The Wolf Tuner is MUCH prettier than the Krentz Modulator. I'm also not a fan of the black button sticking out of my cello.
I'll be very interested to see how you go with the Wolf Tuner.

Thank you for your work. I am watching your videos with a pleasure. Could you tell me please if the smaller size of cello makes it plays a little bit quieter? Best regards from Germany

the 7/8 is strong enough for me, and has a full size sound. All of this depends on your Luthier

Nice piece. I'm a huge silverbug.
Should you have it in this orientation? Other side front might be slightly more pretty, rounded side facing the audience. It will reflect less light into the eye of the observer, be a more subdued presence on your instrument.

Never thought about how the audience sees it, thank you for the suggestion

@@CelloCoach In a way it's lovely that you didn't. Not too self consious/shy. I'm sure there are many musicians who'd be embarrassed to have anything but the same instrument to the next person over in the orchestra. Don't change that part of you :)

Hi Jonathon.. I hope you are well, my eastman strings young master has a horrendous wolf on the F/F# on 4th finger 4th position G string and I have tried a few things now.. What I find calms my wolf nicely is to place the Eharmony brass weight on my C string and not the G!!!.. I can't remember where I read it but I decided to move it over from the G string (where we all seem to put it) and over to the C string and it made a whole world of difference in a similar placement to where you put this one in this video.. Id be interested for you to do a self little experiment on your new 7/8 cello and remove the Krentz and instead of putting the old Eharmony tried and tested one on the G string as Edgar supplied it try it out on the C instead and see what happens.. Like I said it seemed to work better on mine so would love to know how it performed on yours..

@@CelloCoach I have no clue how or why (the science behind it) made such a difference but it did on mine. Also I had a little wolf on F on 2nd finger first position on the D, string but I could bow through it before so never really was a issue as much as 4th finger on the F on the G string.. But changing the Eharmony weight onto the C string instead of the G fixed this also.. It was a eureka moment for me as I was going to ditch the brass weight on the G string and purchase the krentz but this simple change onto the C string fixed my issues..

HI Jonathan! Congratulations on the video, I really like your way of explaining and you always put me in a good mood! :) I wanted to ask you something, is it normal to find difficulties at the beginning of the study? I state that I am thirty years old and have never played any musical instrument. I bought the cello a few months ago and I am doing online courses with an Italian teacher ... I have learned many things, such as scales etc ... But I can hardly play any melody! Apart from some very very easy ... :( I would love to play something it's a beautiful instrument!

Play music from you heart, Giovanni, and have you teacher host a lesson with no partitions. I have an 85yo who struggles with Bach but he played my arrangement of Donizetti's "Una Furtiva Lagrima" beautifully, and by memory.
You should play more melodies in your heart, not only the score.

    Hi Jonathan:
If not consider the the looking of these two different wolf eliminator (Krentz and A.Theunis), compare their sound effects only. Do they have the same quality?

Silver is heavier than copper alloys so it can have a smaller footprint.

@@CelloCoach 👍 it's the same reason why tungsten or nickel is used because they have more mass. More mass requires more energy to move. Which means the string will vibrate slower making a lower sound without making the string super thick. 🤔 That's just my guess though. I'm no professional in this field, just an enthusiast. So giant grain of salt. ✌️✌️✌️
