Oh you jammy bugger! I bought a George brand new in 1995 - still have him to this day. He's hiding in mother's garage 🤣

It wasn't sold that far from the factory then, which is somewhat interesting.
Also the inside bits haven't changed much from my 2017? George, the bottom of the top hat looks similar as does the float valve and solution container.
The manual is interesting being just a sheet of paper essentially, but that is what came with our original 2007 Hetty, the only difference is that the pictures were all drawings rather than pictures.

No it wasn't! Odd how it's now in Oxfordshire but I guess 25+ years is a long time 🤣 I imagine it's physically identical to your 2017 one tbh, I don't think the wet motor design changed did it 🤔

@@beko1987 Not too sure regarding motor design as I've only used two and one would have been probably from ~2009. The motor is still 1000W so it probably is the same.

I couldn't touch a 2nd hand vacuum as such a germaphobe, even if it was free! The thought makes my skin crawl but im glad you are pleased, being a germaphobe costs alot of money😥

I've just got a 1991 gve370 - he's brilliant. Just like yours Sam but mine has the folding handle as opposed to your fixed handle 1995!

Nice! I saw the video on fb and it sounded just like this did, that was my benchmark for saying it sounded mint 😂 I prefer the folding handle ones tbh

Lucky you, mint, working George left on the street” as steal” and you definitely did😂
But I’d attend to the Henry you used to clean out the turbo style soft bag junior.
The bearings in that motor sounded “worse than knackered “ I’d whip them off and get a new set SKF put in sharpish before the motor overheats and burns out!!!!
Do the right thing for Henry👍👍keep up the good content

My best find is an immaculate DC33 Dyson with a blown motor.
