Some of the comments that were made on this episode makes me think you guys need a fully black cohost. Melissa said two things this interview that were very concerning: the pretty light skinned girls from Germany comment; and the comment about how she notices her "whiteness" in the way she speaks. It is possible that among the people she surrounds herself with, she is often the smartest person in the room and unfortunately she may attribute that to the part of her that is white; however I went to one of the highest ranked universities in North America and some of the most intelligent and well spoken people I met were from the continent of Africa. I wish someone in the room challenged or asked her to clarify that comment and if you had an interviewer that identifies as being fully black, I believe they would have challenged.

Great interview! I do want to say, though I get what Melissa was saying about seeing herself in her mom, well duh don't we all see a piece of us in our parents. I think she believes she's smarter than she really is. I've caught her using words incorrectly in several instances. Also, she doesn't fully research her stories before speaking on them and talks in circles when she doesn't do her homework to try and overcompensate. So Melissa- is that part the "white" or the "black" part??
I have noticed that she sometimes she uses her $5 dollar words incorrectly. But the other host don't know what the words mean so they can't correct her. I used to really like her but she loses me with some of the shit she says. This last thing had me like whoa!

The whole thing is a hot mess, Amina knew about Tara, she married Peter any way, she really thought Tara should have stopped being with him after 13 years, she didn't take marriage seriously from the start. The hosts all seem pretty self absorbed. I think Melyssa didn't see much of her dad growing up (I read an article about her years ago as a teenaged school kid). In the article she stated she hated her curves growing up and cried at night because of how her bum was shaped, we know thats not the case now... I just think it took her a long time to embrace her true identity, when mixed people grow up in predominantly white environments they will do anything to prove they are half like them, which creates a complex later in life and the delusional idea that they aren't 'black', they didn't have any black people close to them to tell them guess what, to us and the world you're black and there is nothing wrong with that! Own your blackness.

Reading some of the comments about the Tara/Amina situation shows how far the world has come from moral thinking and what’s considered “what is right”; whatever our opinions are, the FACTS are the following: Tara & Peter were in a relationship (13yrs), lived together, 2 kids, Peter strayed, met Amina, they SECRETLY got married, he went home, not to his secret wife, but to his live in girlfriend, let that same situation happen to anyone in the comment section, and see how they’ll handle it.... so the hell what people think Tara did it first, so what it’s peter’s fault, wrong is wrong. Your husband just doesn’t come home for over a year and live with an ex unless you the side chick (wife or whatever). Real wives have a husband at home, not at a home with another woman. There isn’t any way she didn’t know, and the fact that people say Tara is the one that’s wrong is just baffling!! This episode SLACKED, I had to skip some parts... I did not hear about Melissa's comments on ethnicity but that host was boring af, she had a sleep tone ughhhh. And in my opinion Melissa shouldn't go! They're just the perfect duo they know each other well and they're TOTALLY uncensored. Wasn't feeling it this episode. :( waiting for the next one tough.
