Hi Scott, This is my favorite channel, I can’t get enough. I have built lots of sailplanes but never a boat and I want to soon. Are you laser cutting your own kit off of your own plans? I have a laser but I haven’t learned CAD yet. Can I buy the files or should I just buy a kit? I like electric because it’s clean and easy to just charge and go but a gasser has such appeal to me. If you made a 3D printed mold, reverse of the plug, you could cast the figure in Smooth On Feather Lite. The detail would be the same but it’s ultra light weight and would float and is easily paintable. There are light weight materials for both filament and resin printers. That resin print looks like it needs some UV light to finish curing it.
Lotta info here but I'll try to go in order... First, thanks! Funny but this is my favorite channel too 😁 Next, if you're not experienced in the boat building world you should definitely do a kit as your first build. Scratch building is tough tough tough, and I've been doing it for years. Everything I do is by hand with scroll saw, band saw, Dremel, belt sander, chain saw, whatever it takes. But if you were so inclined to send me a new X-Tool laser I'd be much obliged. I was trying to be kind when I was reviewing that resin print driver. A subscriber from California sent it to me, and I didn't want to hurt his feelings too much. It was HEAVY! I print my own drivers and other parts (available at Rattlesnake RC!), and they're far lighter and better quality, if I do say so myself. And I do. Thanks for watching, and good luck with whatever you decide to build
Since I am planning an electric Miss Tri-Cities I would love to follow your build. ....However, if the gasser doesnt make sense in such a low profile my vote would be Mega- Stroh, or anything better suited as a gasser.
Love your videos. Could you please tell me more about tubing. We contacted Mcmaster Carr and they said they had stainless steel only in the .165/.135. Thank you.
How many people KNEW a boat couldn’t go 50MPH? How many people KNEW a V8 couldn’t go in a boat? How many people KNEW an Allison would never float in a boat hull? How many people KNEW a jet engine couldn’t spin a boat prop? What’s the fun in KNOWING everything if you can’t do something you KNOW won’t work and then make it work?
“You have to add 4lbs to the nose of the boat to make it work” “Oh look at how light i was building this hull. That’ll never work it’s too light to stick to the water”
Also, check with Mike about the “resin” dripping out. You have to wash resin 3d printed parts with alcohol before they get cured so hopefully that’s alcohol that you’re dripping everywhere. The resin is super toxic in raw form. From what I’ve heard, you’re better off taking a swig of methanol than getting the resin on you and not cleaning it up properly.
@@M5PerfHydros Wash it out with an alcohol and then use a UV flash light to cure whatever is left on the inside of it so you don’t keep having to deal with it
Dude, that camera spinning is really bad. Most other content creators don't shoot with more than 1 camera, and their viedos dosen't require a pill or a patch to watch. If we are earning you money by clicking and watching, we deserve a better way. Just saying....
I know and I'm sorry, but there just isn't a better way to show you everything you need to see. Plus my videos are real-time, not planned production pieces. More like you're in the shop with me, instead of me pre-planning a bunch of careful shots in front of a stationary camera just to get more viewership. Would I get wider distribution and a few more pennies that way? Sure. But I'd hate it. If I lose you, I'll miss you, but I fully understand if you can't hang with my style. Thanks for the input.
Megastroh all the way !! Love every build no matter what
Thank you!
I believe in you expertise, build something that you know will work.
But it can't be an easy one. No challenge in that!
yes please make it anyways! I would love to see what it turns out doing.

I vote for the Miss Tri Cities, add variety to the fleet !
Ya but, well, I dunno. Gotta think on it
miss tri cities all the way.i think the camera work is pretty good.

Yup, I think I've got an idea ...
Another great video Scott
Thanks David
Scott do you have an email
Monster Strogh. Dooo iiiiit!
Yeah let’s do it ❤
Love your videos. Could you please tell me more about tubing. We contacted Mcmaster Carr and they said they had stainless steel only in the .165/.135. Thank you.
That's the one you want! Thinner walled tubing collapses much too easily when you try to bend
Thank you so much for replying.
Stroh…Any chance you’ll be offering plans? Would like to follow along on the build.
Hmm... I've got something in mind. Keep watching, we'll talk about all that soon
Change it up and build the Tri-Cities.
Where do get boats like the gasser and Strohs. I would love to build one with electric power.
You don't, I designed these myself. But... You CAN get really excellent framing kits right here; mlboatworksrc.com/
Is there a weight restriction on those boats
Airplane pylon racers usually have a minimum weight .
Nope!
Has anybody ever tried to build/race a Thai river racer with the extended dive shaft. Just wondering?
Nope, extended shaft not allowed under racing rules. Would be super fun to try though!
Mega Stroh!
I’d build it up to the point where you can modify it to your liking.
It IS tempting. Maybe someday in 10th scale? Hmm...
Naw, Stroh Magnum!
Got something new up my sleeve....
What motor are you using?
In the new Gasser? I haven't decided. I have a couple QuickDraws and a Gizmo, so it'll be one of those two
😎👍
Scott do you have an email. Need advise on angle of flexi shaft but need to send a picture
Sure, scott.meyers24@gmail.com
Build the tri cities and put a CMB 27 GPX in it.....!!
Would like to but too tall. The CMB gas engines are almost 3/4" taller than zenoah or QD!
What if you lay it on its side 😂
Build something you know will work. Why waste your time and money on building something you know won’t work? Just my thoughts.
Now THIS is probably the best response yet. But I do like a good challenge so... ya .. still thinking
@@M5PerfHydros either way I’m watching! As that’s my dream boat a scale gas hydro..
Just build it, you can keep it dry it will be a really nice decoration.

I'm not surprised. The goo that's coming out appears to be eating the tabletop now!

Start the build
Good idea!
I would like you to send out to me so I can get into that shot of boat racing Britain Edinburgh good old Scotland
?
Send me the TC boat and I'll finish it.
Don't tempt me!
I'm saying mega stroh.
I know, I know, but I think I might have another idea ...
Build a miss budweiser
Too easy. I find more challenge in making things that cannot work into things that do . .
