OSU GreenSeeder - Hand Planter

Developing world maize, corn, is planted, managed, fertilized and harvested by hand. This production takes place on marginal landscapes on more than thirty million hectares around the world. This is equivalent to the entire area of corn planted in the United States. Oklahoma State University has developed a hand planter that singulates seed and homogenizes plant stands, thus increasing corn grain yields. The hand planter also serves as a fertilizer applicator.
