  • I am a sports medicine physician at Memorial Healthcare System specializing in the treatment of acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries, including joint, muscle, tendon and nerve issues. My patients span all ages and include elite athletes, collegiate athletes and weekend warriors. My priority is always to maximize an athlete’s physical function and optimize their quality of life.
I am dual board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and sports medicine and have a special interest in micro-invasive interventional orthopedics and regenerative medicine such as the use of orthobiologics (e.g. platelet-rich plasma and stem cell procedures). These are non-surgical approaches to encourage tissue healing and pain relief.
I was always interested in the sciences and fascinated with the limits of the human body during sports, which led me to a career in sports medicine where I could combine these interests. I had the privilege to train with the leading experts in musculoskeletal ultrasound and regenerative medicine at the prestigious Mayo Clinic.
Being born and raised in Miami, I take pleasure in providing care to the South Florida community. When working with patients, I am passionate about teaching and helping them understand their injuries and the evidence of sports medicine treatments. I aim for each patient to leave my clinic with a clear explanation of their injury and treatment plan. I also like to instill that exercise is medicine. It is an honor to be part of a patient’s treatment journey and get them back into their active lifestyles.
In addition to providing individual patient care, I enjoy covering sporting events and being a team physician. Throughout my training and career, I have covered high school and collegiate athletic sports, semi-professional teams (MedCity FC Soccer Team and Rochester Grizzlies Hockey Team), and mass events (AJC Peachtree Road Race, MedCity Marathon, Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon and Publix Atlanta Marathon to name a few). I also took part in medical care for the Minnesota Twins MLB spring training session and carry a martial arts background, including Shaolin Kung Fu, Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I am interested in combat medicine and adrenaline-infused sports, such as skateboarding.
I am heavily involved in the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM), having carried leadership roles such as President of the Sports Medicine Resident Council and Fellowship Class Representative. I have been invited to be scanning faculty to teach diagnostic ultrasound, give national lectures on ultrasound and medical education and mentor medical students and residents.
