Living on my own has been a really big wake up call for me. Here are the 10 things I have learned...

If you're getting a lot of dust be sure you're changing your air filters...a lot of people when they first move out don't think about those and it'll really help with keeping dust under control :)
I live in an apartment an if you turn off your water heater it will save you tons of money. Water heater an frig uses the most power. I turn my water heater back on an hour before I shower or do dishes then I turn it back off. Also keeping everything unplug till you use something saves a lot of money plus your microwave an toaster ect will last much longer. So try this an see what your next bill is. This has saved me 20.00 to 30.00 every month an that adds up through the year. I’ve been watching you an your family for the last 3 years. I watch you all everyday. So Proud if you Alex. Yes! Lights on in every room! My husband leaves lights on all the time. I tell look around and tell me what I’m seeing. He laughs and turns the lights off! Loving your haircut. Your mom did a good job!
Alex you are learning to adult now. You are doing well!! It takes time. Some days are better than others but you know that’s just how life is. We live and learn. Take one day at a time. Plan for your future and try to keep an emergency fund for when times get rough. That would be my best advice. Don’t over spend on credit. Try to keep to a budget. Live, laugh and learn every day ♥️
I'm so happy for the both of you! Savannah, I've been married almost six years now. I have talked with several women and for what I've learned, women do most of the cleaning and financial paper work.
For Alex to manage his own do tor appointments is a huge plus! I manage my husband's appointments because his main priority is work and providing. However, he is learning how to do the paperwork Incase something happens to me.
Question: Have you both talked about a living will and what happens if the other passes away? I know you both are young, but I think it's important to discuss this between you two and with your family even if you don't share that information on social media. My husband and I did this our first year of marriage and I have a health surrogate Incase my husband can't handle his emotions. A tough thing to talk about, but I hope you have.

I have a magnetic lister pad on the fridge, when something is getting low write it on the list, check to see what else could do with restocking.
You're in the right track if you write ✍️ your schedule....your to do list. Many adults haven't realized how much it helps

Alex you are doing an amazing job. Adulting isn't easy but I know you will go far. And with Savannah by your side both can accomplish so much more.
I do certain chores on certain days like vacuum on Wednesday and laundry on Friday.. doing a room a day keeps it from being overwhelming.. and then I make a list every month I make a list of extra stuff that needs done such as this month was going thru my filing drawer and straight it up and not just open and throw it in.. I had paperwork from 95 that I no longer needed.. 9 garbage bags later and only 20 files later I have a neatly organized drawer.. also having a planner helps as I have at least 6 appointments or more a month and I need to not over plan or forget one.. plus I love your hair… plus take time for self care doing something that makes you happy or calm

I am happy for you that in this stage of your growth you have Savannah and a fur baby. Also to be near to your family is a great safety net, as well for emotions as for lifeskills. All that doesn't mean that you can't relax or have a treat to stay in balance.

Dude!!! Thank you!! I don't think people understand how distracting ADS can be. You're in the zone and BAM 2 min ad... my brain is offline. I need streamlined learning and I love how Skillshare delivers their content. I feel like it is more easily absorbed.
If your power company out there has it, you should sign up for Budget Billing. Here in my state, you have to wait until you've had an account there for at least a year and then they'll take the average of those months and that'll be the set amount for a period of time. Usually 3 or 6 months. So instead of jumping from $60 in the winter to $120 in summer, it will be $ 80 or $90 all the time.
A very realistic video visit today! All things listed show that you are transitioning into an adult! As you have learned, living on your own is not an easy ride. You seem to have the basics covered. If that means turning the lights off (when not in use) and making a car trip with multiple chore stops, you will only help yourself! Yes, Dust does appear quickly. A rule of thumb is to "Pick up when company is coming, but Clean up when they leave!"
Being an adult ain't fun, but it's just the next faze in life. It's easy to beat kid where your parents do it all for you. Then you move out thinking you was ready and you do so and then wonder why you was in such a hurry. Don't worry Alex you got this and not only do you have Savannah, and your huge family but you have all of us that love and support you. Just keep reaching for your stars, we got you Alex
I'm a fan of crazy middles and saw a viedo on life skills. Does your parents teach life skills like crazy middle have done to prepare they kids when they move out?
Absolutely part of adulting is budgeting all your expenses then what you have left is for fun you and Savanna are doing great at it be proud of yourself and by the way love your hair cut ☮️❤️

Arizona (Phoenix & Bullhead City) is my home and living there dust was part of my decor. Now that I’m living in Arkansas no dust although spring brings a lot of yellow pollen. Plus snake in my laundry room, frog on my living room doorknob (in the dark). I love your baby and love Pugs although you are gonna find they really shed a lot when they are adults.
Love the haircut your mom gave you. My grandson had the long hair like you and your haircut makes you look more mature not like a little boy and same for my grandson.

My son graduates Friday and I CANT wait until he has adult!! He thinks money grows on trees! Leaves ever light on, runs the ac when it’s 60 outside… he’s in for a rude awakening! He works but he gets to keep all his money. Wait until every penny he makes goes towards bills!
Question: it’s up to you if you want to answer or not. Just a few observations. With your hair long you have Savanna with you ( Is she back yet, since you’ve not shown a video welcoming her home) and with your new haircut Savanna is not seen at all. Your video went back and forth with your old vs new hair....LOL. Crystal did an awesome job on your hair. She kept in long in the front. Just curious if you have used your pool at the apt. If so, do you prefer the one there or your parent's pool?
Y’all need to get Swiffer dusters because they make cleaning so much easier and it only takes a few seconds to run it over the furniture every day. There is one swiffer that has a handle that will pull out to be 6Ft long so you can use it for ceiling fans etc

I use natural light during the day and use one lamp or light from my laptop. Unless Im in the kitchen cooking or cleaning. I don't like a lot of lights on for no reason. I will check out Skill Share.

Also, check your air filter if you’re seeing more dust that usual it may need to be replaced.

Dude - use your phone for scheduling appointments. I would be lost without asking “Siri” to remind me for different appointments or whatever. Sure, write it down but you’re gonna have your phone on you. Use the phone calendar. I set an alert for a week before and then 2 days before any appointments or important thing so I can again remind myself to set an alarm so I don’t forget lol.
Get a step stool. Those fold up and can fit in small areas.
I love the lights off with the windows open
Buy some solarpowered lights.
It's cheap and stays on all night and turns off when the sun rises and charges.

I just bought a house in November and it's just my fiancee and I. We keep all the lights off unless we need it. Low electric bill and natural light from the windows lol.

Alex you are young and it takes time to make a routine that works for you. I used to have to use cabs so some weeks I would combine errands to save my budget. Check your filters on your air conditioner and in the winter furnace filters . Either clean or change them. With your Arizona dust maybe run a fan. If you have a Walmart plus use delivery to save gas. Do the best you can with scheduling. Take time for yourself but remember to enjoy life. Have a great day.

I have to set alarms and reminders for a lot of things. No shame in my game
A little advise on how to keep track on what grocery you need. And can save a little gas, because, you will always know, what you need and can go shopping on your way home from the doctor etc.
I keep an updated shopping list in a note on my phone at all times. And I keep recycling shopping bags in my car. Here in Denmark we pay almost 1$ per new plastic bag in the store, to make people more aware of how much plastic they use. The same goes for take out orders, where we also pay per new plastic bag. But in all fairness I have to say our bags are bigger and stronger, so they can hold a lot more grocery each.
You can also use the calender on your phone for your appointment and set an alarm to tell you when you have to get ready and leave to be on time.
