Hi Felix, informative videos. I have purchased the Clio Etech Hybrid - Launch Edition in the same colour Urban Grey. I have done approx 440 miles and so far been impressed with the performance and economy of the car. I have every option available at the time of purchase that includes the Bose stereo which sounds amazing, the 360 degree camera system and wireless mobile phone charging. The only thing you could not add was heated leather seats as this was RS-Line only option, a bit odd? The hybrid system works well it is smooth and around town EV mode comes on most of the time subject to temperature. The temperature below 9c or so makes the petrol engine kick in especially when starting from cold. Even on faster roads i have seen the system use EV up around 45mph or so. So far, I have seen the economy hit 65mpg on a modest run. The performance is impressive with a linear smooth delivery great for overtaking and around town and is quite too! The only annoying thing I have with the car is a rattle somewhere near the front passenger door area, it comes and goes probably with different temperatures, expansion of the plastics, in the warm spring sunshine last week it was not so noticeable. Have you had any rattles or squeaks on your car yet?
Hi James, thanks for your great comment! Very happy for you, I'm quite jealous of your fully loaded Clio Etech! I definitely would have bought the heated seats if it was an option too, Renault have missed a trick there - lots of customers (including me) just don't want the "Sporty" looking RS Line. No major squeaks or rattles to report for me so far, but I have had success locating these in the past by mounting an audio recorder near the squeak and listening back to the footage to locate it. Hope this helps! Enjoy your car
@@fgardner Thanks for the tip re audio recorder! I have also notice on the Renault website to build your Clio, a lot of the optional 'packs' are now not available for any trim levels. The Launch Edition is now deleted too! Be good to compare notes on ownership for our Clios moving forward too.
Great reviews Felix - We've just bought a new E-Tech Launch Edition Clio. Would love to see how you configure widgets on the Easylink screen touch screen. We don't have a widget for Eco mode from what I can see.
Got the same car but with the TCe 100 5 speed manual. Was very happy with it even after running into the same weird transport mode issue. That was until it failed to start up one morning and I had to have it towed to the dealership. Battery (same make and model as yours) was dead despite having made regular trips (taking the current situation into account, some 4000km). Dealership said the car and battery were fine and that they recharged it and I would have to pay for that and the towing, since no faults meant no warranty cover. I've measured it regularly since and it seems always on the brink of going, at around 11.3 to 12v, which the dealership called normal. Start stop never kicks in anymore saying something about battery optimization. Kinda took away a lot of the joy of a new car when I get a bit of anxiety everytime I have to take a short trip. Will ask the dealership if they can fit an AGM battery or at least a larger EFB without voiding warranty. Haven't even had my first annual checkup and already been twice in service. Hope yours fares better.
Thanks for the comment - the battery seems to be a common issue with these cars (see my message with commenter "oguzhantt"). Mine seems OK for now but I will update everyone if anything changes :)
12V for an EFB is below 50% SoC so the dealer should replace that battery in warranty. Go to a third-party battery dealer and test your battery with a professional battery tester and then go to the Renault dealer with the printed report and DEMAND replacement under warranty.
Hello Doru, thanks for the reply. In the time since I posted this comment I went for my first scheduled check up (1 year) whereupon I again requested a battery check based on the points mentioned above (as well as an AC check, as the car would randomly blow warm air when my setting was at full cold). To my surprise, the dealership replaced both the battery and AC compressor under warranty and the car seems to be fine based on how it performed in the three weeks that have passed since. I am cautiously optimistic and will continue to pay attention to the battery charge and Start-Stop. Hopefully I am out of the woods.
@@Clone875 This is great! I am happy that you have resolved your car problems, and yes, the battery health is very important for modern cars. Have a nice day!
Sorry but you have made a mistake, the radar is definitely on your car, it is used for the safety features such as emergency breaking and calculating distance to the next car, it is hidden behind the plastic you are touching. Even the entry level Clio is equipped with this radar.
Hi Felix. Great videos, I watched, as I have a 2020 Kadjar 1.3 TCE EDC in Spain. Agree with the fuel economy, I'm averaging 6.7L per 100KM. I have about 4000km on the clock now, and I turn off the Stop/start every time I get in the car. Mine is a 140HP, and I find I have to be really light footed on the accelerator pedal, because it takes off with a skid as well. It's something I have got used to now and I'm very happy with it. This is just a guess, but I use 98 octane fuel in my Kadjar, not 95. I don't know what fuel you use, but maybe try a tank of higher octane fuel to see if it makes any difference. Apologies if I'm wrong and you've already tried it. Thanks again.
Thanks for the lovely kind words Dave! I will splash out and try some 98 octane in it at some point - good idea, I'll try anything once for sure! I'm doing another update video soon so will let you know :)
@@fgardner A little bit more info for you. You should always use higher octane fuel, as it will advance the ignition for the engine to produce more power and thus be more efficient. Further the UK fuel will change from E5 to E10, however super unleaded, such as Shell V-Power will not change and stay on E5. Top tip, avoid E10, google will explain why. HTH.
Hi, thanks for the review I am also very happy with the fuel consumption of edc transmission and 1.33 tce engine. I want to ask you one question sometimes my trip computer resets itself. And there is no any common patterns between those resets. Sometimes it doesn't get reset for 400 kmh sometimes it resets itself after doing less than 150 kms.
Hi there, thanks for watching! I'm not really sure I can help you, but perhaps you are accidentally resetting the trip computer yourself by holding the "OK" button on the right hand side of the steering wheel? That's how you reset everything if you want to. Cheers, Felix
@@fgardner sometimes I have doubts about it too. But there are many Turkish users struggling with the same problem. I am just trying to figure out if it is a global problem or not. One last question did you get a software update for the car. ( not the ota updates for the infotainment system).
@@oguzhantt Good luck with the issue, it's not something I've experienced but I'll keep an eye out! I've just received OTA updates for the infotainment, no proper update for the car as it has not been back to the dealer yet. Do you think the car software update caused the issue with the trip computer?
@@fgardner actually I thought there might be a fix for this resetting issue, that's why I asked. Turkish users are mostly suspicious of the battery of the car. As a cost-cutting decision, they put a tiny battery for a car with a start-stop system. In Turkey, our batteries have 60 Amper capacity. Do you have any idea about the battery installed in your car?

This is a great idea Brett! I'll do this in my next video
62.1 mpg ?!?!? Crikey i wouldn't ever get near that and i have the same engine. 😁 That's really impressive!

Ah, thanks for the info! I thought it was just using the cameras on the windscreen since there is no lens visible - good to know.
Yes. It's written in the guidebook and also I have got a radar issue fixed on the service. So it's there.
Do you use cruise control on your long journeys
Wonder if the Mercedes A class has the same engine and gearbox ?
Yes it does as my previous car was a180d auto same gearbox and a 1.5 renault diesel engine

thx for km info :), when next update?
Whenever anything interesting happens with the car really! It's very reliable so nothing to report yet... Anything you would like to see?
yeah 105km is slow.. if you drive 130-140kmph you will do 5.9-6.1L average
