animations are even today. Aged like fine wine
I like how the charge motions make Q even FEEL more lumbering and uncoordinated
One idea I don't see much is that instead of them being the same person or a clone, Q is being sort of _puppeted_ BY G, or by another party utilizing G's powers. After all, G does go on about unity and having everyone follow him. The golden/yellow glow to Q's eyes could conceivably be an indication that G's abilities are being used somehow. There's so little to go off of that it's not much more out there than other theories.
This video really makes me appreciate how beautiful the spritework was in sf3.
Its been pointed out before, but Q doesnt show a skeleton when he is electrocuted, so maybe he's made of solid gold, it would explain why he's so durable.
Yeah it displays a muscular system instead
And gold IS a conductor of electricity so it'd be even more painful.
Not shown here due to age, but G's V-Skill 2, G Protection, gives G a defense buff each time he uses it, persisting till a KD like his Presidentiality Gauge(and taking the hit instead of it), Lv2's animation for it additionally is clearly the Q Taunt

@@JimmyBlack7351 Bro there's hundreds of Qs
I love how Capcom is playing the mystery of this character, I think G and Q are probably the most interesting characters in Street Fighter history because they never reveal their full hand. If G does end up being Q in some major accident, it’s gonna be super depressing seeing this very charismatic character turn into a broken walking husk of the man he used to be, but all the more awesome!
A qoute from Q: "I am......an abomination"
Im sticking to my guns and saying something happens to G and ruins him, considering 5 predated 3rd Strike.
Awesome video, finally some good evidence besides "Both names are one letter"
It's clear they're the same character
Also another thing. It is slight but you can actually see on Q's spirite if you look close when he is on th eground you can see he is blonde and has pale skin just like G.
So simple to just put the sprites over the video and yet it's so clever.
Good shit man - totally getting me Q hyped.
The fact capcom went through the trouble of giving G Q’s moves.
Painstakingly recreating them.
I didn’t think G was Q now I’m starting to doubt. Their skin tone is different on their necks when Q falls over.
Is this mysterious G mimicking the moves of Q? Or is he actually him?
*Find out on the next exciting episode of*
*D R A G O N B A L L Z*
Dragon Ball G?
If it's anything like DBZ we won't find out for 30 episodes.
After they retconned Ryu beating Sagat fair and square to Ryu using the Satsui no hado, anything is fair game to be changed.
He’s not Q he is related to him
There is no reference to Ken stage sf2 in Q's ending.
ua-cam.com/video/61J5atT1aTA/v-deo.html
at 0:32 of that video it shows an image of Q on a boat, so I assumed that was the same boat he was on in Ken's stage.
Q is actually G's Vice President.
That, or maybe he tried to Fight Gill between The events of 5 and 3, And lost horribly, Traumatizing him as Gill scarred his face.
wow, so G is Q? good stuff mate
LiangHuBBB or Q is G
But if that's the case we can't get Q as a fighter.
Unless they make it an evil Ryu type of situation!
Speaking Gameplay = yes
Speaking Story = not sure. He could be a relative/student/copy/whatever
Well one theory about Q is that there is more than one, so Q has been thought to be clones. Maybe the Q's are clones of G. Now the next questions would be who made these clones and why?
feels bad to look at 3D next to 3rd Strike and see how much better these sprites look than what we got now
Oh gosh, I advocate for the return of sprites too.
Lovemachine I'm sorry but what?
G is animated beautifully.
SFV is really bad, you can compare with Tekken 7 which uses the same engine and it is beautiful to look at.
That and wondering why Kyo looks tired, all the time
I like that G is bracing himself for impact/keeping his balance during his attacks while Q is throwing his everything into every motion, even taking over at times
q's animations are so damn good
Great video! I hand't noticed how similar Q's taunt and G's v-skill are until now. This is some really entertainment goin' on here, good job keep it up!
To think that G might turn into...this...just 10 years later. I don't usually get sad over games, but this is a major exception.
Q is 10 letters away from G
I've been waiting for my literal favorite street fighter character to return for so many years. Thank you for giving us G street fighter 5.
So Q is basiclly lifeless version of G?
I think that Q might be a twelve but I don’t want to write the worlds longest UA-cam comment explaining that.
Great video, would you mind if I used a clip of it and credited you as well?
Feel free, man
Sounds great man. It should be up by tonight. Thanks again!

Interesting
This is capcom you are talking about
Now this is interesting. Seems like Capcom is connecting all their game series to Street Fighter. The Asura’s Wrath connection would be dope af
Vulcan422 damn pointing to Asura's wrath as a connection is nice but Capcom might not go that route sadly
B.T.A Let's plays didn't they put Akuma in Asura's Wrath already?
Q’s theme is 🔥
I would say Q is a sort of counterpart to G. Maybe a failed clone or something. My guess is that the Illuminati tried to clone him in order to obtain a soldier with G's geokinetic abilities but failed and ended up with a husk of a person who went out of control, kind of like when, in Young Justice, Cadmus tried to clone Superman and ended up with Match, an insane and uncontrolable husk who can only think about fighting
arthurpprado Yeah I think this is my favorite theory
I’m actually blown away that I never realized ANY OF THIS until now. I guess I didn’t pay attention enough. I hope we get Q/G in SF6, maybe then we can have Q getting back to his former self(?)
Thank you for putting up this video! This is very interesting. My mind got a lot of theories, and people in the comments had great insight as well~
Capcom did something similar to this with Seth's moveset in 4. One of Seth's up heavy punches are oddly similar to Urien's and Gill's, if I remember correctly.
Seth has moves from a bunch of different fighters
The thing is, Seth is a Copy fighter
He has supers and normals from many characters (His Focus Attack is basically Urien's Shoulder Charge), but in this case is different, since G has almost every move that Q has.
Also G's 'Uncle Sam' pose during his super is somewhat similar to Q's portrait art, but Q's hand is up not forming a point.
KoolRanch sounds plausible
Capcom should release another story mode that sets up the events for street fighter 3.
I hope they cook something with this story line in six
This comparison was even more on the nose when V skill 2 came out, which has a near identical effect to Q's taunt and one of the stages of which has the same animation as Q's taunt.
Man, I love how SF3 animations are so smooth and bouncy, they don't make animations like these anymore.
I also wonder what happened to him, he lost all his powers apparently
???
Other than his inhuman strength and the lll super showing some connection to the earth core thing.
You know what this means for Season 4, right? A new character.
*GQ*
Why would he use his specific moves then? And grunting noises
Really interesting to say the least.
This feels right. I hope everyone see this.
I wonder if the mystery behind Q will be solved in SF6. Will they reintroduce Q, G or a new character to do so, or will they leave Q's existence a mystery forever? We'll just have to wait and see.
I did see someone with a hat and trench coat in one of the trailers that slips out of sight in the open world
Maybe Q will return as a hidden boss like he was in third strike and they’ll add him later
Speculation? more like confirmation
That music never gets old ☺️
This is a dope comparison
Can't believe I missed so many of these
damn in some q aznimations we can see blonde hair or golden skin
Javi A secas nice observations
Kevin Franks thanks, I think it just may be blonde hair though. Maybe I'm seeing stuff that it's not there. But then again g is a blonde guy.
Timestamp? I dont see it
David Curry crouching heavy kick, around 0:28. Slow mo it
Edit actually around 30 but you can see blonde hair in the neck in a lot of animations if you watch closely. If it was just shading, it wouldn't use a light yellow having browns in the pallet (like the ones they use for the rest of the neck)
Javi A secas no it is there. It is a light yelloe spot. Not the same as the khaki/tan trench coat, this is most likely G
And thats why Q sheds a tear sometimes. He is trapped, and hes unwillingly hurting people
Q-T800
G-T850
Twelve-T1000
It's simple
What I found interesting about Q's shock animation on 3rd strike is that if you look on the top of his head you can see something that looks like a bullet hole. If it is maybe that's the cause of his clumsy movements.
G is Fluid and stylish
While Q seems undead poorly mimicking G’s attacks
With SfV's Gill story now out. A good guess would be that G could've been used as a basis for Twelve clones to be made mimicking G's moves, explaining their clumsy execution
My theory is G loses his powers to Gill and Kolin gives her to Gill respectively. Without his fire, he becomes "hollow" or "heavy".
Malcolm Fitzpatrick. Mmmmmmm...sounds interesting.
Ashen One
Q uses fire via explosion in 3s
So kolin gave it back to gill??or he takes it back
G's power is not fire is earth, the "fire" only exists in Dangerous President V-Trigger, and it's not fire but magma, which also correlates to earth.
That was a nice TWIST at the end there
We now have the taunt animation from VS2. maybe a update video?
This video popped up in my feed. Crazy how this was 6 yrs ago
Wasn't there a pose on g's other v-skill which resembles q's taunt more?
Yeah, the second pose of V-Skill 2 is exactly the same, and that V-Skill functions like Q's taunt in 3S, giving defense.
