We had this song sung at our son's funeral August 29, 2013. He was killed on August 22nd when he was hit on his way home from work. A car ran a red light and struck him on his motorcycle as he went through the intersection. He was 25. His last breath on earth, his next breath was in heaven. This song ministered to the 500 people who attended his funeral. Sooooooo thankful for God's grace. All glory to Jesus.
Miss Melinda, I too love this song and Larnelle's singing. I believe deeply after years of struggle in my life that God Almighty will remove all pain and your life's journey reunite you with your son. What a glorious moment that will be. God loves you so deeply beyond our understanding. So keep seeking and praise God Almighty!
im sorry for your loss but your son isnt in heaven. at the resurrection, if he lived a faithful life he will go to heaven ! cheer up. death is nothing but sleep. nowhere in the bible does it teach us that the dead go to heaven or hell assoon as they die. please study the bible sister!
@@binary1998finary There is a time and place for everything, this WASN’T the time to express that even though you are absolutely right but I disagree with your timing.
I love Larnelle Harris! His music has been ministering to me a long time. Since the mid 1970's, his music and his heart has linked up with mine! Thank You Jesus!
Larnelle, I look forward to the day when I can see you face to face and tell you Thank You for letting yourself be used of the Lord and for sharing your talent with us, your brothers and sisters, these many years. Maybe you suspect but may not dare to believe how much you have meant to us. Thank you so, so much for everything.
I’ve known this man for my whole adult life…and I can tell you…as great a singer as he is, he’s an even better man. There have been and will be many great singers, but we will rarely see a finer man who consistently walks his faith any better than Larnelle.
Gorgeous!!! Truly Were It Not For Grace we would be wandering some pointless road to nowhere! Thank you Jesus for paying the price for our sins and extending your Grace! All glory, power and honor belong to you lord Jesus.
"Forever running but losing the race, were it not for grace". Praise God for His amazing grace. And for His kindness and tender mercies. Thank you Heavenly Father.
I never cease to marvel at the warm moving spiritual dynamic interpretative musical and vocal ministry of Larnelle's gifted talented and blessed voice delivers as he ministers in song. He use vocal range and soulful shapings that are often beyond imagination...and they seem to be just there in his spoken word melodic renderings
Brother Freeman, I'm dropping by to provide another *Amen* for the power of Music Ministry. In respect to naysayers who challenge us to question what we believe, I am here to testify about the *witness* of how much fine tuned by God Almighty can bring comfort, encouragement and healing. I have been singing for 30 years, and I don't plan to stop singing for Jesus any time soon. "You ask me how I know he lives, he *lives* within my heart." Spiritual things are spiritually discerned.
He is amazing!! Jesus definitely shines through him! I saw him in concert years ago, and since then he has remained one of my very favorite artists! ❤️
Amen,....just getting into his music more,...an amazing minstrel and pslamist :) Great when a singer has all elements - talent, skill and the anointing.
I love this song and Larnelle touches my heart and soul through his gift of music. Timeless. Thank you. For those that do not know the grace of our Saviour Jesus Christ, reach out to Him. His grace can be yours, too.
We respond to God. He seeks us and then we must respond to Him, in essence 'reach out to Him'. For all who will come to Him, He will be there. "And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely." Rev. 22:17
Jesus, I know you gave us choice and I thank you. My choice is you but I have learned I cant win the race without You! So please intervene my Saviour..
I just heard Larnelle in concert at Hopevale church in Saginaw. What a message of hope that comes through in his singing; such a great tenor. I also love when he sings "I miss my time with you". God bless you Larnelle.
The voice and songs by Larnell reaches the depth of my heart and soul. The message and the melody 🎶 are buried deep inside my heart. He sings Christ love and His message with extraordinary touch of class as one stands in the presence of the eternal King 👑
Time measured out my days Life carried me along In my soul I yearned to follow God But knew Id never be so strong I looked hard at this world To learn how heaven could be gained Just to end where I began Where human effort is all in vain [Chorus] Were it not for grace I can tell you where Id be Wandering down some pointless road to nowhere With my salvation up to me I know how that would go The battles I would face Forever running but losing this race Were it not for grace So here is all my praise Expressed with all my heart Offered to the Friend who took my place And ran a course I could not start And when He saw in full Just how much His would cost He still went the final mile between me and heaven So I would not be lost [Chorus] Forever running but losing this race Were it not for grace
I REMEMBER BACK IN THE EARLY 80IES I WAS SEARCHING 4 S SPECIAL ALBUM AT A CHRISTIAN BOOK STORE N CAME ACROSS HOT AIR BALLOON THATS WHEN I FIRST CAME TO LEARN OF BILL GAITHER N LARNELLE HARRIS THROUGH MOVING I CAN'T LOCATE THE ALBUM N I WOULD LOVE IT IF ANYONE OF MY CHRISTIAN FAMILY COULD HELP ME OUT THANK YOU N GOD BLESS YOU N ALL YOUR FAMILY AMEN
I am so sorry for your loss..May God grant you peace, and mercy.. WoW! What a testimony your son had! Remember..you are "Held" in the arms of Jesus..just as your son is now..I will pray for you!!
To everyone who has lost a loved one.. KJV 1 Thessalonians 4 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
I don’t know who the author of this song is, but it was certainly meant to be sung by Laranelle Harris, for no one else could do it justice like. Him. So beautiful!!! I love Laranelle. 💕💕
"Sola gratia" "Grace alone," my friends. "I nullify the grace of God when I begin to think faith alone and grace alone are not enough, and that I have to earn the favor of God." Matt Chandler
My brother always does a great job very anointed I listen to this song every morning before I go to work it keeps me in place if it were not for his grace
+C. Mallory I guess you can explain as a matter of fact how we all got here eh? Remember, science only speculates and has faith that things they think happened. For instance, the big bang is just a guess, a belief, a faith per say. SO people need something to believe in. You can believe on the theory of big bang and some people can believe in the theory of a creator. Which takes more faith or is easier to believe in? I've never seen an explosion make anything of order, ever.
The body goes to dust the soul (spirit) lasts forever in heaven or in hell. If you believe in him you can be saved and your soul will go to heaven if not your soul will spend eternity in hell. I hope that helps simplify for you, feel free to ask questions if you have any.
It is truly more logical and sane to believe in a God that has created everything than it will ever be to believe in "nothing" exploding, the big bang, and all of what is results. Nothing doesn't explode. That is the height of foolishness.
It isn't crap. How do you see this beautiful song of truth as that. Maybe you've been through something that made you bitter and in a state of disbelief. I pray that you will watch this with a heart of faith.
There is no human understanding for the grace of God. Simply accept it, live in it, love Him for it and enjoy it! (WITH TEARS - THANK YOU LORD!)

The Apostle Paul very clearly stated that to be absent from the body is to present with the Lord. II Corinthians 5:8.
So very sorry for your loss of your precious son, so young. So heartbreaking.

This song is truly a masterpiece, it evokes a lot of emotions.

And this "GRACE", so precious--and so much more than sufficient for me.
I love his rich voice. Thank you Lord Jesus for the gift of praising You

Tha nks be to. GOD
We sing this in our home church ;) it's so beautiful
Time measured out my days
Life carried me along
In my soul I yearned to follow God
But knew Id never be so strong
I looked hard at this world
To learn how heaven could be gained
Just to end where I began
Where human effort is all in vain
[Chorus]
Were it not for grace
I can tell you where Id be
Wandering down some pointless road to nowhere
With my salvation up to me
I know how that would go
The battles I would face
Forever running but losing this race
Were it not for grace
So here is all my praise
Expressed with all my heart
Offered to the Friend who took my place
And ran a course I could not start
And when He saw in full
Just how much His would cost
He still went the final mile between me and heaven
So I would not be lost
[Chorus]
Forever running but losing this race
Were it not for grace

*Yes* it is. God be praised.
So all those who suffer, been raped, murdered, beheaded, and otherwise victimized simply didn't have grace? Without grace you're toast, huh? Bullocks.
Wow, you people really believe this crap!
Yes, and if you would give it a chance you would to.
