I'm a 62 yr old grandma who loves this video. My 6 yr old granddaughter gave me a pitiful worn-out Barbie to keep at my house (for modeling the clothes I sew) Thanks to your tips ... this sad doll is getting a 'major' makeover ... hair-nails-lashes!!! My granddaughter won't recognize her! Thanks for the easy-to-follow video! #nevertoooldforBarbies
I definitely think you should do more lashes on your dolls, although I personally use pre-made individual lashes and I glue them on to my dolls that way. Also for curling the hair, I'd suggest using straws rather than pipe cleaners so they won't get stuck.
I've had a lot of success with the pipe cleaner curlers. a good tip: use trimmed down coffee filters like you would the papers hairstylists use when giving a perm. extend them just past the ends on both sides of your hair section, spray them with a bit of water, and then wrap the hair around. that helps to make sure you've curled all the way to the end of the hair and helps to keep it from sticking to the pipe cleaner. a LOT less frizz that way.
Love this, your comments are thee best! Yes bring back the lashes! I am new to these doll hacks, looking for ideas for my granddaughter. BUT, I want my own now!!
Okay I'm glad I'm not the only one who loves rooted lashes on dolls! I own a few dolls with customized rooted lashes (someone else put them on, not me!) and it honestly adds SO MUCH to the doll.
I TOTALLY agree that doll lashes NEED the comeback!!! #bringthelashesback Also, I’d love to see you do more doll hacks, this video was HILARIOUS! Might I suggest some like: - Re-rooting doll hair with yarn - Giving a doll bangs by curling them with a mascara brush and setting them with a product - Removing doll ink stains on the face with toothpaste/acne cream (THESE ARE NOT MY HACKS, JUST ONES IVE SEEN IN VIDEOS THAT IM CURIOUS ABOUT)
Am a kid and i been stuck at home playing Roblox all day and by the videos you help me get off Roblox and play with my dolls more we all love u and god do to❤❤😘
The standard size paper clips work well for omg tween and similar sized dolls (6-7 inches) I had the honour of holding my grandmother's original Barbie (the very first doll) and I instantly fell in love with rooted eyelashes. #BringTheLashesBack
Nails are the best And after seeing the thumbnail I got so excited and will try the hot glue nails on my doll Thank you Ava for beautiful hacks #bringthelashesback #ddsquad Yes pls do pt 2
I think the fake nails were the coolest! And I definitely want to see a part 2! As long as your dolls don't get anymore ruined than they already are! #ddsquad #bringthelashesback
#bringthelashesback 100%! They add a flare to the eyes. I also loved the nails. As a doll enthusiast I’m definitely gonna try these! Thanks for your content! 💕
My first comment got deleted...weird? Lol Yess girl!! #bringbackthelashes I mean, you wouldn't have to do them on all of your dolls, I personally think that it would look fantastic on your "mini me doll." I've actually done the fake lashes on the same doll that was used in the hack video! But you need to be careful not to cause a split in the lash line...trust me, it can happen! 😅 Also, yes, you did a much better job on the nails! 💗✨️
You were hilarious in this video 🤣 Very entertaining. I would love to see part 2! Love how the eyelashes turned out! Definitely want to try this myself one day. I think you should try it on more dolls! It really makes them very unique. I have tried the pipe cleaner curl method on my dolls before and I've learned this; it depends on the dolls hair. It doesn't typically work well on dolls with longer smooth and straight hair. But for dolls that already have wavy/curly hair this works great. It also depends how you twist it in the dolls hair; it can look very different depending on how you do it. But I have noticed that it does pull a lot of the dolls hair out; rip dolls hair. Peices of straw or small sponge curls work a lot better
Hey Ava!!! ❤ I am Julie you may remember me from a previous shoutout a few weeks ago love your vids so much and support you sooo much! I love dolls and minis and actually made a mini uno card set and the doll book room you made along with the book printable. 😊
I think that the nails were like the best doll hack. And by the way I used pipe cleaners to curl hair and it works super good. You just have to be gentle. 💅🏼
The lashes was amazing. I am considering doing it.. . Thr pipe cleaner hair curling does work. I've done to a couple of my dolls and her hair turned out really good.
#bringthelashesback and I love the fake nails and the clothing hanger hack. You could use the smaller hanger for purses or glue a couple of beads on the sides for the shoulders of the top or dress to force it to stay on the hanger. Or just use the bigger paperclip like you did. You're a doll master genius! Thank you, Kelsey!
This was great! Loved the nail hack. I cringed on the pipe cleaners. Straws seem best there. I need to try them with my newly acquired girls. The hanger was amazing, since those who collect Topper Dawn dolls can use the smaller paper clips. Small joys where I can. Thanks to you & @nerdecrafter, I’m able to get back to things I love. #ddsquad
i only now got this video suggested.. did the pipe cleaner curls on my latest custom & they turned out BEAUTIFUL! the prettiest ringlettes! i found it easier to start from the top of the head instead of the ends of the hair you can also do doll lashes by cutting up human falsies, just make sure the band on them is thin alsoalso, the nails on your doll turned out so pretty! definitely a succes!
I liked the eyelash method. I think we saw the same video. It also works good on the mod era dolls, I just restored a Stacey mod doll and from photos of the original doll with lashes I tried them to the correct length it was great. The pipe cleaner method I tried once and I think it could of been the size but also the hair texture as well. I'd love to see more of these hacks too. I even have a hack. If you take a few strands of Barbies hair and make either small or large braids tie them at the ends and soak I boiling water you get ready nice pleates. Becareful when brushing it out though because too much brushing will make it look like thick 80's look unless you want that texture. I recommend brushing out with a barbie brush to avoid less hair shed.
I put the hair between strips of saran wrap as endpapers when rolling doll hair. Around 1" square folded in half. Altho the size depends on length of doll hair and/or size of rollers(pipe cleaners or straws). I also remove rollers while the hair is damp; it reduces frizz and flyaways.
I definitely absolutely loved the nails and the eyelashes. I think you did an awesome job at everything even the shoes. I hope there's going to be a part 2 I'd sure love to see it. #bringthelashesback
You’re doing the recommendations better than the ACTUAL videos!!! I just went down that rabbit hole and my reactions were in bold and italicized from how bad they looked!!! Your video is having me rethinking my initial opinions on the matter.
This is so cool, I would have spent hours on doing this with my friends back in the day! Lol, you could almost make a cursed Halloween outfit with the hot glue hacks and maybe mixed with other things? 😄
I use bobby pins to curl barbie hair and stick them to the head with straight pins. You can get a lot of nice directional curls. I also hot water their hair, then switch to cold water it, and remove the pins while it is still wet. Then let it dry and style.
Love your videos. 💖 Barbie eyelashes are great. I additionally 'curl' my eyelashes by pulling them up and boilwashing or steaming them (depending on the dolls hairstyle) before cutting them. The pipe cleaner curls worked very well for me for tighter curls, perm paper on the ends and wetting the hair definitely help with the curling process thou. Takes a bit of practice, but if you can pull off all the stuff that you're doing you surely would be able to develop pipe cleaner curling skills 😉 💕
I used to use round coffee stirrers and common pins to roll up the hair. The hair should be clean and straight. I did love all the hacks, well most of them 😊
Regarding giving your dolls curly hair, Poppen Atelier has a nice method where she wraps the hair around skewers and uses a low heat flat iron. I imagine it would take practice, but it works well. AS for the hot glue shoe thing, it is skill based. I've seen it done and well, but it definitely is a learning curve.
Cinderella's glass slipper but on a budget took me out 😂 I've used straws and Bobbi pins to curl my dolls hair it works better than the pipe cleaners the nails were pretty cool
In order to do pipe cleaner curls, I spritz the hair with water and dip the ends in water before I roll each curl. Then I wrap the ends in small squares of tissue paper and begin the roll at the tissue end. This way, the hair doesn't tangle and frizz at the ends. My dolls are usually on stands so that I can use both of my hands and keep a little tension on each section as I roll. Once dry, I have no problem removing the pipe cleaners if I start at the bottom. That's just the way I get pipe cleaners to work for me...

That is awesome! I’d love to see the clothes you sew, do you have any social media where I can see them?
Aww 💗 I hope 🤞 it turned out well!! I get the distinct feeling you’re a creative type and you’ve got this!! So sweet
Haha just kidding i love you ❤❤
Im im ava and i dont know abt you: me thinking. But im feeling 22. SWIFTES CAN ONLY LIKE
Bruh I don’t do Swift she is def over rated but you can like her if you want to

Totally agree🎉
same!
I love it so much
I agree to
🎉❤😊😊 Happy Halloween🎃
Twist ties work a whole better. I curled my Barbie hair in that manner since I was 11.
Saran wrap works great too and are reusable.

1:46 The doll is sooo pretty 🥹💕
Its Emily

Wonderful job on the nails 💅 and the lashes. Love it! Cute hanger idea.

Insane
I don’t know about toothpaste, but acne cream 100% works. It’s a very old doll restoration technique. The peroxide in it is bleaching out the stains.
Same! #BringTheLashesBack

1:43 that’s so good! I’m considering doing my Barbie’s nails that I still have
yes you should do more!!🥰😍
This was fun! With the exception of the shoes, these turned out better than I expected!
I think the fake nails were the coolest! And I definitely want to see a part 2! As long as your dolls don't get anymore ruined than they already are! #ddsquad #bringthelashesback
#bringlashesback !!! They looked amazing on Creepy Barbie!
Your shoe looks a *lot* better than the original hack video.
I'd definitely love to see you test more doll hacks
I did the paper clip one but with a larger clip, like a giant one. Worked wonderfully.
#bringthelashesback 100%! They add a flare to the eyes. I also loved the nails. As a doll enthusiast I’m definitely gonna try these! Thanks for your content! 💕
The nails came out sooooo cute - can’t wait to try this. And the lashesss 🤩

LOVE IT LIKE IT IS A BADDIE another day another SLAY
I love Barbies and I think the nails turned out beautifully gorgeous!!
#BringTheLashesBack
With the small paper clip hanger you can use it for kids clothes! That is a good idea I thought of!

Wow your dolls nails did turn pretty good! Keep it up!
Lashes are awesome- definitely do more. I have done the pipe cleaner curls and it was fine. The worst was the glue shoe. Thanks for sharing
the pink paperclip hack might be perfect in size for chelsea or maybe stacy doll clothes
Hey girl I love your videos it gives me both entertainment and inspiration to make my own diy's as always never disappointing 💖 💗

She definitely did it better in real life?❤❤❤
Good job on the hanger trick
Lol yes I think you did a better job on tha nails than the other channel😊❤😂
Pipecleaner curls are best for making doll afros. Also the hair should be wet so it's more controllable.
Dude this is so pretty and also im 10yr old and I have a big doll house and this is so pretty and I want to do this ❤❤❤❤
