    People often forget to put trees in. A must for a healthy garden.

    Wife and I recently dedicated the empty lot we own adjacent to our house to varieties of fruit trees and berry bushes that are hardy for zone 3b. So far so good. We have two apricot trees that are now four years old. We have saskatoons, apples, and raspberries that are producing each year. This summer we also started plums, haskup, grapes and pears in varieties that can take the cold. We got our first blackberries this summer. We shall see how it goes.

      Are you in the US? I'm in Wyoming, zone 4 due to wind dessication and extreme weather change. What types/varieties are your perennial fruits?

    Growing heritage fruit trees has been a passion of mine for about 17 years. It is such an interesting hobby and a whole other subject to vegetable growing. Good luck with your new orchard Tanya!

    I am a new gardener living in a tropical environment and want to plant fruit trees & berries but didn’t think I could in this environment. I was encouraged by this video to do a bit of research and I am amazed at what will thrive here in the Caribbean.

    Thank you for this video Tanya!
    These have been some questions that I've had and it's nice to have a single resource to refer to. In the past
    going to multiple sources and getting conflicting answers from a variety of people I simply threw my hands up in the air.

    Incredible!! Could not agree more. I have a garden that is around 200 square meters give or take. I have created an orchard of super dwarf trees here in the subtropics of Australia. We have super dwarf apples, mangos, avocados, blueberry, tons of citrus. And below them in the orchard we mix in perennials and flowers and comfrey which prefer to have some shade from the aussie hot sun. Backyard orchards are some of the most feasible and easy to set up for everyday people as well. Gone are the days of only being able to have massive fruit trees.

    Thank you very much for this informative video and recommendation of the orchard book. I got an extension to my current allotment where I plan to grow small fruit trees and have joined a group to learn about orchard management. This information is perfectly timed.. can’t wait to see you apple trees on an arch😀

    Thank You Tanya Lovely Greens. Im going to look into how to grow Blueberries in containers . How? When? What variety ? etc etc etc . Im clueless right now .😂

    • @Lovelygreens
      @Lovelygreens  2 роки тому

      Blueberries grow really well in containers! Make sure to plant them in an acidic potting mix (also called ericaceous compost). Keep well watered and also check the variety and whether or not it benefits from having another blueberry plant as a cross-pollinating companion.

    Hello! Wade does not have a UA-cam account so, unfortunately, he cannot answer questions directly. He's emailed me a couple of answers though and I'm sharing them on his behalf:
    One person asks about the dwarf fruit trees in the front garden so maybe you could post a link to my film on Fruit Trees in Small spaces ua-cam.com/video/IFf2z8ikXLY/v-deo.html
    A couple of folks mention the juicing equipment I’d reference any queries to www.vigopresses.co.uk who do everything for pressing etc.

    I did not understand: what is the name of the machine that chops up the apples to be put into the cider press? Where would I look for any electric machine like that? Also, where can I purchase a pasteurizer?
    How do you ferment cider?
